I was craving Persian food and was thrilled to discover Babajoon was conveniently located near my office. I indulged in a variety of dishes to sample the diverse menu. Pretty disappointing for the price. We were three people and the total came to around $100, which felt way too high for what we got. Each main dish was about $20, but the prices kept adding up with small charges, $10 for kashk-e-bademjoon that didn't even come with bread (they charged $3 just for one piece!). The special of the day was albaloo polo, but it had only a few sour cherries and small bits of chicken mixed with a lot of broth and onions, which made the rice soggy. The ghormeh sabzi tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the steak kabob. Response to owner's comment: There is a claim that Babajoon's quality is so much higher than all Mediterranean places to explain their exorbitant prices. I've had better quality Mediterranean food all from the following places that all sell their incredibly filling, fresh pita sandwiches for cheaper: - Sonny's Mediterranean #1 with hummus & tahini with falafel $12, chicken $14. Was one of the best pita sandwiches I've ever had and 100% fresh made ingredients, my wife couldn't even finish hers because of how full it was. My wife, the one that complained by how under filled and unsatisfying the chicken pita was at Babajoon's to your cashier who handed us food, who just walked away and did nothing. - Pita Central: an entirely make your own Pita sandwich place with owners having moved here from Greece recently, with imported pita from Greece and the best tzatziki I've ever had, with a chicken pita costing $13, falafel $9.50, Lamb&Beef $14. You can stand there and ask them to put more veggies and more veggies in your pita of whatever you choose. Excellent, fresh made mediterranean food from even better people, the owners will chat with you for literally 5 minutes after serving you. - Mumtaz: Chicken pita $13.50, with great friendly service. This place was so good I've told my wife we have to go back. The above 3 restaurants are just ones I've ate at in the past few months, all with much more filling portions, much more affordable, they don't charge $.75 for hot sauce and none of them had as dry or overcooked or seemingly microwaved chicken. Babajoon's has a better pita, but to charge for every last ingredient that gets added to my pita with a base price of $15 for a chicken pita with vegetables that looked sad and underfilled and 5 small pieces of chicken, something is wrong. A pita is supposed to look overflowing with veggies and meat or falafel and held together by paper. If you provided better food for value, I'd be eating at your place over and over. I wasn't able to take photos of my dish but it was delicious! I ordered Babajoon's Chicken Salad. I could have ordered this dish without the chicken and been just as satisfied with the meal, which would make for a great vegan option. This was a large sized portion including greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onion. The lemon dressing was light and complimented the salad perfectly. I would guess there were herbs such as oregano added and garlic to really make this dish pop. I love a salad that is both filling AND Babajoon's service was friendly and welcoming. This gem was fantastic! Their homemade bread was mouthwatering coming out of a clay oven. The koobideh (ground lamb/beef) was juicy and flavorful and the rice was perfect. The lentil soup was divine so rich and light/ packed with flavors. Highly recommend everything on the menu! We had Babajoon's cater our wedding on June 21st. They were absolutely FANTASTIC. Arrived on time and delivered flawlessly to our venue. And the food was delicious! All of our guests absolutely raved about how flavorful and delicious the food was. Many of our guests have never had Persian food and I think we may have given some people a new food they love! We cannot thank Babajoon's enough for their clear communication, fantastic service, and absolutely delicious food! Would highly recommend having them cater your next event, they were generous with the quantities of food served, we had plenty leftover for midnight snacks. This place is a hidden gem. The koobideh and joojeh are so well seasoned, moist and tender. I highly recommend. The place itself is casual dining which I love, especially since I have a baby. I love that I can still get great quality Iranian food and not be stressed that it's too fancy to have my kid with me. I really really wanted to give this restaurant 4 stars and I definitely would do that for the food! The gal who was taking the order at the register was quite off-putting. She was not gracious with our lack of knowledge of the menu (it was our first time at the restaurant) and showed no enthusiasm or pleasure in being there this evening. In fact she sort of mocked my niece for questions on the menu. The food however was delicious! I don't know how they cook their rice but it is perfect and so very flavorful! I also really enjoyed the chicken and found it to be very flavorful also without being over powering. It's a cute restaurant and I will likely go back for the wonderful food. They have signs up, but be aware that the pricing on the menus is incorrect- they have had to bump prices by about 20%, so be aware of that when you are purchasing- it surprised my husband. Not their fault, but so be aware. Every thing was so good and flavorful! My husband and I shared the sultani Kings Beef kabob with rice, a side of bread, and the zoolbia and bamieh dessert. The beef kabob was two long strips of beef cut and seasoned to perfection, super tender. The rice was nice and soft, long grain, but I think we would have been happy with just the bread. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE BREAD. It's thin but yeasty, with a touch of wheat that is *chefs kiss*. Apparently they have a custom oven to make it. The desserts were like a pastry- donut and maybe a funnel cake, but soaked in honey so they were gooey and sweet. I loved them but might try the ice cream next time. Thought I would try this place out. I wanted falafel's, which are not on the menu, but just have to ask for them. I felt they were good with a middle Eastern taste. I am ruined for life! My husband brought me here for our 21st anniversary celebratory lunch. I ordered beef kabob's with salad. My husband ordered chicken and lamb kabobs with salad. We also shared their hummus plate. It was superb! I was expecting a less than memorable salad and it was fantastic, fresh, crisp, seasoned perfectly, and just the right amount of dressing. Always looking up support other Persians when traveling for work. Here from DC area. Location is close to my hotel, ordered kabob combo and Ghormeh Sabzi for next day. Wait was too long. Was told they were out of meat for sultani.... Owner was working alone in the kitchen. He could use some help. I was frustrated until they handed my order to me. the aroma of Ghormeh Sabzi calmed my anger for extra long wait. Highly recommend this dish. Suggest the owner get help during dinner hour. Make sure prices match by updating the menu. Don't understand the extra 9% fee on top of price increases for everything on the menu. Just update the prices!! read more

Loved the place!! We were driving back from Rocky Mountain national park, via Westminster to Kansas City. While looking for places to stop at for lunch, we saw the 4.5 stars for babajoon on Yelp- and were so happy we chose this place! Welcoming staff, clean place and amazing (and healthy!!) food!! We got the beef (kobeodah) and chicken kabob plate; with sides of rice, naan and salad. Everything was delicious; both the beef and chicken kabob were flavorful and super moist! A bit pricey but the positions filled the plate, enough that we have leftovers so it's a good value overall. We tried the steak and chicken platters and hummus plate. Pretty decent. I'd give it a 2.5-3 star. Food could've been A LOT HOTTER. I like having to blow my food because it's so hot. It was lukewarm at best hence the low rating. Grilled tomatoes were pre-grilled and cold. Koobideh was lukewarm. Only my chicken was hot. Everything is priced 18% higher than listed which was shady. Also, have to pay for onions which should be complimentary. Mastokhiar was nice to come with the plate. I'd return only IF my food was hotter and fresher. The food is always fresh and delicious every time, one of our favorite places to eat when we don't feel like cooking.

My husband and I got take out this past Saturday for lunch. Everyone working was wearing a mask the proper way, and there were only two tables of people eating inside. Our food was ready in roughly ten minutes, and was perfect as always. Two skewers of kubideh (which I would happily eat on a daily basis because it's that good), grilled onion, grilled tomato, and tasty, tasty bread. It's not quite the same experience when you're snarfing it in your car, but I'm just happy to be able to continue eating such great food. read more

We both really enjoyed our protein choices and were really impressed with how large the included salads were! A really healthy and flavorful meal. The rice and pita were okay. A little bland.
