I've definitely ordered from Arepas House many times over the years but somehow only wrote a review just now! It's one of my go-to spots when I'm at Edgewater Public Market, and I feel like it's one of the longer-standing food stalls. I love the variety of items they have on their menu without being too overwhelming. My favorite thing to get is the Pabellon Arepa, filled to the brim with black beans, shredded beef, fried plaintains, avocado, cheese, and Guasacaca sauce. Deliciously fresh and flavorful. In the future I need to try their Patacon. I love that they have pictures of everything on their menu. Check it out if you haven't already! read more

This place has such good arepas. We ordered fried yucca, Pabellon, and Patacon original. The patacon was huge! Can easily shared with another person. I thought it would be way too much food for my husband and I but it was so good we finished everything. Everything came out to be about $46 without tips. This place is located in a food hall and there's plenty of parking available. read more

I've been on a bit of an arepa journey this year, and while I won't claim to be an expert, I can say with full confidence: Arepas House is my favorite so far. Located inside Edgewater Public Market, this spot brings bold, comforting Venezuelan flavors that feel both homey and exciting. What I tried: * Spicy Chicken Arepa - Shredded chicken, fried plantains, cheddar, and guasacaca. Absolute flavor bomb. * Pabellón Arepa - Shredded beef, black beans, plantains, cheese, avocado. Hearty, sweet-savory, and so satisfying. * Taqueños - Fried cheese sticks in pastry dough. Gooey, salty, crispy perfection. * Plantains + Cheese - Simple and delicious. * Cachapa - A buttery corn pancake topped with melty Paisa cheese. My new favorite comfort food. * Petacón - A loaded plantain sandwich with meats, slaw, sauces, and serious crunch. Favorites: The cachapa is a must-try--sweet corn and cheese in perfect harmony. The taqueños are dangerously good, and the spicy chicken arepa had the perfect balance of heat, texture, and that tangy guasacaca sauce that ties it all together. The food is full of heart and flavor, and the team is friendly and welcoming. It's casual but vibrant, with generous portions that leave you full and happy. If you're craving authentic Latin food with serious flavor, Arepas House should be on your list. No doubt I'll be back. read more

I loved going to the Edgewater Market, it's a great environment to spend time with some friends. I ordered the vegan arepa with yucca fries, and they were both delicious. The serving sizes were perfect for me. read more

Got the vegan arepa and yucca fries and had somewhat conflicting feelings. The arepa was good, except it had way too much vegan mayo in it and it overwhelmed the flavors when you bit into a piece with it. That aside it was good. I'm not sure it's worth $11 considering it's mostly black beans, but it's worth a try if you have them tone down the mayo. The yucca fries were fried well, but they needed seasoning. I'm also not sure it's worth $7 for 7 fries. But maybe worth a try if you haven't had them before. Staff was friendly, service was a little slow, but worth checking out. read more

Terrific arepas. Fast, friendly service. Decent value for the money. The papelon con limon was slightly disappointing. Would go back again on my next visit to Edgewater Public Market. read more

4.5/5 Perfect bites all around. My favorite bite in Denver so far. The arepas pork was so juicy, along with perfect black beans. The chapuas is the perfect food for sweet and savory. I would definitely go back. Great representation of Venezuelan food! read more

This place is amazing! Ask for extra plantains. The beans are amazing. They have so much flavor.

Ugh I love these. They really load everything up and my only wish is that they give me a bigger arepa so it doesn't create such a mess. The one at Lakewood is always fast and if I'm near one, I usually like to get one read more

Located in a marketplace food court, the Arepa House was a great choice if you're looking to try something packed with flavour and meat. The service is very efficient. Everything is done through a computer to phone system to order and pickup when ready. There is tons of seating and lots to look at in the area. The domino Arepa was a new item for me and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. I thought the breading could've been a bit less gummy but other than that, everything was great. read more

Super disappointing customer service and as a result, super disappointing food experience. We ordered the cheese arepas and never received a notification that the order was ready (despite receiving notifications from the other food vendors) After 30 minutes I walked up to ask about it and saw the order sitting out. It had been made 30 min earlier but no notification was sent. When I explained that we didn't get a notification and asked if they would remake it so we could enjoy it warm and fresh, they said no and they said their boss said no. This was all communicated through Google Translate bc I don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English. Gross meal and terrible customer service. I won't be back and would not recommend to anyone. read more

I had a little bit of trouble finding this restaurant as I didn't know it was in a food garage/hall type set up. Once I figured that out I went in. The "Public Hall" was busy! The large parking lot was pretty full, around 12:00 on a Saturday, so that's not surprising. I ended up choosing the Patacon - instead of Arena Pan Arepa sandwich outer pieces - the sandwich outsides are made with fried plantains. I'd never tried one (anywhere) like that. I ended up having to put it in the refrigerator and ate it a day later warmed up. So, fresh is best but the sandwich still tasted good. read more

