Located inside the Avanti food hall. The food here was definitely lacking. The gyro was different as it definitely wasn't made with a pita and seemed more like a flour tortilla. The overall build of the "gyro" was odd as it wasn't properly layered. So one bite would be straight meat and more towards the bottom was just all tomato and cucumber. And the very bottom was just straight feta. The baba ganoush was awful in my opinion. It did not taste like smoked eggplant at all and more like a chickpea hummus and was topped with so many sesame seeds which was not needed. There was also a thick amount of residual oil in the bowl. The pita was the best part of this meal. The young man taking our order was great and friendly but the food is not that great. It was an easy and quick option rather than a sit down meal. So you definitely get what you pay for.

Muhummara takeout for sharing at home

Just a quick update that the muhummara really stands out. The fresh warm pita and the chilled crunch of the walnuts, the herbal pop of the mint and cilantro on top and the creamy base of sweet peppers, sultanas and pomegranate molasses is a real treat. I serve if often to guests who always devour it. It may be hard to find in some other cities but try Mediterranean eateries wherever you are. I've had another version even in Boulder but is no longer available and the better one has survived. Lots of their other food are favorites too and though this is a single kitchen of a very casual food hall , you can count on the redness and quality. There are tables nearby though we do take-out predominantly.

Found in the Avanti complex, Boychik was delicious!! Chicken shawarma was flavorful, not dry at all, falafel had a great crunch. Super friendly staff, quick service. Fast, casual spot- you can enjoy the food upstairs with some fresh air

Good experience at the Boychik near our house at the Stanley Marketplace, happened to be at the Avanti in Boulder and decided to try it up here. It tasted even better than I remember with everything coming out fresh and quickly. Plate was loaded with hummus veggies and meat. Two pitas was the perfect amount as well to pair. The falafel was very good and definitely homemade. It was a heavy hand on the cilantro but it didn't over power the dish or anything. You do have to be careful of the green sauce as it is hot and it would have been better in the side of the falafels rather than on top. It was also hidden in my Schwarma plate and surprised me haha

My kids LOVE the pita and hummus (and the grownups in our family do too). Mostly the kids love the pita, we always order extra!

This was one of the two spots my husband and I tried at Avanti food hall. We shared the Lamb Hummus Bowl. I love a hummus bowl and this one didn't disappoint. The lamb was the perfect addition to the hummus. I loved the seasoning on it. I would happily come back here again and try more of the menu.

I don't know why more people aren't talking about this place! It has fantastic middle eastern food, beautifully plated, served quickly and price is fair. I had the falafel plate and the falafels were crunchy and perfect, the zhoug was a little spicy and perfect for dipping them in. Their hummus was some of the best I've tried and they give you so much of it, served with warm, soft delicious pita. You also get some flavourful cucumber tomato salad and a quinoa tabouleh salad topped with pickled red onions (better than traditional tabouleh if you ask me) P.S. you can park in the parking garage off of 14th and spruce and avanti will give you a code to cover the cost of parking (you do need to put in your credit card first but it won't charge you). Definitely recommend for easy free parking

Falafel bowl is delicious! The falafels melt in your mouth and not dry at all. The hummus was very tasty. Full write up on Rent Live Play's website.

Came here after our hike in boulder around 4:30 on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy at this time. We got a parking space around the block and then walked. Inside the avanti is nice with lots of places to eat. I ordered the chicken wrap with a side of fries. I really enjoyed the wrap! It was pretty filling and the flavors worked well. The fries were good but the seasoning was a little strong. The prices were okay about ~$25 with tip after splitting the fries with my friend. Overall a good meal but I don't think anything super special

The Chicken Shawarma Plate packed so much flavor! Each item had a different texture the chicken was tender and juicy, while the hummus and green sauce were creamy and had so much spice (not hot spicy), and the salad was fresh and crunchy! I would definitely come here again. Seating on the weekend is hard since it gets busy, and Avanti is pretty loud inside as well.

Chicken shawarma plate is amazing!! Definitely recommend. Honestly the best pita i have literally ever tasted

Since moving back to CO from CA, I've been dying to find good spots with this type of cuisine. Ali…read moreBaba Grill exceeded my expectations when we visited in person. We have since ordered take out, but I probably wouldn't do that again. It's not packaged in a way that maintains the quality as much and the salads are packaged inside the hot meals instead of separately, so we didn't really get to eat that. However, their food, especially the kabobs of all meats, are delicious. Their hummus is top tier! They are also extremely friendly, with a very clean environment inside.

