Food is great, service amazing! Too bad company too cheap to pay kitchen help and puts their salaries onto customers!

A Hidden, unethical "kitchen fee" of 8% was added to the bill. This fee was undisclosed until the bill arrived. their ensure claims they added it because of wage increases and SOME of the fee goes to kitchen staff wages. Im guessing most lines their pockets. I would have been fine if my meal was simply $1 more. At least that's upfront, clear pricing. Adding a significant hidden fee at the end of a meal is deceitful and left me with a bad taste in my mouth, not something you want after a meal. We won't be back. read more

We live in Thornton and decided we had enough of take out. Heard Tangerine offered pods where you could still "dine in" in so to speak, so we decided to try it out. There was no wait on a Saturday morning although we would've been more than willing to wait if needed to have a pod. Food was great and the parking lot the pods were near was not busy, so it turned out to be a pretty nice morning. I tried the veggie eggs Benedict and they were great! We will be back! read more

We were looking forward to breakfast here. We ordered the blueberry ricotta pancakes. They were delicious with a rare swirl of ricotta on top and the most amazing blueberry jam. The smoked salmon Benedict was a little bit less interesting. They used hot smoked very salty salmon that they fried on the grill. It feels like it wanted lox. Can't wait to come in and try the new outdoor tent pods. Their food is always amazing, and so far during quarantine I have only ordered takeout from them. That being said, the takeout was packaged perfectly were nothing got soggy and the food was so warm and delicious. It was as good as it's ever been pre-Covid. I had The Vegan, a substantial breakfast. It has quite few ingredients, each making a contribution in flavor and nutrition. It had tempeh, a great mildly nutty uncarved block for flavorings, in this case, flavored with caponata ingredients. The dish also included sautéed spinach, potatoes, pintos and both a red romesco and a green pesto, along with some fresh arugula. The turmeric latte is brilliant. Another Yelp review drew me here and enabled me to know about a turmeric latte! I'm not set up at home to steam milk, so I hope this idea spreads to a place near me! I would not say that the meal I ordered falls onto the light and raw realm, always welcome. But it has healthy ingredients hewing to traditional heavy restaurant breakfast fare. This location is not downtown, which means parking in their lot is easy. The restaurant opens early. It seems popular at breakfast for business meetings, laptopping and get togethers between friends. I'm not understanding the negative reviews here. I mean, is it fair to give a restaurant a low rating when you've only visited once and perhaps the service wasn't up to par that one time? A friend lives right by Tangerine, so I've been here quite a few times - for either a meal, or just to grab a beverage at the bar. It is on the pricier side for what it is, however, everything I've eaten here is so tasty, to me it's worth it. Pros: Delicious lattes. "Tasty" gluten-free pancakes (gluten is the glue that keeps baked goods together so I always give a little frown to GF pancakes, but they are fancied up with tasty butters and toppings, so I can't be too upset.) Yummy breakfast sandwiches and my new favorite breakfast plate is the beets with collard greens and carrots (?) with a side of yukon gold potatoes. Drool-worthy. This place is almost always packed so be prepared for a wait and don't get your knickers in a wad. read more

Also the ease of parking your vehicle in Boulder, we gave this place a try. Within the first 10 mins I already know this was going to be less than 3-star experience. Con - -Food took 45 mins to come after ordering, this is not on a weekend and not a full house. -Cold potatoes on the plate. -Steak was underdone. -Our waiter charged our bill incorrectly. -The food was not worth the price. This place is overall poorly managed. The waiter we had was nice and friendly but the kitchen took almost an hour to get our food out. Unfortunately in this case, kitchen counts as service as well. It sucked! When asked when our food is out, all he could say was, 'soon.' I ordered the steak and eggs. First of all, where is my 'effing' steak? I don't want 5 small slices of flank-looking things, I want a STEAK. I ordered to have it cooked to medium and it came out more like rare, not even medium rare. It took my food 45 mins to come out I don't want to have to send it back and wait another 45 mins. It was not very well seasoned either, it tasted like they just barely cooked the outside without any seasoning. The polenta was piping hot, but the potatoes were not even luke warm. Really? I can do a better job than that and I'm not professionally trained. I have too many other places to eat at in Boulder for great breakfast/brunch option, I doubt I would ever come back for food. I do really enjoy their chai with soy milk. They grate tangerine/orange peels and cook it with their homemade chai, I will probably come back to pick one of those up... that's too bad Tangerine. Loved this restaurant!! We needed some great vegetable options, and theirs did not disappoint... Hubby got a meal with pinto beans, two eggs and a bunch of sauteed veggies (beets, carrots, collard greens, etc.). I got the short rib benedict, which had collard greens, onions, and the gf english muffin was very yummy, too. Both meals came with delicious, well- spiced, potatoes. He got a turmeric latte with almond milk and I got French press coffee (it was perfect and strong). Wish we could go back here before leaving town! Our waiter was also wonderful. We arrived early on Sunday and were able to get seated in one of the cozy, heated, outdoor COVID safe pods (photo attached). Made for a wonderful and safe dining experience. They don't take reservations, so the pods are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We also fully enjoyed our breakfast there. Great service, great food, and very safe! read more

