Lamb and spinach
Jeannie N.

Konjo is a quick service Ethiopian restaurant in the public market. The positives: Konjo is delicious! I love the quality of the lamb, Injera, and spinach. Additionally, Ethiopian platters are typically large and require a large group to share. Konjo makes it possible for you to get individual servings. The negatives: while the traditional patterns come with all the vegetables, Konjo only allows you to order one side of vegetables. It isn't the same experience without the variety of vegetables in my opinion. However, if you wanted to order all the vegetables, it would be over $25 for your platter. The experience left me, wishing I had gone to a typical Ethiopian restaurant to order a traditional platter to share with friends.

Lamb Tibs

I've been ordering from Konjo for as long as I've lived in Colorado. Even during the pandemic, Lamb/Beef Tibs was my go-to delivery. So flavorful and filling. Ethiopian food in Denver surprisingly slaps! I've seen their food truck at music events and believe this is how they started, so it's cool to see their food stall inside Edgewater Public Market. Check it out, and try something new!

RECYCLE PLEASE AT PUBLIC MARKET EDGEWATER

Mimi is the sweetest lady and exceptionally customer service oriented. I'm a veggie, my service dog is not!! And I think she works 24/7 with a beautiful smile and warmth that beckons Mimi made me some OUTRAGEOUS garlic spinach over saffron rice, OHHHH YUUUMMMM, There are so many choices, I have added their menu and drinks in the photos. Oh the Market, and delicious Ethiopian food, not to be missed The entire team are AWESOME and very helpful with huge smiles, this is part of the "Public Market in Edgewater. Konjo is easy to find and has a great Kiosk as all have great signage displaying their goodies. The menu fits all spicey, yet not too much Ethiopian foods. Great place to try out several dishes. I did top this off, the garlic and saffron with some delicious FRESH SQUEECES ORANGE JUICE from Aphrodite owner of Saints and Sinners, she is a delight and can be met on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. The Public Market is well thought through, as you exit, there is a "Recyle Bin" for all your waste, please recycle! There many Kiosks in the public Market, stay tuned I am writing up a few just for your mouth to water and zoom in. Cheers

Beef Ribs plate

For fast casual Ethiopian, Kongo is pretty good. However, they are not fast. Be prepared to wait a minute or two. I tried the bed ribs plate. You order via a kiosk. Cuts down on time and any misinterpretations. I ordered the beef ribs plate. I really enjoyed the injera and the beef tibs. The tibs had just the right amount of spice and they weren't too greasy. My two sides, the red lentils (miser wat) and the curried cabbage (tikei gomen) were fine. I personally prefer a bit more seasoning in both. The cabbage portion was twice as much as the others. I sort of wish I had also tried the yellow lentils (kik alicha), but it would have been too much food. In fact, I didn't quite finish. So, thumbs up on portion size. Altogether, the plate made for a decent lunch. The Milk Market location is a good choice for picky eaters because there are several dining options all in one space. I would consider trying Konjo again.

This was my first time eating at this public market and I quickly knew I wanted to try out Konjo since I've never had Ethiopian food. Everything from options, nutrition, and price point made this an easy choice. You order from a digital screen so you can take your time choosing and reading about all of the options. The combos are very customizable. I ordered the vegetarian combo which came with three choices, plus Injerna or rice. I chose the Miser (red lentils), Kik (yellow split pea), and the Gomen with Dinich (season spinach with potatoes) with the injerna. The red lentils are very spicy for my taste. Looking back I would have tried something else. My absolute favorite was the Kik and it was creamy, smooth, spiced, and very delicious. Probably the most familiar to what I've tried in other curries before. The most surprising was the injerna. Do NOT skip out on it. It's a bit tangy, sour, and a great side for the meal. It's a big meal. I was stuffed by the end instead of paying the same price for a sandwich somewhere else. Highly worth it and my top reccommended place to try out.

First time stopping by this gem! Service was super friendly and helpful! Food was fresh! Hot! Spicy (as they said it would be)!! And super fast! This will be my spot for quick Ethiopian food! Portion sizes were excellent! The chicken was perfectly seasoned! Highly recommend!

Pretty good. Came out fast. The staff was friendly. I love injira, so this was great.

Veggie combo plate only at 10.99 - Great portion!!

Konjo never disappoints! Price, value, quality of food and quality of service all checked every time I get food here. Such was the case when I stopped by this late afternoon when I was getting hungry for the evening. I always get the same thing: The Vegan Delight! I know I should be more diverse but as good as this vegan plate gets, I can't help getting me the same thing over and over again. Will I ever get tired of this plate? I don't think I will! I love injera (and it comes with the plate.) But this time, I got me the side rice to go with the whole dish. This ended up being a great idea. The spiciness of the whole plate got somewhat mellowed down by this yellow rice; it truly enhanced the overall taste of it. I strongly recommend this accompaniment. Since this place is in a spacious food hall, it's not so much about being in an environment with an ambiance. But what I suggest is that you can go upstairs to the rooftop to have the food with a drink from the centralized bar as long as the weather permits.

