    Kibbeh and Chicken Shawarma Plate
    Amelia S.

Zaman is an awesome restaurant on the corner of Logan and Alameda. You can dine in or take out, but if you dine in, all meals are served with delicious lentil soup. We got the kibbeh appetizer and chicken shwarma plate. The portions here are huge, so our appetizer and entree was more than enough to feed two adults. The staff here is so nice. They even gave us Syrian ice cream rolled in pistachios as a free dessert.

We discovered this Mediterranean restaurant by chance and glad that we did. The decor was clean and very tasteful. Seating was plentiful but parking was small. We chose to sit outside at one of the tables that had a fence full of pretty flowers. I chose the falafel with hummus sandwich that was fresh, crunchy, and tasty. The food was authentic and freshly baked. Staff were friendly and served us complimentary lentil soup. We shared a delicious baklava for dessert. We had an enjoyable experience.

    Very good humus.

Meat & chicken shwarma sandwiches were tasty. Very good humus and pita. The lentil soup was my fav. The pastries looked good but no room. Order at register and bus yourself. The middle eastern touches of objects were nice.

I was in the mood for Middle Eastern food when I walked into this restaurant, and I was immediately impressed. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was excellent, and the entire place was spotless. A clean bathroom is always a good sign of what's happening in the kitchen, and this place passed with flying colors. Everything is made fresh and tastes authentic. One of my many favorite dishes was the falafel and hummus -- they seriously should bottle and sell their hummus because the texture is unbelievably smooth and delicious. The kebbeh, tabbouleh, za'atar cheese pie, chicken, beef, kafta kabobs, and gyro were all fantastic. There were five of us, and the 4-Person Family Mix Grill was more than enough food. To top it all off, we had tea and Turkish coffee with their incredible baklava -- hands down the best I've ever had. You can actually watch them brew the Turkish sand coffee (hovoli) by burying a small coffee pot into hot sand heated over an open flame. It was such a treat to experience and watch. Zaman clearly makes their food fresh daily and takes immense pride in both their food and service. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Zaman's!

Zaman makes some authentic and tasty Mediterranean food. The staff was so friendly in helping pick out what to order and giving recommendations. The prices are a bit steep for the amount of food you get. I ended up getting the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was a lot of flatbread and not a ton of meat. I got spicy garlic sauce that enhanced allll the flavors. Tables inside and outside - although the outside is just in a parking lot.

As soon as I walked in I knew I was in good hands. Davit was very respectful and orderly. Hannah was also nice. Food was a 10/10, would stop by again.

Service was mediocre at best but this place solid for its quality of food is not an overstatement. It was a to-go experience several days ago. It was mid-afternoon so the restaurant wasn't busy. We were quickly assisted once we had known what we'd wanted. The young lady who assisted wasn't really smiling; we really didn't sense any warmth from her either but she wasn't rude in anyway. One thing about this place is the pricey food. The Beef Shawarma plate - although its portion was more than decent is/was priced at $26 plus some change. Also, the grape leaves (contains 5-6) is/was priced at $13 with some change. I wish the prices were a bit lower. At home, my daughter and I immediately started eating our food. Yup, like I said, we weren't disappointed with the quality. They also gave us two oversized freshly made pita breads (came with the beef plate.) Well, I guess this explains why the steepness of the prices. All in all, the experience was good. I will utilize their business again for sure. By the way, the restaurant wasn't spotlessly clean which is always a plus.

Great place with manakeesh, kabobs and complementary coffee and tea. High quality offering well worth the price. Have gluten free pita for those who need it as well. Huge quantities of food! Staff quite accommodating and nice quiet place.

Very fresh and tasty. Authentic flavors and fantastic presentation. You can tell they care about what they are serving .

    Gyros Sandwich

While tasty I can not justify $20 for this amount of food. No sides, just a gyro. $19.62 to be exact. I spent less on 3 sushi rolls down the street for lunch yesterday. Wassim, I appreciate the reply but I ordered at the counter and waited for my gyro, there was no third party involved.

Zamans is a really simple strip mall restaurant...do not expect fancy smancy inside decor but what you get in return is solid food with friendly service. First off they have bomb ass Humus and Baba ghanoush both are exemplary versions that do not go overboard on the flavorings....you know the kind that can be insanely smokie. Simple sandwiches and plates of generous well prepared food at pretty reasonable prices await you. My Falafel sandwich was good although I am more the half a warm pita and stuff each side rather than a pita wrap which I do not like. Good Shawarma, solid vegetarian plates. Fries were meh. The food will not wow you like Golden Falafel of Sahara but for what it is and where it is located Zaman will do you fine

Food: So yummy!! So fresh!! (1) Gyro plate (shared with one other person and I'm so glad I did because we still had one serving left even after we split it). The food amount/quality for the price cannot be beat! (2) Falafel appetizer was delicious! Comes with 6 golf ball size. Nice dipping sauce as well Service: This place is fast casual (like a noodles and co, Panera, etc). Easy weekday vibe. The gal at the front was super attentive and got us an extra fresh pita with our to-go box - what?! Super nice! Ambience: Honestly a little lack luster. I'm not sure if it's the lighting or the fact that it's in a tiny strip mall with a small amount of parking. But the food is fire so it's all worth it. This is definitely my new go to for mediterranean food pickup/delivery. Not sure I'll be back to dine in but I'm certain I'll be back!

