First visit here, the location is interesting. The interior is very cool! As noted in several other reviews, the service was excellent! Also in several reviews it was mentioned how small the bone in wings are, so I had already decided to get the boneless wings. It was a perfect choice. I ordered the 5 piece, 2 El Jefe, 3 Kick Back. The El Jefe was HOT, just what I was looking for. The Kick Back sauce was also awesome! Loved them both. I ordered the onion rings as my side. I only wish there were twice as many, but they were super good. I will be visiting again, lots more to try! read more

got food to-go which was a simple and easy process; staff were very kind and accommodating. got a plate of chicken tenders and fries -- went with medium and the smoky chipotle sauces. The buffalo was GOOD, but the chipotle was disappointing. It was just very one note of spice - I would've preferred if you mixed it with a little honey or some kind of sweetness to help balance it out. The tenders themselves were very large and great quality for the price. The fries were good (a little soft from being in the to-go container, but I'm sure they're fantastic fresh), and the ranch was superb for dipping. Overall, I'd go back again, but I'd switch up my order. read more

Found a new dipping sauce I like which was the Szechuan flavor. Thai peanut is still my favorite but Szechuan dipping sauce won me over, I think it's a Feb special sauce. The hot and sour soup on the February special was a surprise, it was good but it was neither hot nor sour. I wish there was more spice and vinegar taste... but it had a good base. The smash burger was really good, great flavor and super tasty. We love the wings as always! The service was great and I was shocked we didn't have to wait on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. Glad to found Crooked Stave's Citrus Earl Gray, I loved it so much we ended up stopping by the brewery to get some cans to take home. Great wings, definitely much pricier from my last review but glad they have the consistency all these years. Clean restaurant and restrooms, definitely one of my favorite places for wings. read more

In town for my birthday weekend. Always looking for excellent places to find delicious (and well cooked) wings. FOTM came highly recommended (from all my AI searches). Claude was not wrong. Tried the cilantro lime, bourbon chipotle, raspberry habanero and the sauce of the month "the Kick Back". All sauces were excellent, better than I hoped for. 11/10, no notes. The blue cheese and ranch, also excellent. I will be back. read more

This spot seemed super cool and I'm a huge fan of unique wing sauces, which made me all the more excited to visit. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive and the area the restaurant is in is pretty cute and seems like a good place for a date night. Parking is a bit of a gamble, especially if you're in the area during the dinner rush or any other busy time of the week; lots of street parking and I'd bet some lot parking for specific businesses (take that with a grain of salt, though, as I came in at night so visibility wasn't great). I met a friend of mine for dinner and we were sat in their little outdoor area. Given the time of year, the patio was heated and covered which was super comfortable! The inside of both the patio and the restaurant itself have really cool decor and there is a super laid back feel to the place in general. They have some pretty good selections for food and a happy hour special for those interested. I guess the sauces change semi frequently, which is cool. Lots of the flavors are unique. The staff was very friendly and we were taken care of very well. I ended up going with the nine-piece wings and tried their Thai peanut and habanero raspberry sauce - both were DELICIOUS. My friend ordered a chicken salad and enjoyed hers as well. This would be a great spot to grab a bite with a few friends or on a date before hitting the town! I'm sure I'll be back to try their other items in no time. read more

I looooove this place (both locations!). My wife and I go back and forth between locations (Wash Park and Highlands) - I'm a fan of pretty much everything. The wings are always fresh, and just crispy enough. They have a bunch of wing flavors to choose from - some of my favorites are garlic parmesan, hot buffalo, Cajun dry rub, and raspberry habanero. I haven't had a bad flavor, so I honestly don't think you can go wrong. The fries are so yummy - a little on the thicker side. I love the mozzarella wheels - the Motz is always suuuuper cheesy and the marinara sauce that comes with has a little kick to it. Both locations are similar in style, the Wash Park location is a little bigger. Both have outdoor seating as well. Parking can be a little challenging depending on the day/time. If you're in the mood for wings - this is your spot! read more

