Making chocolate truffles by rolling them in toppings in our chocolate class
Ashley W.

I took a chocolate-making class here at Bibamba (which is inside Edgewater Public Market) and I absolutely loved it. For context, they expanded from one unit of space within the market to two, and the expansion seems very cool because one side is like a behind-the-scenes kitchen and the other is the staging area of amazing chocolate goodies. Anyway, the class begins by them walking you through a short presentation about where their cacao is sourced and how they approach ethical production, which was nice because you got to learn some chocolate facts while snacking on some chocolate and learning what raw chocolate tastes like. After that, we started the hands-on portion, where we scooped freshly-made ganache using small scoops, and hand-rolled our own truffles while wearing gloves. There was a whole spread of different coatings and toppings, probably around a dozen options, so you could experiment with flavor combinations instead of just making one standard version. And there was definitely extra ganache, and snacking on the extra chocolate was encouraged! :) At the end you package your truffles in a branded box that made your creations look very professional. It was a great class, and then we walked over to the staging side and I bought a 12-pack of their bonbons that my D&D friends LOVED the next day, which was a complement because we bring lots of candy and it's hard to rise to the tip of what we've tried over time. I would highly suggest coming here for one of their classes or to get lovely gifts for loved ones.

Orange Spark dark chocolate
Kristie C.

Bibamba just recently opened up their shop at Edgewater Public Market, and huzzah, I've now found my go-to chocolate provider! Not all chocolate labeled as "fair-trade" is actually fair-trade. Sometimes it's impossible to really know if the chocolate you're eating is ethically sourced, but you don't have to worry about that with Bibamba. The founders source their cacao beans directly from their farm in Cameroon, and one of the founders is a Cameroon native. Their workers are paid and treated fairly, and they never use child labor. Both founders were at the shop when I stopped by, and they were both friendly and provided exceptional service. Aside from the fact that this is ethical chocolate though, it's just delicious artisan chocolate. I don't normally love dark chocolate, but I just want to keep nibbling on their Orange Spark dark chocolate. It's nutty, rich, sweet but not too sweet, with just the perfect amount of citrus flavor and a very subtle kick of peppercorn. The flavors meld together beautifully. They were offering samples of their various assortments when I was recently inside. They also were selling the best hot chocolate I've had in ages, made with real chocolate and none of that powder sh$t! The peppermint marshmallow absolutely slayed. I also love that they make the chocolate in-house - you can see vats from the counter in the back. Cozy shop, delicious chocolate, and warm cocoa. Stopping by here was perfect for a winter day.

I had it saved but couldn't quite remember why...until we turned the corner and saw a line out the door around noon on a Sunday. Normally that might be a dealbreaker, but once we saw the food coming out, we were all in, it looked way too good to pass up. The menu is stacked: everything from sweet pastries to savory sandwiches and even pizzas on what looked like fresh, fluffy focaccia. I went with the prosciutto sandwich (prosciutto, cheese, pesto on focaccia), and it was incredible--simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. My girlfriend had the ham sandwich on a baguette, which was just as good. We were also tempted by the turkey and some seasonal options, so we'll definitely be back to try more. We couldn't leave without grabbing a couple pastries. The almond croissant was a hit (my girlfriend saved it for the next morning and loved it), and the standout for me was the cinnamon white chocolate cookie--kind of like a snickerdoodle but with white chocolate chips. Easily a top tier cookie. Between the quality, variety, and how clearly everything is made with care, this place jumped straight to the top of my list. Worth the wait, worth the hype, and absolutely worth a return trip.

I sure was one of them today as when I stepped in it was past 2pm. What I had in mind was (of course) all gone which forced me to go some alternative option. I hence ended up with one of the vanilla custard buns and the gouda baguettes. Did I regret? Nope, it is quite the opposite of it. The vanilla custard bun was simply the right size for me (I not too long ago had just had my late breakfast so I was still quite full from it.) Perfectly brown on some of the custard on top. This Portuguese style dessert is a staple at any bakery or dessert shop. It's moist and yet the flaky out layers made the perfect sound as I bit into it. As of this writing, I haven't had the baguette yet but I can only imagine how delicious it would be (as the kind lady upfront was telling other customer that.) For a great business like GetRight's, I do the drive to get to it from my southeast Denver home. It's my utmost duty to support them.

I ordered the Po' Boi burger for myself and got the truffle sauce with my fries, and let me tell you, you MUST get the sauce if you like creamy, mushroom stuff! The Po' Boi was also delicious, and I got to sample a bit of the Kabocha Gnocchi, the Reuben, and the Sweet Beet salad, and they were all things I would order again! I honestly was surprised by how much I liked the Sweet Beet salad, as I am not typically a fan of grapefruit (which I believe was one of the citrus fruits included in the dish), but it's a great mix of sweet and earthy flavors. The location is inside of a food court type setup, so this also seems like a good place for a group with varied tastes, as if you have omnivores with a fear of vegetarian/vegan food with you, they could grab food elsewhere and I believe you could take your food and eat it out in the court area together. The decor is modern and reasonably trendy, and the restaurant was very clean (but we also arrived shortly after opening, so that's to be expected). I think it would make a decent date spot as well. I think next time I'm in the Denver area, I would prioritize stopping by here. It was really tasty, and a nice little gem of a restaurant!

Syrup reminds me of First Watch, but less affordable. It's def a cute place, with lots of seating as well as a full sized bar. The staff were great also, checking in on us often and with a smile. We ordered beignets to share and I had the jalapeño popper omelette. It should come with a choice of tater tots or seasoned diced potatoes, but this wasn't offered to me. If I weren't so immersed in conversation with my coworker, I would have caught this and potentially asked for a side salad instead. My bill might have hit 30 bucks though, which for an app and an omelette is steep. Maybe I'm thriftier than most, but wow. The food was good. I liked the creative omelette and the fluffy beignets, but I wasn't impressed with the cost nor the removal of my side option. My bill with tax and tip was almost $35. Insert sad face. Def a one time visit.

I ultimately went with 4 since the sandwiches were great and it's always been great in the past. My best friend and I ordered two bagels and two drinks to split. I love anything with pesto, and the mozzarella was perfectly melted. For drinks, we ordered an iced Very Cherry Matcha Latte with oat milk and a Honey Lavender Latte (hot). Unfortunately, once we left, we realized the cherry matcha was made as a coffee drink instead of matcha. We were pretty disappointed since we planned to split one matcha and one coffee. The cherry flavor was good, but I would've loved to try it as we ordered it. For the lavender honey latte, we could taste the lavender, but it didn't seem like any honey or sweetener was added. It ended up tasting extremely strong and not sweet at all, so we didn't really drink it. Overall, the bagels were amazing, but I wish there had been more attention to detail with the drinks.
