Tuna sashimi with black sesame powder and shiso - it was a beautiful dish that really elevated an already wonder ahi tuna
    Austin G.

Richard is an incredibly talented chef and engaging host - I'd recommend him for any and all private dining needs. We hired Richard for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday dinner. With Richard's help we decided on a five course meal: - oysters with habanero masago - tuna sashimi with this beautiful sesame powder - a ginger and carrot soup with lime creme fraiche - filet mignon with wasabi pomme puree and charred broccoli - frozen yuzu custard with sesame brittle All of the dishes were excellent but my god the carrot soup was incredible! And the steak had these amazing carrot crisp accompaniments - really reignited my love for carrots, strange as it is to say. Across the entire meal everyone loved it and had different favorites. Chef Rich was especially gracious in handling our vegetarian guest and was able to make both vegetarian appetizers and entrees that folded well into the meal and were also wonderful. Thank you Chef Rich for a beautiful dinner!

Chef Rich is a legend. He is professional, responsive, friendly and extremely creative when it comes to his food. We have used his company twice now and were more than blown away by his talents. His ability to bring the private chef experience directly to your home is a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend Chef Rich for any of your private chef needs! We will definitely be using him again!

Incredible experience from start to finish. Super easy coordinating with Chef Marc for the 5 course plated dinner for my husband's birthday party. My favorite was the ahi tuna with heirloom tomatoes an avocado mousse cucumbers pickled peppers with chicharron crumble The combination of flavors were wonderful. Others in our party loved the cauliflower bisque w truffle crème fraiche pancetta and herbs. ALL the courses were superbly executed and delicious!! Grateful they bring everything as we were in a rental home with limited kitchen ware. Marc and Shayna were professional and personable. I would definitely hire again.

I hired Rich and Five Star to put on a special thank you dinner for my leadership team. We started with this premise, "let's create an experience they'll never expect and never forget." He blew that goal away. As the 9 person dinner was hosted in my small backyard, we thought the attendees would expect something off the grill. What they didn't expect was an 8 course, white tablecloth, Asian-Fusion parade of flavors. Planning the meal with Rich was almost as delightful as savoring each bite. Each course was themed around various values and beliefs of our leadership team. To start, we wanted people to take a chance and embrace challenge. So we kicked off with an Italian Anchovy Nigiri with lemon zest and wasabi. From there, we worked our way through a Scallop with prosciutto chip in a bath of tomato dashi. The dashi was poured from a community decanter and each teammate had to pour the broth for the person next to them to symbolize the outputs of one of our efforts are the inputs of another's experience. Eventually, we wound our way to a whole red snapper, that all teammates rolled up their sleeves, dug in together, and ate with their hands. Beyond just the food, Rich's presentation of each dish brought a dose of entertainment, craftsmanship, and mastery few on my team had ever been privy to experience. I lost count of the times I heard "this was the best meal I've ever had."The experience was unforgettable and the buzz at the office for an entire week. I'm giving 5 stars only because I can't give 6. Bravo!

We hired Chef Rich for our small elopement wedding this past weekend and highly recommend his services. He prepared an incredible dinner that we planned together. You could cut the filet with a spoon, honestly. Chef Rich and his assistant were professional, efficient and friendly--well worth the investment. My husband and I are very happy with our choice to work with him.

I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. I don't quite understand how they could charge this much knowing that the ingredients they used were fairly affordable. Honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Allison was very sweet. The place was very cute. Only 2 positives.

One thing I didn't expect was its long 2.5 hrs. I wish they offered charcuterie or something that you can order to Nosh on. We made chocolate chip cookies first that we made spiders on. Next we made Royal Icing that was a bit tough to make and stiff. After we made cookie cut outs and baked. My only gripe is I wish they maybe did more of a soft icing and some toppings like sprinkles because the royal icing was hard to do any type of nice decoration on. Overall we left with a ton of cookies made and 2 big rolls of sugar cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough to Take home. I wish they offered more kids classes. I checked Nov and Dec and nothing showed.

Chatted a bunch with the bartender who was very personable. Our drinks were perfectly made and overall, we had a really lovely time. The space was well designed, open and had a nice feel. The water was fruit infused which was a nice touch. As mentioned, we'll absolutely be coming back for a cooking class, but probably for another drink, too!

I also appreciate that he gave me a full credit for what I had spent on the class to be able to try them again with another class. I am very pleased with this solution, and can only add that I suggest they prioritize training their customer service team to be more solutions oriented in the future, and to avoid simply not responding to their customers. This solution is what I was hoping for the whole time, just had to wait two months to get it. ------------------------- This service is a joke. You are better off booking with the venue hosting the cooking classes directly. I had purchased this class as a Christmas present for my partner and I. I chose an "Exciting Spanish Meal" after reviewing all of the options available. CozyMeal confirmed details numerous times before the class. When we arrived, we weren't cooking the meal that I had booked, it was actually a French meal (all of the components I had already cooked myself numerous times so this wasn't much of a class for me). I let the chef know we had signed up for a different class and he said it must be a glitch with the CozyMeal system, as that venue had the French class booked that night for months prior. I contacted CozyMeal customer service the next day and they said they were escalating my issue, whatever that means. I was shuffled around between three different customer service members, all saying they were waiting for an update. I didn't hear back for two weeks so I inquired again if there were any updates, they said they were still waiting. I contacted twice more for follow up after that, one a week after, one three weeks after, and still to this day have not received another email or any communication or "updates" from CozyMeal. My class was January 12th and it is now March 27th and I have not received any further communication from them. These classes are not cheap, I spent $89 per person for a class I did not sign up for, that was of no value to me at all. That is why I said book with the venue directly instead of CozyMeal, at least you will have peace of mind of where your money is getting spent, and won't get ignored by customer service after spending $180 on a class you have no idea if you will actually get to take.

So imagine the pleasant surprise when the same friend had the same 4th of July party exactly one year later, only this time to discover that the person responsible for the most amazing food was her! There was so much thought that went into the food.. what I mean is, not only was it delicious, but there was something for everyone (vegans, paleos, veggies, people that just want to pig out and eat deep fried pickles with the best sweet and sour sauce... I didn't even know that was an option in life until that day). I digress. Ok.. so here you have all these different types of food, all delicious AND all following one unified theme.. 4th of July. In other words, even though there was something for everyone it didn't look like a pot luck dinner where everyone brings something different. My mind is being blow b/c I didn't appreciate this awareness until right now, as I am typing.
