Found a new dipping sauce I like which was the Szechuan flavor. Thai peanut is still my favorite but Szechuan dipping sauce won me over, I think it's a Feb special sauce. The hot and sour soup on the February special was a surprise, it was good but it was neither hot nor sour. I wish there was more spice and vinegar taste... but it had a good base. The smash burger was really good, great flavor and super tasty. We love the wings as always! The service was great and I was shocked we didn't have to wait on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. Glad to found Crooked Stave's Citrus Earl Gray, I loved it so much we ended up stopping by the brewery to get some cans to take home. I looooove this place (both locations!). My wife and I go back and forth between locations (Wash Park and Highlands) - I'm a fan of pretty much everything. The wings are always fresh, and just crispy enough. They have a bunch of wing flavors to choose from - some of my favorites are garlic parmesan, hot buffalo, Cajun dry rub, and raspberry habanero. I haven't had a bad flavor, so I honestly don't think you can go wrong. The fries are so yummy - a little on the thicker side. I love the mozzarella wheels - the Motz is always suuuuper cheesy and the marinara sauce that comes with has a little kick to it. Both locations are similar in style, the Wash Park location is a little bigger. Both have outdoor seating as well. Parking can be a little challenging depending on the day/time. This spot seemed super cool and I'm a huge fan of unique wing sauces, which made me all the more excited to visit. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive and the area the restaurant is in is pretty cute and seems like a good place for a date night. Parking is a bit of a gamble, especially if you're in the area during the dinner rush or any other busy time of the week; lots of street parking and I'd bet some lot parking for specific businesses (take that with a grain of salt, though, as I came in at night so visibility wasn't great). I met a friend of mine for dinner and we were sat in their little outdoor area. Given the time of year, the patio was heated and covered which was super comfortable! The inside of both the patio and the restaurant itself have really cool decor and there is a super laid back feel to the place in general. They have some pretty good selections for food and a happy hour special for those interested. I guess the sauces change semi frequently, which is cool. Lots of the flavors are unique. The staff was very friendly and we were taken care of very well. I ended up going with the nine-piece wings and tried their Thai peanut and habanero raspberry sauce - both were DELICIOUS. Unfortunately, this didn't quite hit the nail on the head. The best part of the meal were our fries, ordered plain with Cajun dry rub to add at home tossed to give them a fair shot. The wings themselves were very small, we ordered a 24 piece with 4 sauces total: flavor of the month (Texas-Thai dry rub), garlic Parmesan, medium buffalo and bourbon chipotle. The wings were swimming in sauce, the garlic Parmesan may as well have been an Alfredo pasta sauce. We needed up rebaking the wings in hopes to salvage the soggy skins but ultimately were disappointed. For the price point, it wasn't satisfying enough to make it worth it. The hostess in the front was kind and swift to take our order and to pass it off to us. I am so disappointed. This was my first time going to the Highlands location, and the wings were 1/3 of the size (at best). I had ordered online for take out, and maybe the back of the house thought they could just "phone in" the service. I had bought a side of sauce, and they poured that into the wings carton, versus actually using a side cup. They put their blue cheese and ranch in a side cup, so there's really no excuse for the insane mess they caused. The only saving grace is that the food flavor itself is still good. To be clear, I would give them 5 stars but I think their seating situation sucks and is confusing for first time people that stop in. We had never been to this location before except once and the place was empty and we just walked in, ordered and sat down. This time, the place was packed. We walked in, saw the sign that said order here and went to the left. We got up the counter to order and the cashier asked where we were sitting. We hadn't picked a spot to sit yet since we hadn't ordered yet. Apparently that is not how it works. When you walk in, you are supposed to go to the right and speak to a host about a seat, THEN get in line to order and then back to your seat. That being said, we ordered M80s (their version of jalapeño poppers) and we each got some wings and some local beers. They are a bit on the higher priced sides of wings compared to other wing joints, but I love how crispy and delicious they are. They have a great flavor. The M80s were crazy spicy. The consistency was pretty thin, not like some thick quesos I've had before (can you imagine the picture I'm painting lol). Then my bf and I each got an order of 9 wings, which is the smallest portion you can do while still getting to have 2 sauces. The Julio is a Grlled chicken breast, bacon, fried jalapeños, housemade queso, Lettuce, Tamato, Red onion, and a garlic aioli served on a Ciabatta roll. The sandwich was flavorful and tasted fresh. The bread was toasted and still soft and east to eat, which isn't always the case with Ciabatta. It came with fresh cut fries, and they were seasoned in the same house seasoning as the tots, and they were so good!! We also tried the vegan wings with the raspberry habanero sauce since we had never had a vegan wing before, and they weren't bad.
