We ordered the lamb gyro and the falafel. At $5.95 a piece, they were a decent price, but there wasn't much to them- some lettuce, some tomato, pita, a little bit of taziki sauce, and the lamb or falafel patties. Nothing super flavorful or interesting about either- the falafel was a little dry and don't have enough sauce on it. The peanut butter and chocolate baklava tasted like a reeces cup melted with some phyllo dough around it. Asked for a glass of water and was told that I could only buy a bottle of water. Was disappointed that they no longer offered kanafeh for dessert, they only had various baklava. Overall, not somewhere I would recommend or return to, unless I was in the area and looking for something affordable.

Second time coming here during Covid-19 being only take out only, I obviously came back so I thought it was good enough. Kibbi was fine. Not my favorite. I just wish there was more seasoning in the meat. The chicken shawarma sandwich in a pita with hummus and lettuce was really good. It was seasoned well. I also recommend the chocolate baklava. We got it the first time we were there. It is not traditional, but who can say no to chocolate. As far as Covid measures, they followed them well. Take out only. I ordered through Yelp and went to pick it up. They are wearing masks and hand sanitizer when I got there. I really hope they can survive this shutdown.

Have to say this was not what I expected. The amount of hummas to chicken is off there's more hummas than chicken. The flavors were great but the hummas was a little watery. I'm so glad there was salad but I was expecting rice. Overall I don't think I'd come back here.

20 Years of Searching - Finally Found It!…read more I've lived in Colorado for 20 years, and I've been dying to find a Persian restaurant that matches King Kebab in Sacramento. Well, I finally found it - Baba Joon Kebabs! I actually drove pretty far from my side of town just to get this food, so I was really excited to taste it. And let me tell you - it did not disappoint. The rice was beautiful, the sauce was perfect, the naan (the bread) was very tasty - everything was just spot on. I didn't have time to dine in, so I ordered takeout. I gave some to my daughter to try, and she fell in love with Persian food on the spot. Then I gave it to my high school daughter, and she loved it too. This was their first time trying Iranian food, and they're already hooked. I didn't get to try the lamb shank this time, but next time I'm going straight for it. And honestly, I need to go back, sit down, and really enjoy eating at the restaurant the way it's meant to be experienced. I highly recommend people give Baba Joon Kebab a try. This is one of those cultural foods you need to have in Denver or in Colorado. Because let's be real - Colorado is a fast food state. It doesn't have much cultural food like this. This is one of the cultural foods you'll actually love. And shout out to the Iranian family running it - they did a great job. Very, very good food. If you do the lamb shank right - and from what I tasted, I bet you do - you have my blessing to go. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

The order process online went smoothly and the food was ready promptly. I was disappointed by the gyro and ended up not eating it. For the uninitiated, a gyro sandwich is a pita bread filled with gyro meat, tzatziki sauce, and sometimes lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The meat is made of a blend of seasoned lamb and beef meat molded around a vertical spit. The spit rotates and the outside is exposed to a heat source. As the meat broils, the chef carves off slices or chunks from the sections that have browned. Typically the gyro meat is cooked to "well done." The meat in my gyro was not browned; rather it was lighter colored and had a mealy mouthfeel. I've eaten gyros in traditional Greek restaurants and casual eateries in Chicago, Austin, San Francisco Bay Area, and now Denver, and this was the first time I've tasted the meat cooked this way. Three stars because the restaurant looked well kept and reasonably clean, the service was polite, and it's possible other people are not bothered by manner of preparation of the gyro. I also ordered a side of hummus and it was good.
