    Chicken shawarma sandwich

We got a chicken gyro and a platter. Flavors and portions were great, though the food was super salty. Still a solid find and we're planning on giving it another shot to see if the saltiness was a one-time thing. Staff were nice & food was ready quickly!

Meh-I've had better. The chicken and rice was pretty good. Cooked fresh to order but the hummus left something to be desired. A little too watery and grainy. As if the chickpeas weren't cooked enough. Veg was fresh tho and service was very friendly!

11/30/24- Stopped in while doing holiday shopping. Giving them 3 stars as an average score. I've had better and I've had worse. Their soda machine wasn't working. Also their Tzatziki was super watery and tasted more like watered down ranch then any Tzatziki I've ever had before. I stole one of my mom's falafels to try. She got the better meal between us. These were minor things and I would be willing to try them again, but I would order the falafels.

When I went to the food court this last time I was thrilled to find Kabora which was new to me and I was craving some Middle Eastern food.

Situated in this run-down strip mall that is desperately needing some upgrades, the restaurant…read morequietly exists with so much humility. Despite its image, however, the reviews left by previous customers are solid. This convinced me to try them on one Saturday evening. Its inside is very simple with interior like an old Middle Eastern diner feel. They could utilize more decorations to indicate the kind of cuisine (Afghanistan) they represent/boast and yet, that may not be their focus. Most of all, what's important is the "heart", the food to say it precisely. A few tables were occupied by eat-in diners which I noticed upon entry. I wasted no time by proceeding to the front where they take orders. A young man there greeted me. I told him I was in for a to-go order. I thus adding said to him that I would need a minute to decide. As I took the time to study the menu I noticed that the prices of the dishes were quite reasonable. And yet it was hard to gauge the portions of them. I shall see when I get my food though. By the time I had been back to the register after solidifying as to what I would want, a different young man was upfront. He was also polite and welcoming but not to the over-the-top way. His "generic" type of gesture was good enough. I told him what I wanted 14. Lamb Tikka Kabob ($13.99 as of early April of 2026). He said it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. It was quite right on time when my food came out of the kitchen. Once I had the chance, I started my dinner. Let me quickly summarize the food here: -Portion: Quite good. If mere $13.99 buys this size of food, I would go for it often. -Food quality: Whereas I wouldn't describe it as "excellent" or "exquisite", the plate was filled with good flavors. Everything from the meat to the rice to the salad to the hummus, the quality was solid. The naan bread, however, was quite small and thin (thought they could be a bit more generous.) Is this a typical Afghani style bread? Not sure. I am not versed in the Afghani cuisine (as I've already hinted a bit.) Whether or not I am speaking about the authenticity of the very culinary traditions/styles correctly, this might be as the closest Afghani eatery gem as you can find in this part of town. I don't know how long this restaurant has been around but my assumption is that it's not overexposed to the public eye just yet. Despite the fact that it's located on this busy intersection of Quebec and Evans/Iliff, King of Shawarma & Kabob is indeed a humble business. And yes, I will return to it when I think of reasonably priced solid Middle Eastern food next time.

We ordered a koobideh sandwich with fries, an Adana kebab plate with baba ghanoush, and a salad. My husband asked if we could have a traditional Turkish shepherd's (çoban) salad, but instead we received a few slices of tomato and cucumber served alongside a single skewer of beef. To make matters worse, the koobideh and Adana turned out to be the exact same kebab. When we asked, the server confirmed they were essentially the same item with different names. The baba ghanoush was served by itself with nothing to eat it with. When we requested bread, we were given a microwaved pita and charged an additional $3. Our total bill was $39, which might sound reasonable, but the value simply wasn't there. The server repeatedly mentioned how understaffed they were, there was no traditional Turkish salad on the menu, and dips were served without bread unless you paid extra. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations. There are much better places in Denver to spend your money.

We did not have the lunch buffet, because we were planning to order off the menu. We ordered Chicken Korma Spicy Hot, and Chicken Korma Mild. Besides the two entrees, we ordered Plain naan and cheese naan. When the food came, they placed the bowls and plates and left. When we dug in, the food was not correct. We kept eating the bread. My plain naan was old and crispy hard. My friend's cheese naan was soft and fresh. When the server finally came back, I inquired what we were served. Unknown to our server, my spouse is an Indian, so I am very familiar with Indian dishes. Her response was this is chicken korma. I explained that not only was the sauce wrong, it had no cashews, nor raisins, nor a proper flavor. Her only response was to say it was correct. It was chicken curry with cream stirred in. It was not chicken korma. My order was not spicy at all. Now I know that Indians do not order spicy korma, but that is my palate. We left their feeling like we had a horrible lunch. Other restaurants try to pull the wool over patron's eyes becuase Americans don't always know the flavors and dishes of Indian cuisine. Needless to say, I tried contacting the person on their website to air my concerns in a private manner, but the email is invalid! So here I am! Lastly, the meals we ordered were more expensive than the curries or the daals, so we also felt cheated! I will not go again!

We were there right when the restaurant opened for the day. None of the food that should be hot temperature was hot. Instead, everything was lukewarm. I personally had a concern for food safety. The Dahl soup was like colored water with no body or lentils at all. There were beef meatballs, in the Indian sauce. I swear the meatballs tasted identical to Costco beef meatballs. I like Costco meatballs. I just don't think they should be found in an Indian buffet. None of the food was great. The tandoori chicken was OK but the fact that it was barely warm was off putting. Service was good. But I would rather have properly heated food with great flavor than to have good service at a buffet. Another thing that was most annoying was it sounded like a vacuum was running much of the time, and it was so loud that we could barely carry on a conversation and it was actually hurting my ears. Keep in mind the restaurant had just opened for the day. Why did they need to do all that vacuuming at the beginning of the day? We will not be back.
