Stumbled across this place and was not disappointed. Great service and great food! Got the chicken gyro combo for a great price

Just updated my review from last time that mentioned the odd flavor of the rice. All good this time and just loved all the food. Thank you Celia for the complimentary baklava. Love this place.

Lamb shank. Excellent. Sides too.

The name and exterior are unassuming, but they have a full menu (not just gyros) and an amazing lamb shank! From start to finish, the lamb shank meal was on point. It started with a salad that was simple, but very fresh and had the right amount of dressing, and then came the main plate with rice, hummus and the lamb shank. The rice and hummus were both really tasty. But the lamb shank - wow! It was served in a hearty broth with potatoes and carrots, like a stew. Every bite of the lamb was fall off the bone tender, and plenty of marrow in the bones too. Service was laid-back and friendly. When I ordered the lamb shank she said "good choice." That's the thing to get.

It's located in an old building dying to be renovated. After carefully maneuvering the pot holes and crowded parking lot, we were able to secure the space. About 6 pm, one customer was inside. Decided to check the other restaurant which appeared to be more modern. Only one customer also. Saw gyro platter for $19.99 and, after looking at the Yelp rating, decided to try this place. Not so impressed 1st of all, the waitress was busy talking on her cell phone face timing and couldn't careless about customers. She motioned us to grab a table while chatting onnthe phone. After seating down, she brought two menus and went back to the counter. She was back at it again. Place was loud with music and her voice added to the noise assault to my ears. Since she didn't take the order and I didn't know the steps, I got up to order at the counter. She motioned me to sit down and she came over to take the order. Our grape leaves and salad came out quickly. About 5 minutes later, our food came out to the counter, but she was busy trying to take care of phone orders. The grape leaves were good. Side salad was plain but ok. The gyro plate was ok. Hummus and rice were well seasoned and loved it. The interior of the restaurant is old and didn't look too clean. Looks like the floors are new. I can also smell the faint sewage order. Good thing it didn't get worse. If I was doing the takeout, I would have given 4 stars or higher on their food. For in dining experience, two at the best. If I gave a 5-star review, I would have gotten the baklava. That's what the handwritten sign suggests. I may come back and try the other meat combo. Wish me luck!

Gyros Town is a true gem! The chicken shawarma and gyros are packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and the baklava is heavenly. Amazing food, warm ambiance, and top-notch service make this spot a must-visit for Mediterranean lovers!

Chicken Shawarma

Not sure about the ratings on this restaurant... The chicken shawarma was extremely bland and had an almost off aftertaste. The sauces included helped a bit but they still weren't enough to improve the lack of seasoning. The pita and hummus were delicious but I wouldn't return only for those.

This place reminds me of the restaurant that my Lebanese grandmother would bring me to. Food was the best Lebanese food I've had in CO other than Safta. Food was made quick and Jasmine was so kind and helped me right away

Along with the delicious food and fast service, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our six person table. Shout out to our amazing server, a young woman with curly hair, for her patience and the free dessert! Will definitely be returning soon.

We got the beef and chicken shawarma arabi (distinct because it's crunchy) Ambiance is great and smells delicious. The food is excellent. The service was amazing

Smelled like sewer upon entering but hubby wanted to go here. Our table was dirty and I asked the young woman up front with super long manicured fingernails to clean it which she tried but did a poor job. A man came and asked about drinks but I didn't get my hot tea for 10 minutes. They said they had to "make" it in back. Weird. Hot water and a tea bag in a cup needs to be made? It's very chaotic inside with people coming and going behind the counter and in the kitchen and not any clear idea of who our server was. The interior was shabby and dirty and dusty. The curtains tied in knots. The menus had sticky food on each laminated page and saw that the "servers" didn't do much cleaning at all. No utensils were provided. No napkins were given. My hot tea was plopped in front of me without a spoon or any sweeteners. However, their black tea brand they gave me was really delicious with a hint of cardamom. I reluctantly ordered food and it came out pretty fast. The portions were generous and actually tasted good but not great. The tzatziki wasn't garlicky at all. The gyro meat was a little bland and the rice beneath my meat was not piping hot. The food didn't taste like true Greek gyros and Greek hummus. The pita wasn't made fresh in house and one can tell. The last nail in the coffin for this place was the cigarette smoke coming from the kitchen into the dining area. This place is ugly and dirty and I will not be back.

It had gotten late and we were so hungry. We selected this restaurant because they appeared to be open until 10 PM. When we said we wanted to dine in, we were told they were closing at 9:30. That still gave us ample time to eat. This place is along a row of international restaurants. Inside, it's not huge, but it's cozy and clean. The Gyros plate was large and came with a salad. The presentation was beautiful. The ingredients were obviously fresh, and the meal was delicious.

The food is very good here.. order at the counter... lamb kabobs were amazing. They also make fresh pastries as well.

