Hookah Palace - Hookah Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

We ubered here after we found the g place on Yelp and it said it was open until 4 am. It in fact was closed. we had to pay extra on uber to find another place read more

By far the WORST hookah lounge I have ever stepped foot in. Where should I even start?!?! 1. Price: $19 for a bowl of Starbuzz? Are you kidding me? A whole 250 gram can sells for about $20 retail, why would I pay that for just one bowl? 2. Seating/ Atmosphere: This place looks like an old deli turned hookah lounge. Expect cheap chairs and old restaurant booth seating with worn, flat padding. Nothing even remotely comfortable here. The tables are pitted and nasty from what looks like years of dropped coals, the floors were the same way. Looked as if they hadn't mopped or swept in awhile! We washed our hands immediately after leaving. 3. Customer Service: None what so ever. We waited almost 15 minutes before being approached. After our hookah was served that was the last of our service. Once our bowl got hot there were no tongs to fix the coals nor was there anyone to ask to fix it. I witnessed the attendant shortly after our hookah was served fixing coals on another tables hookah, the attendant dropped the coals on the floor after ashing the bowl, picked them up and put them back on their hookah. Yuck. 4. Coals: They use the Japanese silver coals, not the best but they are ok. The problem here is that they are coated in a weird silver foil kind of paint that keeps them from breaking apart when the are being lit. You have to heat them until the paint flakes off or the coals taste horrible. You guessed it, the coals weren't heated thoroughly and tasted like ass. 5. Location: Looked as if this whole area was little India. The lounge is connected in a string of Indian/Arab stores and restaurants. Once we parked and got out of the car the most putrid smell overcame the area. Don't get me wrong, I love Indian food but this smell was nothing near that. It smelled as if a sewer had been backed up for months and then overflowed into the parking lot. My girlfriend almost refused to smoke at the lounge. I will never visit this lounge again. I strongly suggest others do not as well. I'm sure there are numerous better/cheaper/cleaner lounges in Denver to check out. read more

I came here with high hopes since this place has a pretty good reputation on yelp. Sadly, I was disappointed. While they had a good selection of hookah flavors to smoke, the service was terrible. We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. The guy asked what we wanted to drink and we were again waiting for another 5 minutes at least until another guy asked if we have been helped. Finally got our order in and the hookah came out to us pretty fast actually. Was surprised about that based on the level of service thus far. We enjoyed our hookah for a while but coals needed to be changed out and I was almost to the point of getting up to ask for new coals when I saw an employee coming around to change coals for people. This isn't exactly a bad thing but not a good thing either. On one hand, they aren't mind readers but on the other, you should be surveying your bar to see when coals are almost burned out. Overall, the hookah was good but the service leaves much to be desired. read more

Previously, Hookah Palace was my favorite hookah bar in the Denver Metro area, but unfortunately I haven't been back in two years. The clientele completely changed when the management did and the vibe hasn't been the same ever since. Hookah is good, but lacks in service and authenticity. It isn't what it used to be. read more

I came here from Austin,TX for a vacation trip, I smoke hookah daily, it's great for you vitamins on the fruity flavors and If you have a cold smoke the mint ;). This place has it down, the hookah is great, THE SERVICE is kick ass no joke, the staff are super friendly and the price is cheap $12.00 for a hookah!? Get outta here we pay $20 in Austin and it taste like coals. I came here 5-6 times and I will miss the people and hookah here! A+ for these guys read more

I used to go to House of Kabab when I was a teen and in my early twenties. I went back the other day during my visit back home and discovered that it is now divided between a restaurant *and* a hookah bar! Sat in the hookah area and purchased food next door and brought it over to eat at the same time. Decent service, though a little slow. All the staff, including the owner, were super friendly to my friend and I, which was a nice change of pace from some shisha places, which can be a bit standoffish at times. I had a watermelon tobacco in my hookah, which I can't always find every place I go. The food is also just as delicious as it was 20 years ago, and it was delightful having an authentic Persian Soltani for once! Seating was good and comfortable and not hardbacked chairs, which is always a nice touch in any hookah establishment. The music was on, but it wasn't so loud that it drowned out conversation. That was a huge selling point to me, as I came to relax in a more cafe-like environment rather than a club style one. read more