First time trying this place and did not disappoint. Very nice staff, solid wings, burger, happy hour, etc. They do have a small lot but mainly street parking. Came in, looked at the happy hour menu and regular. Since it was my first time, I got to try a few of the sauces. Buffalo bleu and the blueberry habanero? Was my favorite. The blueberry was not super sweet or syrupy but great balance! Dry rub garlic lemon pepper was the other flavor and good too. Burger was a little dry but good burger sauce, toppings, and bun. Very clean, comfy, and good spot to watch a game read more

As a self-proclaimed wing fanatic, Fire On The Mountain helps set the bar for top tier wings. I have worked my way through every sauce and plan to do it again! I usually give their flavor of the month a try and have enjoyed it every time. From the hip decorations to the energy of regulars hanging out and working remotely, the atmosphere is always lively and fun. The service is always great as well. The price is a bit on the higher side, but their wings are so delicious they make the perfect "spoil yourself" meal. I have celebrated my birthday here many times! read more

Solid place to get some wings, boneless or otherwise! Location is cozy and welcoming. There's a bar area and a decent amount of seating. They have local artists' works on display and for sale which is neat. I think my only real qualm is that their mobile menu isn't the easiest to navigate since there's so much on the menu but that's more of QoL thing. Nothing too bad but for a first time visitor I found myself bouncing around a lot. It was busy, but service was friendly and consistent. Our table got fried pickles as an appetizer. Delicious and not too sour. First time I've had fried pickles that weren't super soggy or had the inside slide out of the fried breading on the outside. I got the: 1) Ari's Spicy Mango Margarita Mocktail: -This is their house made sour mix, mango puree, jalapenos, and a Tajin rim. -Refreshing, sweet with an added kick from the Tajin rim. Jalapenos added a pop of color and after drowning them there was a slight subtle burn to the drink. 2) 5 Piece Tender wings: -This comes with some celery sticks and I got some ranch as well. -For my 2 flavors, I got the: dry rub of the month, the Wendy Peppercorn and the sauce of the month, the Pearl of Carolina (made from their own spicy Carolina gold recipe). -The sauce flavor was tangy with some honey and garlicky notes to it. I got this medium hot and it wasn't spicy in the slightest, I'd ramp it up more and enjoy the burn. But it's not bad, it was my favorite of the 2 that I got. Decent mix of sweet and sour. -I was a bit disappointed in the peppercorn. It was just super peppery chicken tenders. I've always associated peppercorn with numbing spice, like Sichuan peppercorns, but I suppose this is a completely different kind. Overall pretty good, I just have to find the flavor for me. read more

The wings are made from 'clean chicken' if you will but they are really small. And I don't go for colossal sized wings whatsoever. The wings taste good and they were cooked properly. read more

I'm here to say that Fire on the Mountain lives up to the hype FOR SURE! While it's is pricey, the quality is great. My husband is a huge wing lover and these are, by far, his favorite wings ever. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered from Fire on the Mountain and feel like the sauces all have such a great, rich flavor to them. The service is great and the whole place has an awesome vibe to it as well. It's located in a really fun spot for a post-meal walk! read more

The food and vibes at both locations are unparalleled-the wing sauces are so rich and they have a crazy variety, like the Sichuan peppercorn, Ethiopian berebere, and booberry (Halloween) special, with the Jamaican jerk and spicy peanut being my favorite regulars. We really do come every few weeks just to try the monthly specials. The crunch wrap and fried Oreos are my favorite staples, and the wings are always a generous portion - get the fries to sop up extra sauce too. They're thicc! They have a lot of creative specials that aren't wings too like the pork belly banh mi, chimichurri steak tacos, a riblet sando, Vietnamese crepes- everything is executed flawlessly. A lot of places might overplay their hand with too much variety but everything put out by FOTM is an absolute banger. Lots of vegan options too and enormous salads-been coming here for most a decade and it's only gotten better! read more