The buffet allowed me to try everything - and it's nothing like what you're picturing. There was constantly warm, fresh pita to try the hummus, whipped feta and tabbouleh. There was constantly fresh fruit out with honey yogurt that was to die for. While there was a ton of meats and cheeses to try from, the star of the show was the falafel. You can't miss trying it, it was the best falafel I've ever had. The vibes were great for brunch, and I highly recommend going for buffet style if you want to try a bunch of things on the menu.

The restaurant has this nice open feeling to it with a full bar (you can order off the full menu if a solo or pair dining) and then plenty of tables. I recommend coming with a larger group if you can so you can try lots of things. Servers are nice and attentive. Obviously you have to try various hummus plates. The foraged mushroom and brussels sprouts were my favorite. I especially loved the jalapenos on the brussels sprouts one. The hummus itself was creamy and rich and the pita they bring is warm and fresh. The tabbouleh was fine but nothing spectacular and it says it has avocado in it but I didn't detect it. I love muhammara and theirs did not disappoint. The pickled vegetables were nice but I also love pickled anything. Absolutely make sure to get the bright green falafels. Probably my favorite of the night. Perfectly crispy exterior with a soft warm center that I'd eat over and over again. We ordered the duck but I was quite full so did not taste it. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is the scallops were incredibly underwhelming and quite bland. The scallops themselves were cooked fine but no flavor and the pomegranate sauce didn't add much. There desserts were also just so-so.

The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The food is fantastic and the portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable. We shared the Baba Ganoush to start. This is pureed, baked eggplant. Here tahini and pomegranate molasses were added. I am not a big eggplant fan, but this was phenomenal. The presentation was gorgeous with the puree spread out beautifully on a large dish, topped with olives, paprika, parsley, and a very generous dollop of delicious olive oil. An outstanding version of this dish. We received a large plate of very fresh pita triangles to go with the baba ganoush. These were great. We definitely used them to scrape every speck of eggplant off that platter! We both ordered the Gyro Plate. The gyro meat was very authentic, extremely tender, and very flavorful. The plate included a large tower of savory rice, a rich tzatziki sauce, a nice side of silky hummus, some pickled vegetables, and more pita. Another delicious offering and a huge portion. We also had soup as the entrees come with soup or salad. My friend tried the lentil soup and said it was flavorful and tasty. I had the tomato soup which was hardy and richly-flavored. This was a great meal. There's a pastry case with a choice of many Middle Eastern desserts. My friend selected several to take home and we staggered out of the restaurant with lots of leftovers that will make a delightful lunch tomorrow. A wonderful experience.

We have since ordered take out, but I probably wouldn't do that again. Lately, when I get hungry I tend to think of this cuisine. As if to say that I was led to it by some invisible force, like a magnet, I made a u turn to get on the east bound lane to rush to it. A small restaurant but on the outside, I sensed some authenticity. After taking a few photos of its exterior, I stepped inside with high anticipation. On Yelp, it's got a solid 4-star rating left by the past diners/takeouters. Sounds promising. A young lady upfront said a quick hi followed by a question "For here or to-go?" to which I said "to-go. The menu has a good selection of both small (appetizer) plates to entrees. Their menus are somewhat fancy booklet style. Depending on the item, there are some accompanying photos of them. I wanted at least a few items so I went with 1) Fava Beans ($9 from the Appetizer section) and 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo ($17 from the Entree section.) And for the next 45 min (from Boulder to Denver) on a beautiful mid Sunday afternoon, I had go through a very agonizing time smelling the mouthwatering smell of the two dishes while I was fighting the traffic jam caused by an accident on 36. Once I was home though, I wasted no time to savor the two dishes. And this is how my early dinner went: 1) Fava Beans - this dish could utilize more seasoning. It's a little bland or I should say boring. On the positive note, it does taste clean and healthy. I do like simple in many cases where I abhor something that's oversalted. That said, this dish pass my taste test. At the same time, it's definitely not something I highly recommend. 2) Vegetarian Lovers Combo - I can comfortably say that this is a solid dish. There are two falafels that are triangular shaped (never seen them shaped like that). Both baba ghonouj and hummus are in the top two compartments portioned generously. In the main compartment, house salad, rice and tabbouleh are beautifully and carefully placed. One large pita bread that was cut in half was in a piece of foil separately so it wouldn't get soggy. Oh let's not forget, there was one grape leaf on top of the tabbouleh which I saved it for the last. When I finally ate it, I realized that this is/was the star item of the whole combo plate. I've eaten super oily grape leaves that are too soggy in oils but this was perfectly moist and yet not oily. Small and yet it was dense inside. Wish the plate came with two of them. A little suggestion I would like to make to the restaurant (so I hope the restaurant owner read this!!) These two dishes lasted for three meal occasions until dinner time next day. The value for the total price of $23 (before tax) is pretty hard to beat in this high inflation time especially in a city like Boulder. To me, this is a solid 4-star experience.