Hookah Palace - the interior of a restaurant - Hookah Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I have to say in my personal opinion I am greatly disappointed in this business .I have known the owner for many many years and greatly respect him. I am not going to be able to pay the amount of money that is expected for the hookah and the environment. It hurts deeply in my heart to leave this establishment on those terms. Such as life and maybe in the future it will return to what it was before the new management . God willing. read more

Hookah Palace: My favorite Denver Hookah bar hangout / lounge Right next door the House of Kabob, is a great place to enjoy a variety of Lebanese & Persian Cuisine. House of Kabob has been in business for 22 years, did the Rocky Mountain News and the Westword sponsor the winner of the Best of Citysearch, "Best of Denver Dining Guide." My personal favorites are to partake of the warmed pita bread with their signature hummus dip. What better way to enjoy authentic Persian food and perhaps smoke hookah tobacco through one of their imported full-size hookahs. It's a memorable experience! There is an assortment of hookah tobacco flavors to choose from. I stick with a few select choices of tobacco. I recommend the 'Passion Mojito' or 'Tangerine Dream.' Servers provide excellent, satisfactory service to prepare the hookahs with water filled, ready-assembled vial and keep refilling the charcoals on a as needed basis. Last visit here, I especially appreciated the prompt attentiveness of the server and free Wi-Fi access upon password request. The atmosphere in general is pleasantly draped with satiny, burgundy ceiling veils and ambient, mood lighting. Big screen TV is available and adequate seating / tables are provided. I honestly haven't had a single complaint when stopping by this hookah lounge and enjoy the mellow, relaxing time spent. There are even live belly dancers every Friday and Saturday from 7:30PM and 9:00PM. read more

Waited over 30 mins to get our hookah, while waiting we spotted a mouse. It ran from one couch to the next, we told the staff member that brought us the hookah, who didn't seem to be fazed about it at all ... All in turn, it wasn't that pleasant of an experience. read more

I was a regular there for a while, and it wasn't too bad at first. Then all the good employees left, they got new management, and everything went to crap! The service is terrible! The hookahs are way over priced, the flavor only last about 30 minutes. The upside is that the seats there are so uncomfortable that you won't want to sit there for more than 30 minutes. There's a giant hole in the ceiling, they have 2 useless speakers to play music on that have no treble. The owner gets hammered and hangs out there all the time, and then yells at his employees in front of the customers. So over all I would say you should avoid that place like the plague! read more

Good hookah spot, great atmosphere. They have a good selection of shisha and tend to the coals well. Only complaint would be they need a curtain or something in front of the door as people tend to leave it open and let the cold in. read more

This place was a relative mistake. After having to practically convince them to allow us into the smoking-friendly space of the restaurant, we were seated. We were among two other people there. Although the hookah was packed well, and it was maintained pretty frequently, our food arrived to us, well, half of our food order did, in styrofoam boxes. (it kind of screamed "we're ready for you to go already") the pita was nearly forgotten, and was served to us IN the plastic bag, quasi-warm. the hummus was forgotten about altogether. we were asked about our mid-grade meal once, and the "servers" didn't pay us any mind other than that visit and when we left. The space itself was decorated okay, it was a little bit chilly, and the staff was pretty inattentive. Wouldn't recommend this place. With so so so so so so so much competition in SUCH a near vicinity to this place, you would think they'd put in more effort. read more

Chill environment, friendly staff, great flavors to chose from, and great music. Love this place. Will definitely be back!!