I was going to add like an egg or something but it was fulfilling all on its on. My friend really liked the pear French toast but she did say she couldn't taste much of the spiced pear flavoring that she was hoping for. A quick update. I finally did finally try some pancakes and I loved them. Though I put an egg on top anyway, for the protein, sunnyside this time but I think in the future I'd stick to poached. The sunnyside was a little undercooked for my taste. However, my pancakes were well done, just the way I like them. I hope this is their standard because I really prefer this texture. If you prefer wetter pancakes, check when you order. I had the blueberry lemon ricotta pancake platter and had the blueberry sauce on the side. The lemon ricotta is actually a spoonful of topping on each of 3 traditional blueberry pancakes. I was so pleased because the fresh lemon ricotta was a nice savory touch. And the blueberry sauce was not overly sweet like some I have had elsewhere. And thick, like a berry preserve. This is something I will definitely get again. read more

My side of collard greens was cold and tasted bad and was enough food to feed a baby mouse. My friends breakfast burrito was also bad the tortilla was hard as a rock. Their menu is expansive and a feast for the imagination -- lemon and ricotta pancakes, tempeh scramble, a variety of benedicts (veggie, salmon, trout and apple?!). While they have an array of vegetarian/vegan options, the meals are not of the fou fou variety -- expect a full plate of food. I ordered the veggie benedict which comes with home fries. It was a generous portion and hit the spot for a hearty start to a Sunday. The home fries are well-seasoned and come with ketchup from Denver. The plating could use some work as it was pretty sloppy. Their French toast also came out luke warm. They had a sign that they were in need of a sous chef and line cook so they may be short staffed. I do commend them for their ability to churn out meals to a large crowd with minimal wait. 4 stars for the variety of the menu including veggie options, the quick turnaround during brunch hour, and large portions! read more

This is my go-to brunch spot in Boulder. I love it. They have an excellent variety of options and they go beyond the typical breakfasts that you find everywhere else. The portions are huge and everything on your plate will be delicious. My two favorite dishes (both vegetarian) are the Polenta and Romesco and the Roots, Greens,& Beans. Both are so flavorful and a nice change from the boring options you see elsewhere. Their braised collard greens are so good, and I also love their home fries. They have excellent jams on the table to enjoy with your toast. Once seated our waiter came fairly quickly and he did subtly warn us that the kitchen was backed up. But this is a breakfast / lunch place. How long can it take to put an egg on some lettuce and make a pancake? Apparently here it takes more than an hour! The wait was ridiculous for mediocre food. Yes the food was average and it was definitely not worth the wait. This is not a staff issue. It is a management issue. Don't seat people unless you can serve them. We love the Longmont and Lafayette locations. Great staff great food. The Boulder relocation however has been a disappointment. The food is good but the staff is grumpy and just not friendly. We were there with friends we had not seen in a very long time. Eventually the manager asked us to leave. That's fair. However the comment of "other people need to eat" was highly unnecessary and unprofessional. It's ok you can ask us to vacate the table not a problem but for goodness sake no need to be snarky. Tangerine is a bright, healthy breakfast spot located in North Boulder! They have an adorable patio with lots of nice flowers that is in the shade in the mornings. I'm always surprised by how there usually isn't too long of a wait here. When I went last weekend, the kitchen had an issue but still managed to get my my food in a timely manner!! They have a private area for special events, or for large reservations. If you're thinking about going here, I would highly recommend the corn beef hash - they have great fresh fruit as well!! read more

Delicious and varied gluten free breakfast places are not easy to find. Tangerine is, hands down, one of my favorites out there. The GF pancakes and waffles are GOOD. The interior has a small, cute diner feel on the inside. Service is usually quick and on-top of anything you need. Great restaurant located in Boulder recommended by my niece. Slightly tucked away in a plaza, Tangerine was a great place to end my culinary adventure while visiting Colorado. Upon entering, staff was very friendly and my party of 3 was immediately seated. Fresh hot coffee was poured and menu recommendations were given. What immediately caught my eye was the eggs Benedict. The other choices for my party included the chicken and waffles, as well as the breakfast special omelette. Loved the convenience of how servers carry tablets and immediately place your order. Within 15 minutes, our plates of delicious food were brought out and the taste testing began. Everything had great flavor and the sourdough toast with the homemade jam was amazing.
