Well, isn't this a hidden secret? I say that because we discovered the food AND happy hour. We even did separate trips for each. Both are worth going to solo or combined. I am not even the biggest Mediterranean food fan. But, the wife talked me into going, and I was floored with the excellence. So I had the Pita Sando #3. You get three options for content. Let me first just say that the portions are luxuriously huge. Wife had the chicken harissa and loved it. We also shared the hummus. She did the vegetables, I did the delicious pita bread. Their open air cooler is WAY cold. Great staff. Counter service, and it seems easy accessible to go back up for the OTHER part. The Happy Hour. If ever in the area of this adorable street and aren't even hungry, just swing by. Great pricing. Wine is half priced, craft draft beer is $5 (varies), and Peroni's are $3.50. Definitely recommend, and see you there. I have to add a brunch review, as it was our first time doing that here... We had been here for the great lunch/dinner food, but found out they did breakfast too. What a great call. Counter-service, great vibe, indoor seating with a couple of outdoor seats. I am providing more pics on this review. I got the breakfast lamb, egg, and cheese sandwich, and wife had the breakfast bowl. We each loved our choice, and they were totally different styles. My sandwich was messy beyond all belief, but the awesome deliciousness overcame any problem of multiple napkins. I will be back for that particular item. It is counter service, and they have various bottled drinks. We got two kinds of kombucha (blackberry and strawberry basil I think?) and they were unique and delicious. We even got hummus to go since my wife loves it a LOT. They didn't have hot sauce during my visit, but they typically do. Neat little block to walk, and they leave dog treats outside, as an example of their attention to detail for customers. Don't forget that they have a happy hour with great drink specials too. They are two for two with my visits personally, and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend you stopping in, and see you there...

Fresh and tasty food! They crush it with their sauces and hummus. The sauce that comes with the fries is unique but so good! The hummus is super fresh, creamy, and delicious. Their falafel isn't the best falafel I've had, but it's good nonetheless. They also offer tasty desserts. I've only tried the cookies, and have enjoyed both the chocolate chip and tahini snickerdoodle cookies. They are more of a crunchy cookie than soft. Staff is friendly and they have some indoor seating options if you want to dine in. Parking is all street parking, but it's not too difficult to find a spot. They also always have dog treats by the front door!

Excellent fresh food made to order with a large menu and a couple of outdoor tables. Good beverage selection as well, but liquor license does not extend to the patio. It was super cold in the restaurant so sitting outside in the sun was a must. On Sunday state feature lamb as well!

Food was delicious! So much so, I forgot to take a photo! Staff was much to be desired. It is a small place with only a few small tables inside and out. When we arrive for a work team lunch (three were only 3 of us), this group of guys had taken all the chairs from the one open table. I kindly asked the women at the register if they had more chairs or if we could bring some in from the table outside. She looked at me like she didn't understand. Finally, she got it and retrieved a few chairs for us. We sat down and she brought us our order in a to-go bag. She then said "Oh did you want to eat in?". Then we went to get forks since two of us has ordered bowls and there were no clean utensils. I went up to the counter and asked the same women. She came back with forks and put them in the container, looked at us and then decided "oh maybe I should actually provide this table with utensils", so she handed me a fork. That was great but, we needed another one. Clearly she is not the brightest crayon in the box. They clearly need to have some training. The food is great. I would just suggest ordering to-go, limiting your interaction with the staff.

This place is a staple! The locations is designed for counter service so seating is limited. Be prepared to grab your food and go if needed. The food itself was amazing. Many things are a la carte so do expect to pay more than other quick dining options. The fries were really flavorful and the pita was stand out. We ordered a lot of food and could have gotten away with sharing the fries and baba ganoush.