I have been struggling to find tasty food since relocating from the Bay Area some months back. I had just taken a YogaSix class at Edgewater, and thought about going over to the food stalls next door. I asked the instructor for a recommendation; she had me at "plantains, avocado, and pulled pork". I beelined to the Arepas House for that exact order- I believe it's called the Arepa Queen. So delish, and also came with black beans and cotija cheese. One was definitely enough and fairly priced at around $12. Thank you for the culture and flavor, Arepas! I look forward to coming back, as well as checking out some other food options within the Public Market. read more

I had the vegetarian arepas and my husband had the chicken salad arepas. I wasn't sure what to expect from his but it was surprisingly tasty. My vegetarian arepas was fantastic- huge portion and bursting with fresh flavors. We started with their patacones- (I hunk mozzarella sticks but better) very yummy. My toddler couldn't get enough of the dipping sauce they came with. The only interaction I had was with a touch scree that I placed my order with and paid through. It was easy to navigate and I got a text when our order was ready. They have a nice rooftop patio with a bar truck, but as pets are only allowed downstairs we moved to the downstairs patio. read more

Besides Hugo Chavez and the crazy socialists of Venezuela ( like eating zoo animals proves you have a great economy???) I love Venezuelan food and it's people. Arepas House is just bomb ass....the vegetarian Areapas is perfect even for a carnawhore like me. Sure the shredded beef one is insanely good but for a vegetarian treat the mixture of black beans, sauce, and that warm cornmeal bread is delicous. Loved the tequenos with the thousand island like dipping sauce. Least favorite ( I was probably stuffed by that time ) were the yucca fries...they were so chunky it was not a wonderful thing to eat. If you are feeling crazy try one of their drinks: The malted soft drink is really weird but refreshing and the bubble gum soft drink ( forgot the name) is also something you have never tried before. Def try these guys for something new and unique read more

Delicious arepa from Arepas House in Edgewater Public Market. Ambiance is amazing with something for everyone. Don't sleep on these Venezuelan arepas. Highly recommend you get some extra spicy sauce. I'll take more pictures next time and expand beyond just this one choice: Pabellon (black beans, shredded beef, fried plantains, avocado, cheese and Guasacaca sauce) sooooo good. Holy arepas! Lemme tell you about Arepas House and their super stacked Venezuelan fare! Having tried arepas a couple times in the past, I was excited to see their stall at Edgewater Public Market this past weekend. I knew I had to check out what they were slinging. ++ Wanting something to share with my fellow diners, I opted for an order of plantains with cheese. Having never had plantains before I wasn't sure what to expect. They were perfectly fried up and sweet. The cheese added a little salty flair to the dish. ++ For the main event, I was drooling over the pabellon arepa - black beans, shredded beef, fried plantains, avocado, cheese, guasacaca sauce, and love! So naturally, I ordered this mouthwatering dish. It was HUGE, a little messy, but oh so worth it! There was so much flavor! Everything about Arepas House was wonderfully delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other menu offerings. read more

Located at Edgewater public market the Arepas house is a gem. The public market is a great spot to gather and enjoy great food. Today's pick was the cheese arepa with both sauces. Tried the pabellon arepa and it was so delicious! It came with beef, avocado, cheese, and fried plantains. There was a bit of a line but they were very efficient with service. My only complaint is there's only one piece of fried plantain in it but it is LOADED with cheese and the sauce is incredible. Make sure to grab a napkin because it gets messy. This is a great option for GF individuals because arepas use cornmeal dough and it is plenty filling! read more

I've only visited their food truck, but they have a physical location in Edgewater Market as well. The truck has a small menu, but it doesn't matter because everything is good. Of the three main arepa options, I think the beef is my favorite, but depending on my mood I can easily go for any of them. The chicken one has a lot of cheese in it but the meat itself is shredded and seasoned with a great spice blend. The vegetarian arepa, featuring black beans and avocado, also comes in a vegan option if that's a need for you. All come in various spice levels (mild, medium, hot), and plantains make everything better! These arepas are handheld and not complicated, but they are messy, though you won't care when you dive in to one of these flavorful and filling concoctions. read more

We came here during a trip to Denver visiting friends. I love arepas so I knew I had to try this place! The line was really long which is always a good sign. I loved the options of arepas they had. I ordered the plantain app and the beef arepa. The plantains were awesome!! We split those and everyone loved them. The beef arepa was so full which was great. The beef and filling of the arepa was delicious, no piece of filling went uneaten. The arepa itself was just ok. I thought it was kind of dry and broke easily. I was a little disappointed in the arepa but everything else was so good. read more

The arepas here are amazing and this could possibly be the best food stand at the Edgewater marketplace. You absolutely cannot go wrong with an arepa here and this place has a cult following around the community. The arepas are bursting with flavors and the onions and plantains add that perfect sweet and savory taste. I personally prefer the arepas over the plantain sandwich since the plantain serving as the bread substitute with the sandwich is a little too dry for my liking. However, it's still very good!! This place definitely deserves 5 stars! Good job! read more