You must be driving west on Alameda to access the parking lot. There is a large sign there. You can enter the market from the main entrance facing Alameda or from the back entrance off the parking lot. The front of the store has a long wall of imported groceries and a bakery counter offering breads, pastries, quiches, fresh sandwiches (on baguette, croissant, or pretzel bun), soups, salads, and a wide variety of imported chips and drinks. There's a huge cheese cooler and lots of chilled, grab-and-go items. A table offers some kitchenware and gifts. A seating area is provided by the parking lot entrance. I'm on the mailing list which has offered a series of food specials and pop-up events. I was enticed in last weekend by a pop-up cassoulet special. I arrived to find a tent at the edge of the parking lot, sheltering a huge propane wok. The white beans, sausage, and pork belly were gently simmering with a wonderful aroma. What a treat!

I went here right after my blood work at a nearby medical facility (LOL! Oh boy, I was hungry as I…read morewas fasting!) A thought of freshly made sandwich sounded so good so before I went in for the blood work, I did a little search on Yelp to find some new sandwich places and this shop is/was one of the suggested ones. As I am always looking for a new business to try (this store was also up the street from where I would be for the medical appointment), I wasted no time to rush to this new deli to check it out. As of early September 2025, there are only several reviews posted for them; this is an indication that this business had just opened. Based on what those people said, it sounded like a solid business. The store is on the northeast corner of Downing and Alameda. Although this is not a super big intersection, it sure is a busy one. And yet, its exterior appearance (they have two doors: one facing Alameda and the other facing the parking lot) is somewhat inconspicuous or unassuming (it could be good and bad at the same time.) Had I driven by it, I would only notice the Italian restaurant (Olivia) on one corner or Starbucks (on the other corner). Hopefully they are getting much needed attention from people that pass by it. I entered the store using the door facing the parking lot. This is where you will see the seating area. And to get to the rest of it, you will pass the register on the right. Once you make that left turn you will see more stuff that this store offers. Most of the grocery items are on the left side along the wall. Then there is the fantastic-looking cheese room to the right. The deli counter is at the end where the workers will make your sandwich. There is also a showcase where they display some sweet stuff/cakes (they looked pretty good by the way.) This is quite the space (so if you look down from the top/ceiling (not that you can do that), this store is L shaped.) One of the workers (a lady who was at the register) cheerfully greeted me. I already knew what I wanted (as I peeked their sandwich menu ahead of time). It appears to be a limited time item and it's called "The Saint Tropez". Simply put, this is a tuna salad sandwich on a freshly baked French baguette. As the little info sheet at the register says, this is a light, cold summer offering that is perfect for warm weather cravings. I simply couldn't think of anything else so without doing anything further, I immediately asked for this summer sandwich. The price is $15.99 (and after tax, it's $17 with some change. Not necessarily super reasonable (I thought) but I was more focused on the quality of it.) While the lady was making my sandwich, I looked around the store to take some photos. I spotted some interesting European grocery items that we don't normally see at our local grocery chain but I was most impressed with the refrigerated cheese room. I don't eat a lot of cheese anymore and yet, this store's selection is quite large where if you are needing some cheeses for your next gathering (holidays etc.) then you might consider this place to find some interesting kind(s). It didn't take long for the lady to make my sandwich. As I came out of the beautiful cheese room, she handed me a long/skinny sandwich that was wrapped in a white butcher paper. As soon as I got to my car, I immediately started devouring my sandwich. And it did not disappoint. The crispy French baguette was most delicious and was picture-worthy looking. The tuna salad (house made) wasn't overloaded with mayo-type marinade/sauce. Some slices of tomatoes, plenty of arugula, and noticeable amount of hard boiled egg slices. It was cut in half in the middle but I didn't take any break between the halves (told you, I was hungry after fasting for hours!!) This is a nice deli to have within our reach. I bet on a beautiful weekend, they get a good amount of foot traffic because people can stop by here to grab a delicious sandwich and go to Wash Park for a little picnic. Sounds like a great idea to me!

There's no performance here, no hospitality theater, no one asking how the first few bites are treating you. You walk up to the counter, you order, you take a number, you sit down. The food does the talking. And the food has a lot to say. I went on a bright Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and ordered the classic breakfast, swapping bacon for pastrami (a first for me) with an everything biscuit on the side (also a first). Both were revelations. The eggs over-hard might be the best version of that order I've ever gotten from a restaurant -- just a whisper of uncooked yolk in the center, perfectly seared on both sides. Skillet potatoes were spot-on. The skillet pastrami was rich and properly crisped at the edges. And the two generous slices of sourdough arrived with a scratch-made blueberry jam that I ended up smearing on everything I could -- sourdough, biscuit, probably would've eaten it with a spoon if no one was looking. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which clearly belongs in the staples category. The baguette was the star: toasted outside, pillow-soft inside, zero tug-of-war with your teeth. That detail alone tells you the kitchen cares. This is the Ron Swanson part: there's an unapologetic confidence to this place. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not trying to oversell it, and they're not interested in charming you into liking it. They're just going to hand you something excellent and trust you to figure out the rest. The coffee was good. The food was setting-a-benchmark good. A real 5 out of 5 stars, no pickin nits. Mild observation, not a complaint: the service is counter-only, no traditional table service. Would Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon dropping plates off elevate the experience? Sure. But Ron wouldn't have it any other way, and honestly, neither would I after eating here. If I lived within 45 minutes of downtown Denver, this would be my destination breakfast. As it is, I'm a 12 hour drive away, and if it were only 11, perhaps I'd go tomorrow. The real downside? The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture.
