Best kabobs! The hummus is incredible. My only complaint about the kabobs is I wish they served more hummus, it's that good. Got the lamb and chicken and they're both cooked to perfection, not dry at all. The falafels were so good and crunchy and same thing not dry at all. We ordered the mango drink but they said it was sold out and they're making more, then they came back and said they have now have more! I was so excited. The customer service was exquisite, and Aqeel made our experience so hospitable! He told me they do not accept reservations, however to call ahead 15-minutes in advance, and later 5-minutes in advance. He ensured we had a table all set-up for our group of 6 women, and was so very attentive with us, ensuring we had everything we needed, while ordering. In my case, I ordered one of the fresh juices - Lemon with Mint - after seeing nearly every delivery order ordering it, and it was superbly delicious! Then I tried the Cucumber & Yogurt, of course, a favorite. I skipped the dolmas, as I was filling up fast! :-) And I ordered their signature dish: "26. Lamb Haneeth حنيذ لحم," which was superb! Absolutely delicious! We ordered the gyro plate, the chicken and lamb kofta plate, and baklava and everything was amazing. The meats were juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. You can really tell they season everything well. The rice was just as impressive super flavorful and not just a plain side. Portions are very generous, definitely enough to leave full (or share). The baklava was the perfect way to finish the meal , beautifully layered, rich, and flavorful without being overly sweet. And the piece was big too! Worth ALL the hype and then some!!! Check out their IG page @yemengrilldenver for content and then immediately get to one of their 2 locations because the content does not do it justice! Met the owner on the way in and was greeted by a spacious restaurant with plenty of seating and open assembly of plates being dressed for orders. The menu is vast so we opted for the mixed appetizer, large mixed grill and the mint lemonade so we could sample a variety of items. The appetizer comes out and these falafel are piping hot, fluffy, crunchy and ohhh so freaking amazing.... but then you have options to dip them in. Let me tell you about the garlic dip- perfection sums it up but it is so flavorful and you could literally ward off vampires for a lifetime but dammit I'm still dreaming about it 4 days later. The hummus it so silky and creamy, I had no idea it could be this way lol, the baba ganoush is smoky and full flavored, the tzatziki is fresh, clean and tart. The mixed grill is 4 different kabobs nestled on a bed of the most flavorful mandi rice. Don't know what mandi rice is? GO FIND OUT because you're missing out on the most aromatic rice experience if you don't. And then the meats... they're spiced grilled treats packed full of love. The mint lemonade, yeah go on ahead and get the pitcher because you'll want it and then you'll look up recipes because you'll want it ALL the time. I had been to the other Yemen grill thinking I had signed up for the same quality as the other location. Maybe it was an off night but the food and freshness was as mediocre at best. The lamb sandwich lacked freshness and flavor, my wife's falafel wrap was also far worse than the fresh falafels we had at the other location. The banana strawberry shake at $5.99 was utterly sweet and resembled a Costco fruit smoothie but honestly was even less refreshing. The baba ganoush wasn't fresh a the pita was served on a platter that hadn't been cleaned in multiple uses. I guess the only good thing is that they are open till 11pm. Yemen grill lets you watch as they make each of the dishes fresh and hot for each order. I wish you could hear the crunch of each falafel! Hands down you HAVE to order the grape leaves! These are the best and most flavorful, clearly handmade, grape leaves I have had. They carry a bright and salty flavor that had us fighting for the last one! My partner said this was the most moist and flavorful shawarma wrap that he had ever had. They offer delivery and family meals too, that would make a perfect meal prep for a busy week!! The fries were crispy and generously portioned. We had ordered the falafel appetizer, but it arrived after we were finished with our meal. Those were also cooked well. The cucumber dip was delicious! One thing is the person serving us seemed very much like they didn't want to be there, seemed preoccupied with anything but waiting on the tables. So go, the food is great! This restaurant serves amazing middle eastern food might be an understatement. Hence, the reviews averaging 4.5 stars truly reflects accolades many felt when they utilized this business. And I am glad to say that I could add to their raves today. First things first: This place recently moved to (what I would call it) northeast from where it used to be. I had no clue about this so when I showed up to the old location, I freaked out! I immediately had a sign of relief once I got to know that they literally moved across from the street of Havana. When I placed my order, the estimated time of food being ready was anywhere between 5:09pm and 5:20pm. Despite the fact that I first went to their old location, when I arrived at the restaurant at the new location, it was still before the promised time. And yet. my food, to my surprise, had already been ready waiting to be picked up by me. There were two guys upfront. One of them immediately greeted me as I walked up. Service seemed a bit basic and yet there was no rudeness or anything like that. I call it "decent" so hence I could rate that part 3 stars. But what's more important (to me) was the quality of food. I got me the Tabbouleh ($8.49) and Combo Chicken and Lamb Kebab with Rice ($24.49). Whereas the Tabbouleh is/was priced fairly reasonably, I thought the Chicken and Lamb Kebab with Rice was a bit pricy/pricey. Oh well, in this day and age, what can you expect? Cheap quality food is kind of a thing of the past nowadays. I was truly counting on the quality itself. I wasn't disappointed in any way when I started to savor my food. I have had Tabbouleh that was too sour or too lemony but Yemen Grill truly perfected in the Tabbouleh making. Same sentiment goes with the Combo plate. What I was impressed with the most was the Hummus. This was, by far the creamiest hummus I've ever tasted in my entire life. Not that I don't like the taste of garbanzo beans, this hummus didn't taste like garbanzo beans AT ALL. The bed of rice and the two meats (chicken and lamb) were perfectly cooked as well. Let's not forget to mention about restaurant's interior before I conclude this review. It was clean and spacious. Whatever the reason they had to move to this new location, keep up the good work by keeping the place spotlessly clean. As well all know that a any restaurant should have a clean facility, clean utensils, good service but most of all, quality food, this restaurant (as of the writing of this review) checks all the categories. read more

