My husband and I love Mediterranean food and we have tried quite a few restaurants. Chez Ali left a lot to be desired. Both of us ordered the vegetarian combo. Hummus and baba ganoush were okay. The salads weren't impressive. The Arabic coffee was good, it didn't have any spices though. No water was served. Am unsure if they forgot or they don't serve it. On a Saturday afternoon we were the only people in there, so the food came out pretty quick.

Moroccan Lamb Shank, nothing Moroccan about it.

Read mostly good reviews about Chez Ali and decided to give it a try for lunch on Sunday. At almost 1pm, the place was completely empty. The gentleman who served me was probably the owner and he was very friendly. I ordered the Moroccan Lamb Shank but nothing really Moroccan at all about it, no preserved lemon or dried plum or dried prune, nothing that would say Moroccan. The small bowl of au jus was 90% fat. I only tasted it and decided it was not flavorful enough to pour on the rice. The gentleman told me they usually served the lamb shank with carrots and potatoes which would have been nice but that day on the plate was frozen peas and canned beans.

The letters on the door say closed on Sunday, but there are two lit signs that will say Open! Great chicken shawarma, best falafels, and surprisingly enough for me - the gyro meat was amazing. I am not a fan of lamb, but this I will have any day! I think the location just changed names. I recommended going here for a great Mediterranean meal.

    Grisly inedible chicken shawarma

I've never had an Uber eats order where I told my boyfriend to throw it all away. Worst most disgusting food delivery mistake. The chicken shawarma pita didn't have the toppings it claimed and was so grisly we couldn't bite into it, pita was dry and gross, falafel rubbery, the hummus, tzakiki, and baba watery and flavorless, the entire bag had our orders of pickles spilled and missing turnips and the veggie combo all scrambled in a container. I'm afraid of us getting sick.

I live in the building across the street from this restaurant so i decided to try it. I am glad I did. The owner suggested the today special :the chicken kabab that came with rice and pita, hummus and salad with garlicky dressing. Fresh and quality food. The owner provide excellent dining experience. The Moroccan hot mint tea is out of this world. If you're craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine chez ali Is the place to go to.

*sigh* .... Still on the hunt for decent Greek food in the area :( Just got back from a long vacation so we didn't want to cook. Stumbled upon this place on Uber Eats so decided to order delivery. My husband and I both got the Gyro plate and shared an order of hummus. -Gyro Plate - meat was really thick and dry. I am used to good Gyro meat freshly shaved thin and juicy. A lot of restaurants have meat like this around here so maybe I am spoiled being from CA. The rice was also really bland. I LOVE rice and hardly ate any of this. The only way I found a good way to eat this dish was to put hummus all over and eat it with pita. -Hummus - This was the only good part. The flavor of the hummus was really good, I ate it on everything. The pita bread could have been more fresh. It seemed like it was right out of a bag that I could buy at the grocery store. Well, I will continue on my hunt for good Greek food in the DTC area. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

Really fresh and excellent Middle Eastern food, but hard to find parking. The food is worth the inconvenience, however.

Excellent shwarmas, mushrooms, and especially the baklava. The owner and staff were very accomodating and friendly. We will be going back.

It says they're open until nine. They took my order online, charged me and then I find out from grub hub that they aren't actually open.

I think it's racial profiling I think that's exactly what it is as a black woman they just couldn't tolerate the fact that I chose to come there that's fine they don't even have food there snacks are all some shit and I could care less about that place. But I will say one thing if you're from out of town don't go there because they will treat you like shit the same way they treated me like shit and no one from out of town wants to be treated that way! Like I said I was waiting on my money to come into pay and the owner calls the cops saying I'm gonna steal??? Trash hookah trash everything if you're gonna go to a hookah bar in Denver when you're visiting believe me when I say this isn't it!!! Hasish starts at $12 for the al-fahker, and $14 for starbuzz. You can mix and match flavors, they have a wide arrange of flavors. The downside, however, are the people who are smoking cigarettes indoors at their booths, a $10 cover per person, and they don't serve alcohol. We came on a Saturday night and even though they are busy there were still open tables, and despite the booth areas are love seats, the waitress asked if we could share a table with other people. If they're charging you a cover, you should be able to enjoy your own table in my opinion. I've been to other hookah bars that were also casual but didn't charge you a cover, and I don't feel this place was anything special from other hookah places even though it ended up being more money with the cover charge.

Despite the current ratings of less than 4 stars, I somehow was determined that this place would not disappoint. And my hunch was right; it didn't. We did make a reservation ahead of time. Upon arriving, we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside to which we said inside (for a mid-October evening, the temperature outside was decent and yet we weren't sure about sitting outside the whole time. We made the right call. Occasionally the cool breeze came in from the side door at the bar (as it was left open; they said once closed it locks so it would inconvenience the people out in the open deck area to leisurely come in) and it felt a bit cold to our liking.) Inside was lively. The beautiful modern-looking lounge was filled with all kinds of chitchat by other guests. Our conversation was sometimes canceled by it where we had to talk into our ears but we certainly didn't mind it. Yes, the ambiance is what you come here for. He got the Juicy Bits IPA and I got the French red blend (Grenache and Cote du Rhone). We browsed the food section in the menu. Some looked interesting but we ended up not ordering anything as even though we ate lightly at the first restaurant we were still quite full from it. Our waiter (young male, I believe his name was Payton) was busting his bottom. When he was at our table taking our order he said he was pretty much the only one who was assisting with the guests in the main indoor area. He occasionally got help from his colleague. It appeared to be an understaffed night. We completely understood. Payton, you were pleasant to us; thank you. We truly enjoyed our drinks. FYI - Juicy Bits IPA is not on tap so even though they poured it into a glass the server couldn't pour everything into it so he brought the can as well (btw, it's a 16oz can.) As much as I enjoyed my bold red wine his IPA stole the spotlight at our table. He is a beer guy and he couldn't help but taking a photo of the can for future purposes/purchase. Juicy Bits is a local craft beer made in Greeley. Quite refreshing beer indeed. Well, we sat in our comfy couch for an extended period of time from 6:30 to 9pm. We both stepped outside to the open deck area for a quick view earlier in our dining experience. And we must say that this is one of the best rooftop restaurants we've been to in the Denver area. We shall be back.
