Owner seriously needs to get a clue! I came in to get their special chicken wraps, which honestly shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to prepare. What I witnessed while waiting was unbelievable. The hardworking young woman behind the counter was doing absolutely everything. She was taking orders, making food, handling the fries, processing payments, and trying to keep up with customers, while one other guy somewhat helped her, looked like he was new. She was literally running around nonstop and sweating so much that she looked like a football player trying to take on an entire team by herself. There were only about four customers inside, yet the operation was complete chaos. A customer before me had ordered a pizza that was made incorrectly, and after waiting 25 minutes, she demanded a refund because she still didn't have a proper order. Meanwhile, I waited 28 minutes for my chicken wraps and still had nothing. At that point, I requested a refund and left. What made the situation even worse was seeing the owner sitting outside casually chatting and sipping water with someone for the whole time that actually was also an employee while all of this was happening. The hardworking girl even went outside to ask for help, but instead of stepping in, the owner sent her back inside to handle refunds and continue preparing orders by herself. On top of that, the restaurant itself didn't leave a great impression. There was a large object sitting in the dining area covered with what appeared to be a plastic sheet, with parts sticking out from the sides. It looked out of place and gave the restaurant an unfinished, neglected appearance. If this has been sitting there for a while, it should have been addressed long ago. Customers shouldn't have to look at covered equipment or storage items while trying to enjoy a meal. This is absolutely ridiculous. I genuinely hope that young woman finds a better job with better pay because she deserves it. She was the only person making any effort to keep the place running. The owner needs to understand that running a restaurant isn't just about serving food. Customer service, supporting your staff, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment come first. Until that changes, I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Best steak I've had from any Mediterranean/Middle Eastern place. Skirt steak is well spiced, tender, not dried out. Closest I can come to complaining is it needs more salt. The saj flatbread is a chewier pita that I really enjoyed. The jalapeno pesto sauce is more like a chimmichurri, but delicious no matter what you call it with lots of fresh jalapeno and herbs, not a ton of heat. The salad sides can be a bit bland without adding sauces, my wife loved the hummus. Baklava was walnut filled, crispy, not too drenched in syrup so it didn't get soggy. The person who helped me was friendly and courteous, could see her double checking the orders to make sure they were right which I really appreciated. The place looks and tastes like it should be full all the time, but has been nearly empty when I and coworkers have gone so lets change that, this place should be packed. read more

You get 3 sides for the lunch plate, so you will have lots left over (if you eat like I do). They have a choice of regular hummus or spicy. The girl said to do spicy (thank you, sweet person behind the counter!), and garlic sauce, and spicy potatoes and rice and cucumber tomato salad. Yummy. Absolutely LOVED the service here! The food was excellent (especially the spicy hummus and the baklava), and they have a stunning mural across the main large wall, which adds great ambiance. I also thought the prices were great. Saj would be great for a group, since they have an open, casual eating space, and the food comes out quick. Saj is one of the few restaurants I've been going to since high school, and now as I get older I really love that it's still here and I am able to have my favorite meals with my family here. This place serves as nostalgia for me and they have always served great food in my opinion. I always get the same thing, combo plate with beef and chicken, tabouleh, spicy potato and babaganoush, and it has always tasted the same to me since high school, which was like 15 years ago lol. There have been some hiccups with them along the way but I feel they have gone back on course and doing better. Was all alone on a snowy day and I had the Chicken Shawarma plate with Basmati Rice and tomatoes and Cucumbers. The chicken was very tender and high quality meat and they had a delicious sesame sauce I poured on top. The owner was also making deserts and I had walked outside to my car and she handed me this delicious caramel pastry. Love Saj for a quick and healthy lunch option! I usually go for the beef shawarma plate and my husband gets a wrap. Make sure you try the garlic sauce, it's amazing on everything. The saj bread is also really nice and a little thinner than traditional pita. The only thing missing is an option to add a little feta and Kalamata olives to a plate. I was told it would be a $6 extra charge which is steep considering the plate is $12. That price makes sense for some kind of a container full, but I was just looking for a little tablespoon sized amount over my salad and plate. I'd totally be willing to pay an extra $1 or so for it. Thankfully I have both in the fridge at home this week so I passed on that add on today. This is one of our go-to's so we'll definitely be back! read more

Oh I have missed you SAJ! I stopped in for a late lunch for take out around 3:30pm. I ordered a combination falafel and gyro plate with spicy hummus, Baba ghanoush, pickles, feta and tabouli with a wheat SAJ on the side. Covid 19 take out is definitely a process and everyone is still learning. When you enter the restaurant most of the tables are pushed back. The person working there that day did share that they are allowing dine in services at some of the tables. Unfortunately SAJ did not have contactless pay. I would recommend training employees to let the customer swipe their own card to avoid having to hand their credit card to the employee. Also, it would be advised to wipe/sanitize the register screen before and after a customer uses it. It looked like it needed a cleaning. The person at the register took my card and swiped it. Even though the employees are wearing masks and gloves they still have to touch the screen and seems like there could be some cross-contamination by touching the customers card unless they sanitize their hands afterwards before preparing your food. After placing my order I decided to wait outside. I chose not to dine in and to do take out and enjoy my meal outside in the sun. Every time I visit I enjoy my delicious meal. SAJ is very consistent and I love the fresh quality! Plus today I picked up the baklava for a sweet treat. I told myself I will eat half of it and save the rest for later, but it was so delicious I ate the whole thing! Flaky Baklava with a sweet honey crunch. I loved every bite. Definitely don't forget to try their desserts. They are made fresh daily and absolutely so yummy! If you are gathering in a group less than 10 during this craziness definitely cater from them! I got take out from here a couple of days ago. I got the plate w beef. It came w rice then i had 2 sides of my choice Babaganoosh and Cabbage. The gabbage in the pic was a red cabbage, what i got was a plain green uncooked cabbage with salad dressing. The strips of beef were so dry and tough I could barely chew it.