Vegan Delight
Gina K.

This was my first time experiencing Ethiopian food. I got the vegan delight because I try to eat more vegetarian then meat. I was not expecting how spicy the red lentils were going to be and the spinach and potatoes was mostly spinach. The corn mixture was fine but everything was just kind of fine. Nothing was overly impressive that would make me any to come back.

When I visit early in the winter season, it's also the ideal time to buy little Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers. On my most recent visit, I met up with an old friend and their partner to get drinks. Roger's Bar made some very good (and decently strong) drinks, and I particularly enjoyed their signature cocktail "The Elemental Thing," which was delightfully fruity and tropical. Prices were a little steep ($13 for a vodka lemonade is a little high IMO) but I think it makes sense for this location. Seating is abundant and varied-- there are couches, standard tables, and high tables with bar stools. The dimmer bar section is more pleasant in my opinion because it feels less like a food court. I ended up ordering a calzone from Sloan's, which came fast and tasted great. My other go-to is the Ethiopian spot-- amazing veggie options and some of the only Ethiopian to be had in the Denver suburbs (from what I can tell). All-around, this is a great place for an easy meal.

I love anything with pesto, and the mozzarella was perfectly melted. For drinks, we ordered an iced Very Cherry Matcha Latte with oat milk and a Honey Lavender Latte (hot). Unfortunately, once we left, we realized the cherry matcha was made as a coffee drink instead of matcha. We were pretty disappointed since we planned to split one matcha and one coffee. The cherry flavor was good, but I would've loved to try it as we ordered it. For the lavender honey latte, we could taste the lavender, but it didn't seem like any honey or sweetener was added. It ended up tasting extremely strong and not sweet at all, so we didn't really drink it. Overall, the bagels were amazing, but I wish there had been more attention to detail with the drinks.

We ordered beignets to share and I had the jalapeño popper omelette. It should come with a choice of tater tots or seasoned diced potatoes, but this wasn't offered to me. If I weren't so immersed in conversation with my coworker, I would have caught this and potentially asked for a side salad instead. When I found Bibamba while I was at Edgewater Food Hall to get me a plate of Ethiopian food, I stumbled up it by accident. The kind lady who was manning the register inside was above and beyond while I was sampling different types of chocolate barks along the window shelves. She explained to me that the store opened about three years ago. Really? I am pretty sure I had come here within that time frame at least once. I guess I had missed this place out of ignorance. Well, I, at least, discovered it. This is a Colorado store which imports cacao beans from Cameroon as the owner runs/owns a farm in the African country. Per the information board on the wall, the farm sustainably sources everything. I certainly appreciate businesses that focus on social responsibility. The chocolate bark samples I tried were all exquisite. After tasting, I walked around a bit to take some photos of the interior. Yes, this store is quite different than other typical chocolatiers for sure. You'll have visit it and see for yourself. The glass showcase upfront had truffles, cakes and parfaits all nicely displayed. The decadent looking cake or the parfait were tantalizing. Unfortunately, however, they were a little too big for me. And they were.... -Black Forest Buzz Truffle -Cinnamon Roll Truffle -Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Including tax and tip, all came to less than $14. Quite decent, I thought. I enjoyed all of them but my absolute shout-out goes to the Black Forest Buzz Truffle. It was so good where I wanted to go back to the shop immediately to get me another one. Yes, I agree. As the store name says it all, this is an artisan chocolate shop. The skills and techniques they use to create those outstanding chocolate pieces are high-quality, one-of-a-kind goods that are distinguished from others. You won't taste something like this in those mass-produced ones sold at the store we go to daily. Bibamba simply became my absolute favorite chocolatier that day. The only complaint? Took a chocolate truffle making class and learned all about chocolate production and chocolate making. The owners are passionate about their chocolate, and it shows. First, we started with a presentation with photos of their farm in Cameroon and how they harvest, ferment, and dry their cacao beans, followed by roasting, winnowing (removing shells), and grinding into "cocoa liquor". Then bagging in 150-pound bags and shipping directly to their warehouse in Colorado. From here, their employees mix with sugar/milk and make the most organically rich and pure chocolate. It takes about a week in the melanger (mixer) for the cacao and sugar to blend into smooth, rich and creamy deliciousness. In the hands-on portion of the class, we took some of their 50% cacao and made dark chocolate truffles, rolled in a large variety of toppings--dried strawberries, pink sugar, pistachios, cookie crumble, peppermint. Of course, we all went home with lots of tasty samples to share of (eat alone.). Very interesting, tasty and fun. Their store is worth visiting as it is absolutely beautiful with numerous products on display. If you like chocolate or have a chocolate lover in your close circle --then you need to stop at Bibamba and get some chocolate love.