Love, Love, Love!! Great location. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted as if we were friends with the hostess. Jane was our server and she was great! AMAZING wings! Honest review- We usually love to eat here and it's pretty good with quality of food, service and nice ambiance, however, this last time it just really tasted not great at all. I ordered wings and they were undercooked -slimy, not even warm and just gross.. super disappointing. I will have to say that service was really good as always. I was so excited to try this place, with raving reviews from clients and locals. It was a football Sunday, and we were craving some good wings. Unfortunately, this didn't quite hit the nail on the head. The best part of the meal were our fries, ordered plain with Cajun dry rub to add at home tossed to give them a fair shot. The wings themselves were very small, we ordered a 24 piece with 4 sauces total: flavor of the month (Texas-Thai dry rub), garlic Parmesan, medium buffalo and bourbon chipotle. The wings were swimming in sauce, the garlic Parmesan may as well have been an Alfredo pasta sauce. We needed up rebaking the wings in hopes to salvage the soggy skins but ultimately were disappointed. For the price point, it wasn't satisfying enough to make it worth it. The hostess in the front was kind and swift to take our order and to pass it off to us. The spot in would be nice to sit in with multiple seating areas, but I don't foresee our return to watch any games this season. read more

Worst wings in the Denver metro area. You're better off just hitting up wing stop. The service was so bad I think every single employee just wanted to get fired and collect unemployment. Don't bother with these sub-par wings. read more

Great vibe and awesome wings. They have a lot of options for sauces and most gluten-free. I saw they have vegan "wing" too. I didn't try them, but thought it was worth a mention. Don't get me wrong, this place has really good wings! But the experience wasn't amazing unfortunately. I think they might've been short staffed, I wasn't sure. It just took a really long time to get the food and we had a dog and they wouldn't let us sit in the outdoor area that was enclosed in plastic. They said it wasn't their rules but just seemed a bit off at the time. We all got different flavor wings and they were delicious! We also tried their hottest wing and it is nothing to mess around with! Extremely spicy but definitely flavorful if you wanna mess around and burn your lips off for 30 minutes lol. read more

Our server was very nice and friendly. He was knowledgeable about all the food items and even gave us recommendations on what to do in Denver. We ordered bone in wings and boneless wings, and would definitely recommend the garlic Parmesan bone in wings. They are rather small in size, but cooked perfectly crispy. The boneless have too much fried batter and oil in my opinion. The French fries are very flavorful too! They are cut fresh everyday and have a good ratio of fried to potato. read more

Easily the best wings in colorado, the flavor is incredible. The sweet potato waffle fries are also to die for.

To be clear, I would give them 5 stars but I think their seating situation sucks and is confusing for first time people that stop in. We had never been to this location before except once and the place was empty and we just walked in, ordered and sat down. This time, the place was packed. We walked in, saw the sign that said order here and went to the left. We got up the counter to order and the cashier asked where we were sitting. We hadn't picked a spot to sit yet since we hadn't ordered yet. Apparently that is not how it works. When you walk in, you are supposed to go to the right and speak to a host about a seat, THEN get in line to order and then back to your seat. We were not aware of that and no one said anything to us when we walked in the door and went left. That being said, we ordered M80s (their version of jalapeño poppers) and we each got some wings and some local beers. They are a bit on the higher priced sides of wings compared to other wing joints, but I love how crispy and delicious they are. They have a great flavor. The M80s were crazy spicy. Tasted good, but man they burned my mouth. Once I got to the end I saw they leave all of the seeds in so that explains it. read more

I am so disappointed. This was my first time going to the Highlands location, and the wings were 1/3 of the size (at best). I had ordered online for take out, and maybe the back of the house thought they could just "phone in" the service. I had bought a side of sauce, and they poured that into the wings carton, versus actually using a side cup. They put their blue cheese and ranch in a side cup, so there's really no excuse for the insane mess they caused. The only saving grace is that the food flavor itself is still good. I don't think I'll go out of my way to visit this location. Do better. Edit: I received the best response from this restaurant. They had included more wings due to the size, and I appreciate the support. Thank you! read more

