11/30/24- Stopped in while doing holiday shopping. Giving them 3 stars as an average score. I've had better and I've had worse. Their soda machine wasn't working. Also their Tzatziki was super watery and tasted more like watered down ranch then any Tzatziki I've ever had before. I stole one of my mom's falafels to try. She got the better meal between us. These were minor things and I would be willing to try them again, but I would order the falafels.

Meh-I've had better. The chicken and rice was pretty good. Cooked fresh to order but the hummus left something to be desired. A little too watery and grainy. As if the chickpeas weren't cooked enough. Veg was fresh tho and service was very friendly!

When I went to the food court this last time I was thrilled to find Kabora which was new to me and I was craving some Middle Eastern food.

This place caught my family and I off guard. I ordered them last night on DoorDash thinking I'd be…read morea little more adventurous than I normally am, by trying something new. We ordered a handful of kabobs, dolmas, salad, rice and home made bread. The Afghani type green sauce paired quite well with the meat selection, and the value was there. I am enthralled to try more options on the menu. The lamb, chicken and beef were all tender and to die for.

Four of us dined at this restaurant on Thanksgiving . It looks plain but the atmosphere is homey ,…read moreit's very clean . The gracious server/owner- Muhammed said they had been open about 2 months. It wasn't busy at that time, the street was all tore up with construction which plays havoc with those small businesses. We had an appetizer of grape leaves, which were fresh and large; which my hubby enjoyed either the spicy green sauce. Except for my sandwich , a small side of hummus was also served with the dinner plates. My hubby had Mantu which were like beef dumplings but served with a small very fresh side salad . We all received salads which had a zesty Mediterranean style vinaigrette . My Pakistani roomie had the chicken schwarma plate with rice as he had been craving it for a while . He isn't a big eater but he ate almost all of it. His uncle had lamb kabobs that looked crispy and filling served with rice plus pita bread was served for all three of their dinners . The pita bread was sooo good ! Fluffy - tasty . I had the chicken schwarma and added a side of fries - skip the fries lol. Also I ordered a side of tzatziki sauce and a huge side of it came out . The sandwich had a spicy green sauce and was served with, I believe ,homemade hummus. The spicy sauce has a little kick but it's not extreme as I can't handle stupidly hot anymore . I added the tzatziki sauce and it was luscious with fresh veggies , spices and chicken . The bread was a bit soggy from the green sauce and veggies . Eat it quickly ! Everyone enjoyed their meal it was a relaxed casual atmosphere. It is a 100 percent halal and they even have pizza . Go support this wonderful family business . I am no expert on this type of cuisine but yummm!

Situated in this run-down strip mall that is desperately needing some upgrades, the restaurant…read morequietly exists with so much humility. Despite its image, however, the reviews left by previous customers are solid. This convinced me to try them on one Saturday evening. Its inside is very simple with interior like an old Middle Eastern diner feel. They could utilize more decorations to indicate the kind of cuisine (Afghanistan) they represent/boast and yet, that may not be their focus. Most of all, what's important is the "heart", the food to say it precisely. A few tables were occupied by eat-in diners which I noticed upon entry. I wasted no time by proceeding to the front where they take orders. A young man there greeted me. I told him I was in for a to-go order. I thus adding said to him that I would need a minute to decide. As I took the time to study the menu I noticed that the prices of the dishes were quite reasonable. And yet it was hard to gauge the portions of them. I shall see when I get my food though. By the time I had been back to the register after solidifying as to what I would want, a different young man was upfront. He was also polite and welcoming but not to the over-the-top way. His "generic" type of gesture was good enough. I told him what I wanted 14. Lamb Tikka Kabob ($13.99 as of early April of 2026). He said it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. It was quite right on time when my food came out of the kitchen. Once I had the chance, I started my dinner. Let me quickly summarize the food here: -Portion: Quite good. If mere $13.99 buys this size of food, I would go for it often. -Food quality: Whereas I wouldn't describe it as "excellent" or "exquisite", the plate was filled with good flavors. Everything from the meat to the rice to the salad to the hummus, the quality was solid. The naan bread, however, was quite small and thin (thought they could be a bit more generous.) Is this a typical Afghani style bread? Not sure. I am not versed in the Afghani cuisine (as I've already hinted a bit.) Whether or not I am speaking about the authenticity of the very culinary traditions/styles correctly, this might be as the closest Afghani eatery gem as you can find in this part of town. I don't know how long this restaurant has been around but my assumption is that it's not overexposed to the public eye just yet. Despite the fact that it's located on this busy intersection of Quebec and Evans/Iliff, King of Shawarma & Kabob is indeed a humble business. And yes, I will return to it when I think of reasonably priced solid Middle Eastern food next time.
