The menu is really outstanding with a lot of choices both for breakfast and lunch. So much to choose from it took us a minute! We ended up with classic Eggs Benedict, Bree Eggs Benedict, and pancakes with an egg. They quickly arrive and looked awesome! The sides of fruit were fresh. The huevos rancheros had whole chips and crushed chips like it came from the bottom of the bag. There was soupy beans, a spoonful of pico de gallo and a couple eggs. There's a 2% kitchen love fee tacked on. So for 3 people, 3 entrees and drinks it's about $125. The parking situation is good, it was easy to walk in, no wait list. The patio is dog friendly. FYI: They do charge a 2% "living wage" tax, which is not advertised. I thought a customer pays for food and the employer pays the living wage of the employee. I'm not sure why this cost is being passed onto the customer. Food - I like trying "interesting" foods, and Tangerine has these while still offering typical breakfast items and not having an overwhelmingly long menu. My Hacienda omelette was delicious. Steak and eggs has everything: protein, vegetables, carbs, dairy. I got a multigrain pancake, which is unique and highly recommended. Gabby (the employee) has never led me astray. Really cool vibe restaurant! Came here with a friend for brunch on a Thursday, and started off with a Bloody Mary. The bloody mary was great! I wish there were more toppings on it, but the house mix was tasty so I had no complaints. I then got the avocado toast (with scrambled eggs) and then chicken sausage on the side. I dined outside as well as inside and was an equally good experience although with great weather the patio was very refreshing. I had the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch and substituted for the gluten free bread. Instead of fries, substituted the side salad. For breakfast I enjoyed the breakfast tacos. Tangerine was such a pleasant stop for brunch! If you're the area, it's worth a visit. I visited Tangerine around 11:30 a.m. on a Thursday in July with four other guests. We were immediately sat at a table inside. There is outdoor seating, too. I ordered the breakfast tacos with vegetables and breakfast potatoes and an iced chai latte. The food was absolutely delicious. The breakfast potatoes were cut in various sizes and were cooked a little crunchy on some sides, which I enjoyed. The chai latte was also one of the best I've ever had. So tasty! I spent about $25 on my meal. My fellow guests ordered various pancakes and the two eggs meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Tangerine's atmosphere is so cute and bright! The single-person bathrooms were also incredibly clean. There are two. Had a very nice midday meal here on the patio. My huevos rancheros were perfect. Set back in a little strip mall, you don't get a lot of road noise and parking is easy. Good place for breakfast, with an interesting menu and good coffee. Last time I had the Build Your Own Omelet with brie and bacon, tasty. It always annoys me that they don't include potatoes (omelets come with toast), so you have to ask if you can substitute toast for potatoes and cross your fingers you won't be charged extra (I was not). But the change was worth it, the potatoes were crisp and tasty. My daughter was not as excited with her plate, she was a little disappointed with her BLT Benedict, she said they are not as good as other places. It was our first time trying this restaurant today, and we will definitely be back!! Very veggie friendly with a robust menu. The service was great - within a minute or so of sitting down, we got water and our server came to greet us. He was very friendly and attentive to us the whole time. I got the veggie eggs Benedict which was absolutely delicious - the walnut pesto is yummy and the cooks don't skimp at all on loading it up with toppings. It was so tasty, and I left completely full. The potatoes that came with the dish were also good. My sister got the chef's veggie special with polenta and said it was tasty, though the rye toast came out burnt at first but nothing the server couldn't help fix. My mom got the veggie omelet and also said it was very filling. We also got one pumpkin pancake special which was delicious, though we were so full by the time we finished our meals that the pancake ended up coming home with us. Very aesthetically pleasing, though! We all ordered some coffee drinks which were tasty, but over $1 for plant-based milk is a bit high - however, for the most part I felt the prices were reasonable given the fresh food and portion sizes. For many years, we'd heard about this place through folks at our Boulder athletic club...but, somehow never got around to trying out the place...but, a few weeks ago, we finally made the time...and was so sorry we did...and now better understand why we never went before - disappointed!! Our only wish is that we would have been as pro-active as Katie R in her April 14th post - "I ended up canceling my order and walking out..." but, instead, we plodded through our meals...which were AWFUL - dry, flavorless "home fries" with some type of brown coating on them, eggs smooshed together (rather that the "scrambled" we ordered), oily, stringy spinach with more stems than greens, etc. We eat breakout out often...and agree with others - Tangerines in Boulder WAS VERY expensive...and, yeah, what's with that "Kitchen fee" - can't they squeeze a bit out of their already high prices to properly pay their kitchen staff - or can't they hide it in their costs so folks don't get to see how "cheezy" this approach of adding on non-published, extraneous fees is and how badly it comes across to customers? I have not been to Tangerine in many years and was excited to return for their GF Classic Benedict. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering this dish again. They must have changed the vendor for the GF English muffin. It tasted raw and doughy; basically stuck in my teeth. Everything else was excellent. The eggs were prepared perfectly, which is not easy to do. The Hollandaise sauce did not disappoint, and the kitchen took care to prevent cross contamination. I especially enjoyed the large serving of potatoes. In the past, Tangerine seemed to skimp on this. The orange slice was a nice touch but adding a bit more fruit to the plate would help with its presentation. Please consider finding another vendor for your GF English muffins so customers with celiac disease can enjoy this traditional dish. read more

I recommended lunch to a friend last Friday at Tangerine. it was disappointing. I had the Amalfi and she had the Polenta, both a variation of poached eggs. When our orders came, we were somewhat startled by the look. I wish I had taken pictures. Her eggs were bare and staring like two giant eyes, the sauces were on the side, and my plate was 2/3 fried potatoes- even though my eggs were on quinoa patties. The potatoes were fried, but neither tasty nor crisp. The pesto sauce was so-so. Usually the food is presented in a clean, fresh manner, with some fresh fruit. This was not. It looked murky and tasted murky. I also ordered a hot chai which was pre sweetened. It was too sweet for me. I will not order it again. If I want sweet, I will add a sweetener. My friend ate most of hers, I ate half - considering the large amount of mushy potatoes. Neither one of us asked for a doggy bag to take the rest home. As, I said, this was disappointing, it was not what was served in my earlier visits, only a few weeks ago. read more

This place used to be amazing when they would give you sourdough bread and jams with your meal. Lately it has just been meh quality wise. They also recently added in a 3% kitchen fee. It's so tacky when restaurants do this. Just pay your people and stop trying to nickel and dime your customer. We've been here multiple time, it's always just average. Today it was bad. Everyone's food was bland and overcooked except the bacon I asked for crispy; that was undercooked and soggy. The worst was the chicken and waffles. My husband had to use a steak knife to cut his waffle and the chicken was incredibly dry with no flavor. The service was friendly but subpar, our waitress forgot to bring us multiple items and kept having to come back. Coupled with their high prices, we aren't coming back. We stopped eating there for that reason and only tried it again because friends suggested it. We ate at the Longmont location with them and it was excellent. It is hard to find interesting vegan food in the Boulder area, and their vegan option is very good, or it was when I had it recently. I totally agree that it is outrageous to add fees to a bill claiming that this how they pay their staff!! So insulting!! Food and service was good, but they charge you a hidden "kitchen fee" that seems to be totally arbitrary. The menu on the bottom has some tiny fine text that says "we will charge some % as a kitchen fee", but there's 0 mention of what that % is. Strikes me as incredibly scummy business practice, and I won't be returning. If you're going to bump the entire menu by 4%, just bake it into the prices itself. When I sit down and I see a price, I expect to pay that price. Not that plus a hidden arbitrary "kitchen fee". It's a restaurant - a kitchen fee is simply the cost of your business - not something in addition to screw your customers out of 4%. Loved this place! Went for brunch and I got the caprese omelet with potatoes and an english muffin. The food and my lavender london fog was all very good! Part of what makes me like this place so much is the creativity and diversity of food and drinks on their menu. There are so many options (including lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes) and I've been so sick of every other breakfast place in Boulder having the same boring things. I have eaten at Tangerine several times over the last few years. At first glance it feels like a wanna be Snooze. (Another local breakfast spot in the area). But I have to say they really have managed to be their own thing. I am a pescatarian and I am happy to report there are several options to choose from. This morning I ordered the Walnut Pesto Veggie Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor of the pesto really shines through. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of spinach and Hollandaise they offered. I would come back here and order this meal in an instant. The coffee was delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. My server Savanah was super awesome, accommodating and attentive. My only gripe is they only offered Cholula and Tabasco hot sauces. While they are fine, I would expect a high-end eatery like Tangerine would have some awesome hot sauces. Maybe local favorites or an in-house spicy sauce. They did offer a vegetarian green chilie which was ok. I was happy it didn't have pork in it! But it wasn't amazing. I am a self-proclaimed chilie snob though. Overall, I am thankful it is available!
