    Happy hour corn ribs
    Christina J.

We went to Watercourse for happy hour yesterday, and it's still one of my favorite restaurants in Denver! They do have a great happy hour and I can highly recommend the corn ribs and cauliflower and seitan wings. We also shared the classic Philly sandwich, and I probably wouldn't order that again as I would have liked to have tasted more vegan cheese and flavor, but it was certainly filling! The interior is really homey and the staff is super nice. I'll definitely be back!

I always stop by Watercourse Foods when I make it up to the Denver/Cherry Creek area, and tell so many people about how it is the most amazing vegan restaurant, but it isn't the same anymore. They just changed their menu to a fraction of their previous selections, so many great items are no longer available, including the Cuban, breakfast, charcuterie, and so much more. No more lunch specials or table service, which is a bit of a bummer. The service is still wonderful and the outdoor seating is great on a sunny day, but I hope they can go back to their old menu selections soon!

Came here for a solo lunch on a Tuesday-- it was later in the afternoon and they weren't too busy . The decor is clean and welcoming (lots of wood & artwork). You seat yourself and have a choice to order with the QR code or go up to the counter. It being my first time I went up to the counter to get some additional recommendations. I went with the side buffalo cauliflower & the chicken Caesar salad. Both were fresh, had lots of flavor and filling-- highly recommend. When closing out my tab at the counter, I picked up a chocolate chip cookie togo (extra large in size and just the right about of sweetness). With the menu so unique I prefer a little more "hands on service" but the experience was tasty and eager to come back and try other things. Clean, homemade, high quality vegan food with lots of GF options/ substitution-- Highly recommend.

Everything was spectacular - the food is beyond amazing, the staff are so friendly, and the ambience is great with good music too. Definitely highly recommend and will come back.

Cuban sandwich with side of broccoli, and ginger beer.

Really lovely all vegan place that I visited twice while I was in Denver. Between my two visits, I got the gnocchi with sweet potato sauce, the Cuban sandwich, ginger beer, and the giant chocolate chip cookie. All of it was really great, but I think the gnocchi was my favorite of the two entrees. The ginger beer is not super gingery, tastes like Fevertree. The chocolate chip cookie with sea salt is an absolute must! It comes wrapped so I took mine back to the hotel to share with my non-veg husband after he got back from his work conference dinners and he said they were the best chocolate chip cookies he'd ever had! Also, I think it's fun that the plates are made to look like wood, but aren't. The first time I came it had been pouring rain, so the restaurant wasn't as full and it was very easy to find an open table, but the second time it was positively packed, and both times were week nights, so I suspect this place is pretty popular with the locals. I like that the ordering is done through QR code and website, since that would make it easy for groups and means you don't have to all know what you want at the same time (or, if dining solo as I was, you don't need to interact as much with staff, which is sometimes a blessing). Several members of the staff wore face masks, which I appreciated, and there were some nice paintings on the walls from local artists for sale. If I am ever in Denver again, I think I would really like to come back here--and I'd definitely get the chocolate chip cookie every time!

This is a 100% plant based restaurant. We grabbed the macro bowl which has miso tofu and a variety of hot and cold components and is very flavorful. Additionally tried the Reuben with a side of vegan mash potatoes and gravy. The Reuben tasted like real meat. Good vibes. Nice indoor seating. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure.

We had a great time at Watercourses Foods. While I'm not primarily eating a plant diet, I really enjoyed watercourse foods. The Mac and Cheese was very good and the fries were also very good. The drinks were one of our favorite items of the dinner and we enjoyed our experience. Our service was good but not overly amazing. This place is great for a large group and the vibe was fun. It was warm - temperature wise - in the restaurant which caused my rating to drop slightly.

Without realizing until we ordered our food, the owners may be (are) the same as City O' City! We knew that we loved this seitan buffalo chicken strips so we ordered them again here. Dare I say they were better because the buffalo sauce was more evenly dispersed. I was having a really hard time, deciding on what to order but we got the vegan Philly cheesesteak and the recommended popular turkey and brie sandwich . I opted for a side of Caesar salad. No complaints about anything they were exactly what you wouldn't expect. Very very good mimics to the non-vegan versions. I'd say this is a good restaurant for anyone trying vegan food for the first time. However I'm a longtime vegan but that's okay. I like a good Caesar salad here & there. Our service was good. Our server was very helpful and telling us about the menu and asking if we needed anything else and checking in on us. The ambience is very cute. Love the wood paneling and the local artist decor throughout the restaurant. You could say this is good for intimate or large groups. It does tend to get a little bit loud, but that's maybe just due to loud guests by us..