Grew up right down the street and was craving it when I was visiting. Their seating situation is interesting, not a fan of the canopy attachment seating since it's on a slope. They still have a fun, hippie vibe inside which I enjoy. Got onion rings and kind of thought it was a rip off (only for 6 for $7) but loved the sauce that came with them. The bone in wings were small but cooked well. I got raspberry habanero sauce and it was as yummy as I remember. I wish they still had the sauce bar to try them but understandable after covid. I got a cocktail which was yummy too. It was a blueberry lemonade drink and a bit disappointed they used frozen blueberries (was expecting fresh) They have a good happy hour and good daily deals, just check their website! Service was great but the food took 50 minutes due to a medical emergency. I am not taking points off for that but it was a part of my experience. Inside was nothing special just a typical restaurant/bar environment. I was not impressed with the food though. I got a 5 piece boneless basket and they were basically the same thing as frozen chicken tenders with their sauce/dry rub on it. The sauces/rubs were good but I won't come back here. Fries were pretty good but I was just severely underwhelmed it felt like a chicken restaurant couldn't even do tenders right. Also we are years removed from the pandemic why are you still charging a 3% staff benefits fee. Fire On The Mountain definitely has some fantastic wings - the food is genuinely great and hits the spot every time. Seriously, the flavors are on point. However, the customer service and wait times are a huge downside. Expect to wait a solid 1-2 hours just to get a table, and then another hour for your food to actually arrive. It really takes away from the experience, no matter how good the wings are read more

First time visitor! Kept hearing good things since moving to Denver and finally had the chance to go. The appetizer sampler was a hit and the fried onion rings might have been the best I've ever had. Got 24 wings with 4 different sauces to include their monthly special sauce. The lime cilantro was very flavorful and surprisingly spicier than the hot buffalo. The garlic parm was also very good. The wings are slightly smaller than your typical chain joint, which I believe is a result of them being farm raised, but still very god. Restaurant has a cute location nestled in the Highlands neighborhood with outdoor patio seating and extra tent space during the summer. read more

I've been to a few fire on the mountain locations, and this one might be my favorite. Something about this location is much cozier and comfortable to dine in. Our server is also one of the sweetest! Very patient and knowledgeable. We had the appetizer sampler (which I would warn can be dangerous cuz it will fill you up fast if you're sharing with just one other person!). But it was really tasty and is perfect for you to eat one of everything. My favorite are the fried pickles! The wings themselves were tasty just as expected. Thanks to the filling appetizer I have lots of wings to eat as leftovers read more

My coworkers have told me how amazing the wings at FOTM are so me and my boyfriend (a wings aficionado) had to check them out. Right off the bat I loved the vibe of the restaurant and that they hold themselves to a higher standard of sustainability than most restaurants do. They compost & recycle and have avoided sending about 75% of their waste to landfills this way. LOVE. We started off with drinks, a Bloody Mary (non spicy) and the hibiscus cooler drink. We both loved them. Our friend got the queso for the table and it was super tasty! The consistency was pretty thin, not like some thick quesos I've had before (can you imagine the picture I'm painting lol). Then my bf and I each got an order of 9 wings, which is the smallest portion you can do while still getting to have 2 sauces. Between us both we tried: Cilantro lime- amazing definitely my favorite Bourbon chipotle- I thought this would be sweeter but it was SPICY Mild Buffalo- you just can't go wrong here & the sauce of the month which was like a citrusy flavor. Loved this one! The ranch was also delicious. In regards to service, we were waiting on friends for awhile and our waitress was so great checking in on us before they came and then after/throughout the meal! The only thing that I think could have improved the experience was a better understanding of the spice level of each flavor! read more
