I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. I don't quite understand how they could charge this much knowing that the ingredients they used were fairly affordable. Honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Allison was very sweet. The place was very cute. Only 2 positives.

Most people had been there before, but it was my first time experiencing a cooking competition. The chefs working made crepe-making fun and approachable. The dinner we had afterwards was decently delicious. It was exciting to guess what ingredients were in each dish. Good wine selection. Love the meats and cheeses served when we arrived. I'd be interested in taking a cooking class here as a date night someday!

SE Asia Street Food class This is our second class with Cook St. first time was a Mediterranean class years ago with Chef Devin don't remember but it was very good. Two people per station they prep all the ingredients and it's really beginner friendly without any culinary background. Cook St is really brave on the variety of options on world cuisines. Check their calendar they offer French, Mediterranean, Asian, knife skills, and professional programs. My favorite recipe was the 'Khao Soi' a Chin Haw dish influenced by Yunnan Chinese. You can find it at northern Thai restaurants they sell it off menu, it tastes similar to a 'Tom Kha' soup. I'm already looking at the calendar for the next class. One thing I didn't expect was its long 2.5 hrs. I wish they offered charcuterie or something that you can order to Nosh on. We made chocolate chip cookies first that we made spiders on. Next we made Royal Icing that was a bit tough to make and stiff. After we made cookie cut outs and baked. My only gripe is I wish they maybe did more of a soft icing and some toppings like sprinkles because the royal icing was hard to do any type of nice decoration on. Overall we left with a ton of cookies made and 2 big rolls of sugar cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough to Take home. I wish they offered more kids classes. I checked Nov and Dec and nothing showed.

My husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab some old fashioneds at the bar - we were the only patrons there so service was very quick. Chatted a bunch with the bartender who was very personable. Our drinks were perfectly made and overall, we had a really lovely time. The space was well designed, open and had a nice feel. The water was fruit infused which was a nice touch. As mentioned, we'll absolutely be coming back for a cooking class, but probably for another drink, too!

I only have experience with the home cook classes, which are great fun. My husband and I have taken…read more3 so far between the two of us - knife skills, sauces, and dim sum. The sauce class was amazing - over the course of two days, we learned 24 different sauces, and covered every type of sauce (dessert ones too!). We made a dish with each sauce, so we got some experience of what to pair them with. They gave us recipe packets and we went over the recipes and ingredient selection (take notes, there's a lot of information that gets shared that's not on the recipe), and then each person got to focus on one or two dishes, with interruptions to check out the important aspects of what other people were working on. The knife skills class was more basic - while fun, we already knew a lot of the information in it. There were still a few tricks to learn, of course, but it seems that past learning the basics, knife skills is mostly about getting lots of practice. The dim sum class was similar to the sauce class in the format - a bunch of recipes and each person got to pick which one they want to work on. For me, the main reason to take that class was to get some familiarity with ingredients that I haven't been exposed to (OK, I've eaten them, but I haven't cooked with them!). The techniques were introduced clearly and each of us got to practice putting together the different kinds of dumplings and potstickers and such. Since then, I've made the Cha Siu Bao, and it looks like what we learned in class stuck. I like using the cooking classes to increase my comfort level with ingredients that I haven't grown up using. Yes, I could print out a recipe and figure out a lot of it, but how and what to buy is a bit harder when I'm working with unfamiliar cuisine. The little tricks that I inevitably end up picking up from the classes are incredibly handy and increase my comfort level with cooking even more.

