when I went in I was very confused it did not look like food was being served, and had a whole set up of heated bins but all empty in the front. lol They definitely have to work on the ambiance. But I saw pictures online and it looked delicious and healthy so I was like you know what ... I'll give it a shot because I'm hungry and I don't feel like doing super fast food right now! Great arabic food! The restaurant is in Downing and the parking is easy to miss if you're not paying attention. I got the falafel sandwich to go and thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the additional spicy green sauce that came along with the order. I'll be back tomorrow my way through the menu. Arabic food is not super common to find in this part of town so I am glad I have one more option! The tables were dirty, but seeing as it was a one man show I can see how it got away from him. Decent Mediterranean food but not my favorite. We found the place after visiting the nearby beer spa and love Mediterranean food. The interior does not look good - kinda rundown and no one else was there besides the workers- so we ordered food to go. We ordered a grilled chicken plate to share and it was a decent amount of food for the price. I was sad there wasn't any tzatziki sauce and we were only given a tiny amount of hummus. The chicken and the rice were good. The falafel was just okay, nothing special. We also got baklava which was hard- it tasted super old and that it's been sitting in the tray for awhile. It's too bad there aren't more Greek/ Mediterranean places in Denver (that I've found) but sadly I don't think I'll be back here. read more

I'm giving this place 4/5 simply because the fries had no flavor. Now it definitely looks a little sketchy around the outside, as well as the inside, but the food makes up for it. If you try to sub the fries for rice, you won't be getting that, because we tried for both of our orders and we still got charged for a side of rice. I don't think you should get the fries because a plate is MORE THAN ENOUGH, and the fries have A LOT of color but no flavor. I kept on trying to find the flavor but I truly couldn't. The rice and pita were my favorite part and the salad was a very small portion but it was SOO GOOD. They also had a great green sauce and yogurt sauce that was amazing. We'll definitely be going back, and just a heads up when we went there was only one person behind the counter. I got the gyro plate and it came with half a pita. Tried two different plates - I didn't even finish my chicken "schwarma" plate; the chicken was shredded chicken curry . . . and it was sweet, for some odd reason - nothing like any of the pictures on here or Google. The rice was okay, as was some green sauce that came with it. The Gyro Plate wasn't much better, but at least resembled and Gyro Plate. This place is a hidden hole in the wall GEM! we showed up 15 minutes before closing and the guy was so nice to stay open and make us our food. We wanted the chicken shawarma but unfortunately he had run out of chicken by that time. We got two falafel wraps instead and they were great! Very flavorful, authentic, and tasty. We also asked for a bunch of sauces on the side and he gave them to us. The sauces were spicy and perfectly flavorful. The only thing I would say is that I felt the falafels were a little too soft, and it would have been nice if they had a crunchier exterior. Hayati means "my life" in Arabic, which is what most couples say to each other to express just how far their love for each other reaches. And food and the culture of food is one of the only means to transcend politics, differences, and used as a way of expression for each other. So - I have to give a star for this concept. I got confused that this was Mediterranean food. Where is my hummus? There is Cheesesteak on the Menu and Chicken Wings!! And then I thought - maybe a hybrid of Middle-eastern but I think I'm being too picky because term Mediterranean can incorporate both while the two share flavors like the flatbreads, roasted meats, Etc The Deal: 1) Reasonable prices 2) Offerings of Goat and Lamb on the bone, obviously no Pork on the menu 3) Veggie options 4) And yes - they offer fried Oreos and Fried Cheesecake, this is honestly not my thing - but if you are from the Jersey Shore and missing this, it's on point. 5) Everything comes w/ Rice, Salad, and Pita 6) Decent Falafel but I'm pretty picky with my Falafel since I spent a lot of time in the Middle-east. 7) Fav. is Fried Tilapia because some how this was not fishy at all. This is now one of my favorite spots for Mediterranean food here in Denver. The staff were so incredibly friendly, the food is Halal (yayyy for food inclusivity!), and the flavors are scrumptious! It's not a very big restaurant, so I'd suggest placing a to-go order if you have a large group. Also, if you are an adventurous eater and want to try out the goat on their menu, you might want to head over a little earlier in the day because apparently they run out of it kind of quickly. I haven't tried the goat yet, but everything else I ordered was tender, robust with flavor, and a really good value. I will definitely be back here, and I'm bringing friends! read more
