Couscous Hice opened today in Park Hill where the old GB Fish and Chips existed. What a great addition to Park Hill. I stopped in for lunch and the owners, Ed and his wife Soumia, warmly greeted me and answered all my questions. We talked about my horse while I checked out the menu. I settled for a Green O'Bneen a vegetable offering of zucchini and fava beans over couscous. Ed asked if I wanted it spicy and added a special harissa sauce to spice my dish up. It was very good. The menu says that they will be adding dishes like a tagine. And I have saved the best for last. The sweets were just perfect. I had a single date stuffed with a delicious coconut cream. It was small but filled the sweet tooth. They have decorated the space with objects from Moracco. It is clean with three or four tables. They have Moroccan hot and cold tea and all the other US soft drinks. I love that we have another dining culture located in the neighborhood. I am sure they will become very popular.

The Chicken Tajine was incredible! I ordered it and enjoyed it while listening to the singing of Fouad and his wife and ordered the chicken pastilla to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience and best of luck to your business and family.

I am from California, and I visited Denver. I found myself at this Moroccan restaurant, and I'm going to be honest their food was delicious and authentic. I really enjoyed it, especially their tagine and couscous. Personally, I loved their tagine the most. It was truly delicious.

A new Moroccan restaurant just opened in the neighborhood, and it's a true gem. Owned by a married couple, the space is warm, welcoming, and clearly built with care. They treated us with such kindness--it felt more like being hosted than dining out. The food was excellent: flavorful, perfectly spiced , and fresh, vibrant bread and chakchouka. You could tell everything was made with intention. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back--not just for the food, but because it feels good to be there. We'll be back soon.

I enjoyed Morrocan food years ago when I was on vacation in Casablanca. Also, this year friends visited from Morocco during Ramadan. Though Muslims fast during the daytime, at night they eat well. My friend's mother lovingly prepared homecooked dishes every day. I was in heaven. On both occasions when I dined at Couscous Hice, I was brought back to that same heaven. The spices were perfectly balanced, with delicate flavor layers. It was like eating homecooking in a Morrocan family's home. The meat was tender, the bread was straight from the oven and was complimentary to the olive oil (Morrocan is the best). The couscous was of the perfect texture. I loved the simplicity of the dishes while still featuring the complexity of layers of flavor. The owner Fouad and his wife exude love in the restaurant's atmosphere. I could taste love in the food. I'm Creole, from New Orleans. Cooking is a big part of our culture. I'm trained to sense the ingredient of Love in food. Fouad is quite the conversationalist, is warm, intelligent, and talented. I recommend that you visit Couscous Hice. Enjoy the Morrocan culture in a warm and cozy environment. Bring a friend as I've brought a couple. Now they're bringing friends. Check it out! Kevy

The buffet allowed me to try everything - and it's nothing like what you're picturing. There was constantly warm, fresh pita to try the hummus, whipped feta and tabbouleh. There was constantly fresh fruit out with honey yogurt that was to die for. While there was a ton of meats and cheeses to try from, the star of the show was the falafel. You can't miss trying it, it was the best falafel I've ever had. The vibes were great for brunch, and I highly recommend going for buffet style if you want to try a bunch of things on the menu.

The restaurant has this nice open feeling to it with a full bar (you can order off the full menu if a solo or pair dining) and then plenty of tables. I recommend coming with a larger group if you can so you can try lots of things. Servers are nice and attentive. Obviously you have to try various hummus plates. The foraged mushroom and brussels sprouts were my favorite. I especially loved the jalapenos on the brussels sprouts one. The hummus itself was creamy and rich and the pita they bring is warm and fresh. The tabbouleh was fine but nothing spectacular and it says it has avocado in it but I didn't detect it. I love muhammara and theirs did not disappoint. The pickled vegetables were nice but I also love pickled anything. Absolutely make sure to get the bright green falafels. Probably my favorite of the night. Perfectly crispy exterior with a soft warm center that I'd eat over and over again. We ordered the duck but I was quite full so did not taste it. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is the scallops were incredibly underwhelming and quite bland. The scallops themselves were cooked fine but no flavor and the pomegranate sauce didn't add much. There desserts were also just so-so.

The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. I'm mad. Not at them... at myself…read more I lived in Denver for over five years and just now made it to El Five, and now I understand why it's such a staple. The menu was recently refreshed and it shows. The mushroom paella was loaded and perfectly cooked, the burrata was a solid start, and the Turkish pizza with halloumi was a surprise standout. The poached cod was also great, especially the sauce. The drinks were just as strong. The L5 margarita with salt foam was really good, and even the frosé, which I usually skip, worked perfectly here. The vibe is a big part of it. The downtown views are hard to beat and the patio is easily one of the better ones in the city. Inside also feels intentional and well designed. Service was excellent. Avery was our server and it was her first day, which you wouldn't have guessed. Carl and Mark also made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. For dessert, the Lisbon chocolate cake and Turkish kunefe were both great. The Basque cheesecake and lobster salad also stood out and had those memorable bites that stick with you. I assume seating on the other side would give you a view of the mountains but we didn't explore. For the food, we just ordered 2 starters: eggplant fries and patatas bravas. The potatoes were dry and starchy and not crispy like I would hope and expect for the dish, would not order again. The eggplant fries on the other hand were amazing - crispy with a sweet glaze and perfectly tender on the inside. I would come back just for these fries. The seafood dishes looked and smelled amazing as we saw other tables get them and I'd come back to order other dishes just because the views, drinks, and service were so great.

To update my most recent review of this place after getting me the Kafta Kabab plate…read more... Amazingly good quality food and friendly service!! On a super chilly Friday night, after I had been done with my second hustle business not too far from this restaurant, before I headed for another business I would need to take care of, I stopped here as I was famished. I simply couldn't think of any other place where I could get food that always promises quality where I wouldn't have to wait too long to get it. I was truly fearful that my uncontrollable appetite would swallow me had I gone to a different restaurant where I might end up waiting too long (LOL!!) My choice was right. And to be greeted by the same kind gentleman (who had always assisted me in the past) warmed up the core of my heart and soul. He did say to me that I should have called in to place my order ahead because he said that the kitchen was quite busy and that I might wait at least or as long as 20 minutes. I told him I was willing to wait although my stomach continued to yell at me from inside!! Well, I got lucky; it didn't take long. See...my assumption was right; this place never disappoints. This time, instead of the usual I get (the vegetarian plate), I tried something different. It's the Kafta Kabob plate. This is another great dish to consider ordering at this place as long as meat is part of your diet. The meat was unapologetically tender and well-seasoned. It was hard to fathom as to how they perfected this technique to cook it to its perfection. The accompanying salad and hummus were gracefully served in the same container. Did I say that Golden's hummus is one of the best? I think I did at least once. It is because of its impeccable creaminess. Awww...I can eat this thing almost everyday if I must. This is a tiny, more of a family-run restaurant type place. Inside is quite basic and yet it's never messy or dirty. This is a place you can comfortably sit and dine without worrying about its cleanliness; sanitation is not an issue. But most of all, you go here for the quality of food. This place easily beats a fine restaurant in an upscale neighborhood for sure.