ADA department is not disabled person friendly. If you…read moresuffer from disability (Physical and/or mental), requiring accommodations, and a single parent fighting forward, the ADA process at this school is atrocious. The lack of professionalism / respect from the ADA lady, and the treatment by her hire ups was unbelievable. After I went through hell and back, I finally got accommodated and settled. I was doing their online course. The teachers I had were wonderful and I actually really enjoyed the course itself. The accommodations I finally obtained made all the difference. Unfortunately during one of my assignments, I did not realize I could hurt myself in the process, but I did, and it took me over a month to be able to get back into things. Even though I kept trying to participate, the school kicked me out of that session. I got better and tried again. This time our home flooded and we ended up homeless. Because of my health and the stress being way too high for my body to handle, I could not continue. Now that things are finally settled, I was trying to get back into the swing of things again. This time I was better prepared (proper needed equipment to prevent re-injury) and settled in our new home. They refused to allow me back into the school unless I pay $3000 towards my balance. I survive on less than $1000 a month ($300 just to my car payment). I'm a single mother, in a wheelchair, with degenerative conditions and they know it. I made a special request for reconsideration and to be a part of my success story, and they rejected me with this $3000 offer. This is being done on purpose to push me out, because they don't want to deal with me anymore. They truly made me feel like a nuisance for trying to help myself. I have found a new school that already seems to be more up to the challenge of helping someone like me to accomplish their goal. Part of my situation is, I have a Neuro degenerative condition that is going to kill me, I don't have any time to waste. Now all the time and assignments I did put in at this school count for nothing. I told them everything about myself. They know exactly what they are doing to me. I almost forgot to mention. There's a man in the technical support department that is purposely targeting female students, lying and manipulating them to going to certain pages on their computer that are completely unnecessary for the assistance he needs to give. The page he will take you to shows him information that he wants or needs for whatever reason he has. This is my first experience dealing with this goal besides dealing with ADA. I reported it, nothing was said more to me about it. In the end I ended up helping myself and solving the problem myself. PLEASE BEWARE LADIES!! EXTRA INFO: For these types of schools you will need to schedule a doctors appointment to obtain a letter for your ADA accommodations. Doctors records don't count. You will see there's a lot of advertising of $7495 money given to you from the government for going back to school. Yes, there is that money, but they only give you $100-$200 extra a month until you reached the limit. They do not give that to you upfront to help you with the purchasing of necessary equipment and supplies you need to be able to graduate their online course. I did not have everything I needed my first attempt at this course which is why I injured myself accidentally. They do give you some basic stuff for the course, but they do not assist with anything further if you are physically and financially challenged. They go by assuming you already have most all of what you need at home. They do not consider if you're getting out of homelessness or other hardships that has you without most of what you will need. If you would love to attend culinary school for a diploma or degree. I've decided to start a nonprofit to help those truly in need. I have partnered with a local and very large kitchen supply retailer. Very soon I will be there donation partner. If you need assistance and or guidance towards accomplishing your goals in becoming a culinary professional, please contact me privately. I will be more than happy to answer any questions and offer any guidance you may need.

My boyfriend and I just went to Nature's Table last night for a cooking class "How to Eat Vegan on…read more$4 a Day" with Chef Penni. Apparently there was a google deal for $19 a person and we missed it, so we paid $39 each to attend the class, but it was fun! There are numerous stations set up in the kitchen, so for this particular class, we had recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Everyone picked a station and got to cookin'! The upside of this class was is that we definitely learned some new things and who doesn't want to only spend $4 a day on food? After everyone had finished their dishes, we all had a vegan dinner together! The food was delicious! Vegan does not mean boring in case you were wondering. :) The only downside in my opinion, is that you only get to make one meal. So, really you get to experiment with one dish, rather than multiple ones...and while the kitchen is a pretty good size, there's some bumping into each other, trying to use the stove, rinse dishes, etc. And I found it a little frustrating to not have all the utensils, equipment, bowls, etc that I needed, so I kept having to stop and ask for things. Otherwise, this was a fun experience and Penni is really fun to work with!

I learned you should shop at Whole Foods and if you can't remember to buy organic. Although the name includes cooking. Did I learn how to cook- not a bit. Like some of the reviews a friend and I bought the Living Social to attend a "class". We decided on the dessert class, well that was the only one we could get into before it expired. Literally the day it expired was the only class we could get in. All the choices of desserts to make sounded yummy, so we didn't really care where we sat but picked lemon bars. I know these are really hard for me to make- but this is a class and we will learn BONUS! So we sat through the Whole Foods spill and don't forgot you can buy these cooking books here at the store. Then the instructor went through each recipe, which was fair. I didn't mind that. However she did say, "When I take these dishes home at night, they seem to taste better after they have sat for awhile" What? I paid for the class and make it, then you get to take the leftovers home? I took a class at another school and we boxed up any leftovers and got to take them home. Seems a little weird, but after the lecture I knew this wasn't your typical cooking class. Finally time to bake and this is what she says. "I have everything label for you to use and everything you need out, so if you need me I will be back there' As I mentioned before, I have trouble making lemon bars so I went asked for some help. The recipe was confusing and she didn't straighten it out for me. ........ Lemon bars were a flop :( Now time to try everyone's do it yourself creation and for the most part they were pretty tasty. I just felt like we were rushed out- so with that being said, lots of leftovers for the staff I suppose? I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the point. If you are looking for a class, keep looking. Should you be looking for a place to make something for someone else and not have to clean up....well you found your spot.