This young counter business is worth a visit. Mediterranean fare is an obvious choice with Chef David Schloss who used to work with Safta. With his every own recipe created this uber-smooth lotion-like hummus. Lena Young who's engaged to Dave and cute as a button makes sure things are smooth out front. They opened in June 28 of last year. Everything is made fresh. Salads, sauces and that rotisserie chicken is one of the best! Moist and as a sandwich is unbeatable! We had the #2 version the Classic Gyro prep. Love it! Oh they have wines and beers! Tip: their fries are amazing! Great friendly service! They are busy, the entire menu can be made vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free by request. Who's Sonny? It's their 120 lbs Great Pyrenees that turns 4 today! Happy Birthday Sonny!

Sonny's Mediterranean was a true delight. I went here a few days ago with my friend Tabetha a fellow Yelp Elite :). This is one of her faves in the area. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and hellos. They explained different items and dishes to me and even showed us how we should get their "kids meal" we got that and a couple other items which was all fairly new things for me to try. Falafel , fries, chicken, zhoug aioli ,pita, hummus,Tzatziki and a drink. I would seriously come back again for the dipping sauces alone! Everything was so delicious and fresh and excellent quality. The place is clean and cute with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food came out quickly and was served to our table which we sat in outside since it was such a beautiful day. I will certainly be back again for the amazing food deals and of course the people! Thank you to the Sonny's Team for a great visit!

This is a great little fast-casual Mediterranean spot! You order at the counter and seat yourself. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking. I ordered the tehina hummus, baba ghanoush, and pita for takeout. All three were so delicious! The hummus is incredibly smooth and very flavorful with the addition of the tahini on top. I've had the hummus from Safta, and this is very similar in taste/texture but at a much more reasonable price point. The baba ghanoush was very smoky and had lots of eggplant chunks, which I enjoyed. Takeout was quick and easy. Definitely worth the price!

Great food and fast and friendly service. It is a little pricey for typical middle eastern/Mediterranean fast service food but is more upscale. They have seating but it is limited and does get busy so takeout is a good option. They have 3 preset pitas with your choice of falafel or rotisserie chicken and either harissa, zhoug or basil chimichurri. Their chicken is super moist and I enjoyed my pita #1 with harissa. Definitely only recommend harissa for you like spice (which I do). I would prefer if you could build your own as my ideal is probably some combination of all 3 of them. Their pita is fantastic and it's a good size. They also offer salads, plates, hummus bowls or samplers of dips. My ideal dish would probably be a mix of the chicken, some dips and hummus but that's not a menu item (you can order a platter of dips or a whole/half chicken but no combination). I would go back because their food was delicious but I would prefer a few more variations of the items on the menu and a build your own pita option

I rarely give a 5-star because when I read a 5-star, they seem fake. That said the #2 pita was a 5-star sandwich. Great food!!!!

The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The food is fantastic and the portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable. We shared the Baba Ganoush to start. This is pureed, baked eggplant. Here tahini and pomegranate molasses were added. I am not a big eggplant fan, but this was phenomenal. The presentation was gorgeous with the puree spread out beautifully on a large dish, topped with olives, paprika, parsley, and a very generous dollop of delicious olive oil. An outstanding version of this dish. We received a large plate of very fresh pita triangles to go with the baba ganoush. These were great. We definitely used them to scrape every speck of eggplant off that platter! We both ordered the Gyro Plate. The gyro meat was very authentic, extremely tender, and very flavorful. The plate included a large tower of savory rice, a rich tzatziki sauce, a nice side of silky hummus, some pickled vegetables, and more pita. Another delicious offering and a huge portion. We also had soup as the entrees come with soup or salad. My friend tried the lentil soup and said it was flavorful and tasty. I had the tomato soup which was hardy and richly-flavored. This was a great meal. There's a pastry case with a choice of many Middle Eastern desserts. My friend selected several to take home and we staggered out of the restaurant with lots of leftovers that will make a delightful lunch tomorrow. A wonderful experience.

The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. There is a 20% service charge automatically added to every check which is what it is. But for this level of flavor, it's worth it plus tip!

The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.