Really large portions! They have a bunch of vegan comfort food and a great cocktail menu. They also have a little plant cutting swap at the front! It's generally not too busy when I've been here as they have a lot of seats but they do have reservations!

This is one of the first vegan restaurants in Denver and I haven't been back for ten years. But this time, it's very underwhelming. The food is quite mediocre, almost taste like convenient store foods. Also, you'll need to order food by scanning the code and order on your phone. Otherwise they will not come bring you water and treat you like you don't exist.

The ambiance here is nice and chill with great outdoor seating. We came here for lunch on a weekday and didn't have to wait. Our server was super nice and patient with us as we were waiting for a third. The food is really good and overall a great experience. Lots of gluten free options! The cauliflower wings are to die for! Sooooo yummy and gluten free. I like the teriyaki better than the buffalo, but I usually don't like buffalo. This one was a little too overwhelming flavor wise. The blacked tofu ceaser wrap was also really good! Had lots of veggies in it so it was super filling. We got wayyyyyy too many fries! Not a bad thing, but we definitely couldn't finish it. Id reccommend this place especially if you have friends that are vegan or vegetarian.

    Grilled cheese with side Caesar

We came here to celebrate a family member's birthday, and it was my first time at a vegan restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and how many great options there were. Even though the menu impressed me, I played it safe and went with a grilled cheese sandwich (from the kids menu) and a Caesar salad on the side. It might sound like a boring choice, but it was actually really tasty! The Caesar salad was unique, lightly dressed and made with hearty greens like kale instead of just romaine. I also got to try a bite of the Orange Teriyaki Bowl and instantly regretted not ordering that instead. So good! Service was excellent, especially for a party of 10. I wish I remembered our server's name. She was blonde, super friendly, and really attentive. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

Recently got food from here for the second time but for takeout. My partner and I shared the philly cheesteak and it was surprisingly really good. The soy curls were tasty and I enjoyed the texture. The "cheese" sauce came on the side and was good for dipping the fries into as well.

Then the food starts showing up and suddenly the whole table is passing plates around because everyone keeps saying "wait, try this." We ordered a bunch of things and the smoked carrots were probably the biggest surprise for me. I would absolutely go back just to eat those again. The masa birria, diver scallops, and grilled artichokes and asparagus were all great too. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly and came with duck fat potatoes, which immediately puts me in a good mood. Dessert also fully delivered. The banana cream pie with black sesame whip was one of those desserts where you keep going back for another bite even when you're already full. It just felt like a really thoughtful meal from start to finish. Definitely one of my favorite dinners I've had in a while.

As a bacon lover, this sandwich felt like home. I was really pleased they opt for a savory tofu as the protein option on this sandwich, as I prefer tofu to tempeh for all reasons. Each food item on their vegetarian and plant-forward menu comes with a side salad dressed in this incredible, light vinaigrette. I dream of that dressing. I had the Thai peanut salad, which was incredibly bland. The sauce/dressing was scanty and barely tasted like anything -- I didn't taste peanuts really and definitely no hint of curry/spice like I expected. There was a section of sliced jalapeno but I didn't want to eat raw jalapeno with my salad, I wanted a zestier dressing. The "crispy" tofu was tofu that was completely fried so it had a texture like a crunchy zwiebach cracker/rusk -- I had been envisioning something with some softness and a chewy exterior. My beverage was a lavender Palmer that was a pint jar of lemonade with some lavender tea on top. For those two items it was $27. I have some oral allergy issues and after eating, I had a "burned" mouth feeling like I get from tahini, walnut or eggplant. I don't think any of these ingredients would have been in the salad, but I do not have an issue with peanuts (eat them all the time). I called to ask if the dressing had tahini in it and was told no, but it still concerned me.

My typical go to is on of the salad. Now salads typically are not standout at most restaurants, but the ones at Kawa Ni just hits different. Both the red cabbage and pear salad and the brocolli salad are delicious and the portion is massive, easily enough for a table of 4 to share. For apps and shareable entrees, you can't go wrong here. The build your own tuna temaki hand rolls can easily be shared and the tuna is so fresh and well seasoned. The szechuan dumplings are delicious, as is the curry onigiri and the bao bun. The Dan Dan noodle, kimchi Carbonara, and their tonkotsu ramen are also amazing, and, with the exception of the tonkotsu ramen, can easily be shared. I would highly recommend other seasonal dishes as well, such as the coconut swordfish or chicken katsu parm. However, one of my absolute favorite dish here is the ochazuke. It's basically grilled fish over rice in a warm green tea dashi. It's so comforting, especially on a cold night, and a dish that I return to time and time again. Overall, Kawa Ni is an amazing japanese restaurant. Come for the food and just make sure you get a sake bomb and ask for the gong when you do.
