    Falafel entree

It seems Pointless to review this too often but it's consistently a five star experience. We come every time we are in Golden for a hike. Service is always spot on. Some newer staff but great service. Chicken shawarma platter with half hummus and half baba s a favorite. The two skewer platter with chicken always makes me happy. Rice. Hummus. Salad. We always start with the falafel which could be a meal in itself. Well done. Crunchy and soft served with tahini or hummus. My favorite thing here. The fresh hot bread or pita is always piping hot out of the oven and more than enough for two. This is really one of the things that separates Amir from other Lebanese or middle eastern restaurants. It's crazy good. Love. Love. Love. This place.

It's been a minute since I ate Lebanese and Mediterranean food, but this was a good reminder of why I love the food. Here, you're getting great service, music and ambiance. The menu has many classics including gyros, shawarma, kabobs, and the fresh pita bread is a home run. Chicken tika masala 9/10 The pictures can't describe how creamy the sauce was. So rich in color, deep with flavor and the filled with chicken chunks. Of course, you have to dip the fresh baked pita bread into this to appreciate how amazing it was. Gyros 9/10 The gyro plate was more of a platter loaded with beef and lamb. The spices on the meat were so delicious and cooked to perfection. Every bite was balanced with the coolness from the hummus and lightness of the rice. We were treated to a sample of the Turkish coffee. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised how light and aromatic it was. Not bitter or burnt.

    Grape Leaves and Turkish coffee

I married a Lebanese man. Coming from out of state and finding this gem was initially exciting. Service and food were okay. Husband says no, we won't be back. Grape leaves - I like that it wasn't sour. It was a neutral taste. Usually at other places, it tastes sour. Falafel - same thing as grape leaves. Neutral flavor. It was crispy. Hummus - same thing as the rest of the food. It needed some garlic, lemon, and nutty flavor. Turkish Coffee - it's Turkish coffee. They didn't wait for the coffee to cool and the grounds to settle, so a quarter of the cup was filled with mostly coffee grounds.

Food is just plain delicious. They let my friend get lunch special right at ending time. We also got the sampler appetizer and myself the lamb kabobs. Very friendly service and they checked on us several times to make sure we didn't need anything. Nice atmosphere as well. Casual yet somewhat refined. Check it out you will enjoy the meal.

    Doner

Food is great and flavors are on point. I enjoyed my doner. But that was the issue - that's all I got for I believe $12. No sides are included and there are no lunch specials. A side of fries is $6. Service was extremely slow too. Staff was polite, but plan to wait a bit.

    Meat Combo

Wow! This place is amazing. I got the Meat Combo which includes lamb, chicken, kafta, salad, hummus, bread, and rice. Each meat was juicy and flavorful- NOT DRY! Even their yogurt dip (maybe shallot yogurt?) had so much depth and flavor. The rice was cooked to perfection and their pita is one of my favorites in Colorado! I wish they included a traditional cucumber salad or grilled tomatoes instead of the salad that is included, but it was still a nice fresh break. I just wish it was not drenched in dressing. Will definitely come back.

Came here because this place is one of my friends favorite. Maybe he hyped it up too much for me? Lentil soup: 2 stars not really what i was expecting. It wasn't flavorful and it was a little too watery for me. The lentils were also blended. Hummus: 3 stars it definitely had this bitter after taste. Consistency was good, it wasn't too thick but I've had better Hummus. Chicken Shawarma plate: 5 stars it definitely hit the spot. The chicken was very tender, everything was well seasoned where one ingredient was more overpowering than the other. Shawarma wasn't greasy like other places. The rice thar came with it was also really fluffy and tasty. The salad tho just seems more like an after thought. I would like to try a different dish next time I visit. I'll definitely be back and give this place another try! Overall a solid 4 for me.

Service was good. It was quite empty when we first arrived; A few more tables came in after that. Iced tea was from a fountain but surprisingly tasty! We ordered the dolmas, hummus with pita (must get!!!!) and Greek salads with gyro meat. The Greek salads had pickles on it, which I did not like and ended up picking them off. My sister loved it!

The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. There is a 20% service charge automatically added to every check which is what it is. But for this level of flavor, it's worth it plus tip!

The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.

The menu was recently refreshed and it shows. The mushroom paella was loaded and perfectly cooked, the burrata was a solid start, and the Turkish pizza with halloumi was a surprise standout. The poached cod was also great, especially the sauce. The drinks were just as strong. The L5 margarita with salt foam was really good, and even the frosé, which I usually skip, worked perfectly here. The vibe is a big part of it. The downtown views are hard to beat and the patio is easily one of the better ones in the city. Inside also feels intentional and well designed. Service was excellent. Avery was our server and it was her first day, which you wouldn't have guessed. Carl and Mark also made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. For dessert, the Lisbon chocolate cake and Turkish kunefe were both great. The Basque cheesecake and lobster salad also stood out and had those memorable bites that stick with you. Overall, a really strong experience and definitely a place worth making a reservation for.