Good place to hang out and smoke hookah. The parking is kind of tight but still found a spot. We went here because it says that they serve alcohol too but we asked and they don't do that. I ordered moroccan tea and i love it. They have men and women's restrooms. I thought it was gonna be full of people specially on a Saturday night, because of the pictures here on yelp, but when we arrived there's not a lot of people which i prefer. Overall, i like this place. read more

The only reason this place gets one star is because I have to put something in there. They used to be ok and I became a regular there. I got discounts on hookah because I spent so much money there. However, this place has become an appalling refuse pile that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemies. The hookah is overpriced for what tastes like you're smoking out of a garbage can. I would recommend this place to those of us who love the taste of formaldehyde. Or fecal matter. read more

This place is disgusting! The customer service was horrid, the guy was acting like we were an inconvenience to him. It took over 30 mins to get our Hookah and after a little bit, the hookah became harsh. The coals had burned most of the tobacco because he didn't bring it out to us right away. We saw a mouse in the establishment and when we told him about it, he acted like it was no big deal and didn't seem to be alarmed. For the price we paid you would expect better then what we got. I would advise to stay clear of this place. There are many more options, even next door. read more

One of the best hookah bars you will go too! You will be satisfied to the max! Good customer service and good vibe to be around! Hookahs are unbelievable and they also have fruit bowls! read more

I'm a regular here and the palace is a wonderful place for hookah. It just started under new management and the place is clean, well run, and friendly. It opens at 11 (much earlier than most hookah bars), and is attached to a very good middle eastern restaurant that serves a great shawarma. This place is one of the 2 best hookah bars in Denver (right up there with red poppy) and has a wonderful community feel during the day. I couldn't recommend Hookah Palace more highly. read more

This place used to be good before the management had changed. Since then there has been an extremely high turn over rate, terrible service and hookahs that don't carry flavor for very long. Upon walking in no one greets you and takes a while for you to be asked if you want to order a hookah. After a while of waiting you get your hookah only for it to be dead with no flavor after a short while. One of the hookahs I had ordered had only smoked for about 30mins because they don't pack their bowls with much shisha, this was to myself unacceptable especially because most hookahs should smoke for at least an hour to maybe three hours. Once you are smoking hookahs coals dont come around as often as they should and you have to ask for coals almost every time. The seating is uncomfortable on chairs that make your legs and butt fall asleep. There is a giant hole in the celing that sometimes drips and will drip on you on your way to the bathrooms. The bathrooms can run out of toilet paper and no one seems to notice till its been told to an employee. There are mice behind the registers because I had heard one employee freak out over seeing one run across the floor. Then when you go to pay it takes a bit of Time for someone to come to the register to help you out. The prices for regulars used to be around 10$ then they charged everyone including regulars who go from open to close full price. As a used to be regular I now go to Noah hookah bar which is around the corner from palace that serves excellent customer service, excellent seating, different forms of entertainment and regular hookahs only cost $10. read more

Was once a great place to go and hang out. But as management changed over things slowly went downhill. To start this off, people there are very unfriendly. No one greats you when you walk in and when they do its about the only time you will hear from them again. Then there is the fact that most people making the hookahs have no idea what they are doing. I got my hookah and it only smoked for about 15 minutes then there was no more flavor what so ever. Another thing I wanna complain about is that most the employees that are on the clock are high. You can smell the pot smoke coming from the back and it also effects their performance. They once brought out a hookah to me that had already been smoked and I couldn't get a new one for at least 30 min. Once I needed coals I had to wait at least another 30 min and by then it was already done. Hookah are way over priced and they expect to be tipped for just standing in back doing nothing. People always leave the door open and gets cold very often. The bathrooms have windows that don't close so in the winter it's like going to Antarctica. The thing that sent me away from the place the most though was on my way to the bathroom I saw a mouse run across the floor. The leaking ceilings all throughout the place doesn't bother most people but it is a hassle having to walk around buckets on the ground when it rains. The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I can't give zero. Save your time and money and venture somewhere else where the customer service is a must and you can enjoy your night read more