There are very few things I miss about living in Northern VA and one of them is the food. Specifically, two types of restaurants: Peruvian Chicken and Middle Eastern. They serve up fresh and authentic Yemeni cuisine where they specialize in perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful meats served with rice and fresh veggies. The first time the Mr and I dined in here he ordered the Lamb Haneeth which is fall-off the bone, INCREDIBLE lamb marinated and slow roasted, served with their traditional rice. The Mr already declared this is what he's getting every time we dine here and I can't say I blame him. I ordered the Combo Tekah Lamb (lamb kebab) and Shish Tawook (marinated chicken) served with their yellow rice. This plate was served with hummus and a tasty, light salad. This meat was seriously SO DANG tender, my mouth is watering writing this review. This is also a great spot to come with a big group which I did another time. They served our delicious food in a big platter which was perfect for sharing. On this visit we had their grilled fish which was a surprise stunner. I can't quite remember what kind of fish it was, but it was incredible. I can't say enough great things about Yemen Grill. Definitely a hidden gem in Aurora that I highly recommend. read more

Yet another cultural gem on Havana Street. The locally owned and operated Middle Eastern restaurant serves large portions in a comfortably spaced out establishment. We arrived at 11:00am when they opened for lunch. It was slow at first but by the time we left the restaurant was filling up. You won't go home hungry at a place like Yemen Grill. The hardest part is deciding what to order. The menu was much larger than I anticipated. If I was in a bigger group, I'd consider those gigantic platters of food that could feed an army! And what a visual as they get brought out to the table. Baba Ghanouj for the table was a hit. The accompanying pita was really tasty. For mains, we both ordered Kebab Platters. Mine was strictly lamb, with rice, salad, and hummus. Absolutely delicious. The meat had a nice smokey tender flavor to it, it may have been just a tad over done, but I dipped it in hummus and baba ghanouj and it was delightful. Amazing food! Yemeni cuisine has similarities to other cultures that we're accustomed to in mainstream America, but don't be afraid to ask the staff questions or step outside your comfort zone a bit! I dined here on a Saturday evening while in Aurora. I actually intended to dine at a different restaurant. However, the restaurant I was looked for permanently closed. I switched gears and found this restaurant on Yelp. It came across as very appealing and the reviews were good so I was game! So glad I took a risk and decided to try another different restaurant. Yemen Grill is located in a small plaza. It's right off the main roadway. It sits not far from the corner of Havana St and E Iliff Ave. As you enter, you feel transported to another culture. I loved that there were a group of guys sitting at a long table, eating food and speaking in their native language. When I went to the main counter to order food, the cook didn't speak English. However, there was a nice young man (staff member) who stepped in and took my order. He was sitting at a nearby table taking a meal break. I ordered Baba Ghanouj with Pita Bread as an appetizer. I also ordered Lamb Teka for my main entree. The Baba Ghanouj was sooooo delicious! It's probably the best I ever had. I was very impressed with it. They do not have a soda fountain machine. However, they offer cans of soda and do not overcharge for it like some other places usually do. My main entree was good. However, I felt that the lamb was somewhat dry. The rice was succulent and fragrant. I was very impressed with it! Heads up that you will probably end up taking food home. They are very generous with their portions. Bring an appetite! Hummus is also served with the meal. I liked the hummus as well. I met another waiter while dining this evening. He was young as well but personable. I decided to order dessert as they had a few options I've never had before. I chose the Basbousa. This is a cake that is made with semolina and coconut that is soaked in a sugar-based syrup. The cake was okay. I felt that it was a little dry. I actually didn't finish it. When paying my bill I was impressed that one of the waiters at the register noticed that I didn't finish the cake. He asked if I liked it. I was very honest (politely) about the cake. He ended up not charging me for it. This is a very good business practice as I feel customer satisfaction is important. Overall, I very much enjoyed my visit to Yemen Grill. I will without a doubt return here for the enjoyment of delicious food. I'm also willing to give the Basbousa another shot. My wife and I were actually planning on visiting a different restaurant but they were closed. We checked out Yemen grill on yelp and decided to give them a try. We'll I am not sure about the place that was closed but we will be going back to Yemen grill before we try some other location. The food was fresh and hot. Sometimes you get your food very quick and it means the food was already cooked a d just kept warm. Not here the food was cooked after we placed our order it was hot fresh and tasty. We each ordered something but we could have easily split a meal and been satisfied. Instead we had the pleasure of taking some food home to enjoy later in the day and the next day. I was crawling out of the trenches on Evans street. I hadn't eaten in 5hrs, I WAS STARVING. I was beginning to lose hope when the bright beautiful lights of Yemen Grill promised salvation and satiation. I was so weak, but I used my last bit of strength to pull myself through the front door. There to greet me was my angel and savior, Bari. He welcomed me one hour before close, like a shepherd sheltering a lost sheep from an oncoming storm. I was too disheveled and broken from my hunger that I couldn't pick a dish on my own, so Bari graciously recommended me the chicken Shawarma. It came swiftly and promptly, I didn't wait more than 10mins because if I would have had to wait 11minutes God would have welcomed me into his paradise. It was genuinely some of the best food to have graced mine tongue. It was like mana from heaven. The meat was seasoned excellently to perfection and the hummus was the smoothest and creamiest hummus I have ever had. Bari was so kind to me, offering me complimentary pita bread and extra rice.