Lately, when I get hungry I tend to think of this cuisine. As if to say that I was led to it by some invisible force, like a magnet, I made a u turn to get on the east bound lane to rush to it. A small restaurant but on the outside, I sensed some authenticity. After taking a few photos of its exterior, I stepped inside with high anticipation. On Yelp, it's got a solid 4-star rating left by the past diners/takeouters. Sounds promising. A young lady upfront said a quick hi followed by a question "For here or to-go?" to which I said "to-go. The menu has a good selection of both small (appetizer) plates to entrees. Their menus are somewhat fancy booklet style. Depending on the item, there are some accompanying photos of them. I wanted at least a few items so I went with 1) Fava Beans ($9 from the Appetizer section) and 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo ($17 from the Entree section.) And for the next 45 min (from Boulder to Denver) on a beautiful mid Sunday afternoon, I had go through a very agonizing time smelling the mouthwatering smell of the two dishes while I was fighting the traffic jam caused by an accident on 36. Once I was home though, I wasted no time to savor the two dishes. And this is how my early dinner went: 1) Fava Beans - this dish could utilize more seasoning. It's a little bland or I should say boring. On the positive note, it does taste clean and healthy. I do like simple in many cases where I abhor something that's oversalted. That said, this dish pass my taste test. At the same time, it's definitely not something I highly recommend. 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo - I can comfortably say that this is a solid dish. There are two falafels that are triangular shaped (never seen them shaped like that). Both baba ghonouj and hummus are in the top two compartments portioned generously. In the main compartment, house salad, rice and tabbouleh are beautifully and carefully placed. One large pita bread that was cut in half was in a piece of foil separately so it wouldn't get soggy. Oh let's not forget, there was one grape leaf on top of the tabbouleh which I saved it for the last. When I finally ate it, I realized that this is/was the star item of the whole combo plate. I've eaten super oily grape leaves that are too soggy in oils but this was perfectly moist and yet not oily. Small and yet it was dense inside. Wish the plate came with two of them. A little suggestion I would like to make to the restaurant (so I hope the restaurant owner read this!!) These two dishes lasted for three meal occasions until dinner time next day. The value for the total price of $23 (before tax) is pretty hard to beat in this high inflation time especially in a city like Boulder. To me, this is a solid 4-star experience.

Response to owner's comment:…read more There is a claim that Babajoon's quality is so much higher than all Mediterranean places to explain their exorbitant prices. I've had better quality Mediterranean food all from the following places that all sell their incredibly filling, fresh pita sandwiches for cheaper: - Sonny's Mediterranean #1 with hummus & tahini with falafel $12, chicken $14. Was one of the best pita sandwiches I've ever had and 100% fresh made ingredients, my wife couldn't even finish hers because of how full it was. My wife, the one that complained by how under filled and unsatisfying the chicken pita was at Babajoon's to your cashier who handed us food, who just walked away and did nothing. - Pita Central: an entirely make your own Pita sandwich place with owners having moved here from Greece recently, with imported pita from Greece and the best tzatziki I've ever had, with a chicken pita costing $13, falafel $9.50, Lamb&Beef $14. You can stand there and ask them to put more veggies and more veggies in your pita of whatever you choose. Excellent, fresh made mediterranean food from even better people, the owners will chat with you for literally 5 minutes after serving you. - Mumtaz: Chicken pita $13.50, with great friendly service. This place was so good I've told my wife we have to go back. The above 3 restaurants are just ones I've ate at in the past few months, all with much more filling portions, much more affordable, they don't charge $.75 for hot sauce and none of them had as dry or overcooked or seemingly microwaved chicken. Babajoon's has a better pita, but to charge for every last ingredient that gets added to my pita with a base price of $15 for a chicken pita with vegetables that looked sad and underfilled and 5 small pieces of chicken, something is wrong. A pita is supposed to look overflowing with veggies and meat or falafel and held together by paper. If you provided better food for value, I'd be eating at your place over and over. You're lying to me, yourself and your customers. You can delete your lies in your response, and I'll delete my comment and we can just move on.
