They have such a great variety of dishes to choose from, with plenty of meat and vegetarian options, so there's truly something for everyone. And if you like spice, this is definitely your place. You can choose from different levels of heat for each dish, which I loved. The mango lassi was SO good, and the service was just as wonderful as the food. I was asking about their iced chai after seeing someone else enjoying one, and they were kind enough to bring me a complimentary one to try, such a thoughtful touch. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and constantly checking in to make sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. They have two locations, this one is their smaller spot, but it still feels warm, welcoming, and spacious enough to enjoy with a group. Both locations have such a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. I also noticed a constant stream of takeout orders being picked up while we were there, which tells me I'm definitely not the only one who thinks this place is amazing. The Thali caught my eye as it's essentially a traditional platter with a variety of balanced small plates from rice to potatoes to dal soup and even dessert all on a single tray. I got it with Butter Chicken which was so good! Highly recommend as it was creamy, medium spicy, and very aromatic. I absolutely loved the street-style chaat! It's creamy, crunchy, cold, and loaded with flavors and textures. Such a satisfying bite and I almost couldn't stop until it was gone. I love that this Thali came with both rice & naan as I usually want both and can't decide lol! The rice was fluffy and aromatic from the cumin while the garlic naan was fresh, soft, and delicately brushed with garlic & parsley. I didn't care for the dal soup (bit too watery) or the jeera potatoes (bit undercooked) but the dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Their options included rice pudding and gulab jamun; I went with the "healthier" option lol. It was creamy, sweet, and cooled down my palate after the various dishes. The Lamb Biryani was another good try! The lamb chunks were tender and seasoned, the rice was aromatic, and it paired well with the onions and raita (yogurt sauce). I cannot believe it took as long as it did to get here. To be fair we did try a couple times and the parking was so packed we couldn't find a spot. All pointing to an excellent experience. The timing was right for my husband and I to come for a Sunday lunch. The service was fast and friendly. We started with potato sliders that were really good but not as good as our main courses. My husband opted for the lamb tiki masala and I opted for the eggplant (Baingan Bharta) Thali meal. The dal soup and spiced potatoes that came in the Thali were incredible. My favorite part was the chai though. I cannot drink milk and the alternative was oat milk. This was one of the best chais I have had in my life. So so good. read more

Regulars are chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, kadai, cheesy garlic naan, chai tea, samosa chaat, garlic spicy cauliflower and others. All so good Full bar. Cozy interior that is always loud and full of people. It's clean and restrooms are ok. Patio is ok when we have the dog but not a Juliet of their experience. Limited seating inside and reservations are recommended for peak times and weekends. It's 4pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was over half full and a dozen people have come and gone for take out. Food was fresh and full flavored. We got one Butter Chicken and one Lamb Madrass, both came with rice. We got medium spice and it wasn't overbearing or too spicy at all. We also got the Garlic Cheese Naan which was sooo soft! The Mango Lassi was also really good, not too sour. Service was quick, didn't wait for a table on a Friday night. They have so many options of curries to choose from! Each curry comes with an order of rice. We ordered garlic and cheese naan which tastes so fresh and soft. The rice is a bit plain but goes well with the heavier curries like the Madrass. Curries are packed with flavor and is the perfect take-out meal. So, I came here a couple times in the past. It didn't really stand out in my memory (no negative ass associations, but no burning desire to come here again). However, I have been going to the Arvada location quite a bit the last year or so. And since this location is conveniently located just two long blocks away from the Federal Theater, I decided I needed to try it again. It is really good. It is the exact same menu as the Arvada location. The service is very good. Prices are a bit steep, but that is par for the course these days. The food is really well-made, I have not had anything here that I did not think was well prepared. Probably my biggest problem is trying to decide between ordering one of my old favorites or trying something new. Sometimes you get rewarded with something amazing and other times you realize "oh yes, those aren't quite the flavors I was looking for". But, I can definitely recommend this location and we'll be eating here again. Uber convenient to grab dinner here before going to a concert or other show at the Federal Theater. read more

We have asked twice for the ice, and then we got glass full of ice. It was hard to use it. And we saw the rest of the table got iced water with lime in it. I'm not happy with this cold service. The chicken Shahenshah is our favorite dish and we always get that with naan and we've started getting the french fries because french fries and curry is just an unbeatable combination. I'm a big fan of their Chana saag and the sag paneer also very good. In fact I've never had a bad meal there. Lately we order all of our spice room online and pick it up and eat it at home and I've been really impressed by their commitment to using sustainable packaging. Wonderful! We had been to another one of their Spice Rooms in Arvada and it was perfection. I thought I'd show the family this other location, and it was just as delicious! We are now huge fans. We used to love Yak and Yeti, but the quality went down and so we've been on a hunt for a new Indian/Nepalese. This is it. The hunt is over. We love this place, the service, the quality, the ambiance. I'm willing to bet that even though they have several locations, the quality is top notch each time. They do take a bit longer to cook, so would recommend ordering them early. We tried some unique dishes, the mango chicken curry and the honey curry. Medium spice packs a punch, in a good way. The honey curry was very sweet, more like an Indian version of a sweet and sour chicken, with fried pieces dripping with honey. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it'd be good for someone who wants something more suited for an Americanized palate. The mango curry was delicious! We ordered garlic naan and were disappointed that it was one small piece of it. However, it was very tasty and soft! Overall, Spice Room is a great spot for Indian food and I'd like to dine in so I can try a bunch of the authentic Indian street food appetizers! I was really looking forward to trying a new Indian spot in the area, but I was massively let down by this location. Let's start with the good: The service was great. I was sat down upon entering even though it was a busy Thursday evening. There were multiple workers who checked in on us from time to time and we appreciated their attentiveness. The papadum cracker was perfectly crispy and I loved the flavors of all 4 sauces that it came with, especially the yogurt sauce with onions. I was expecting to be wowed by the food after eating the papadum, but it was all just meh. There was definite lack of spice and flavor within my vegetable korma. And perhaps I could have ordered up from mild to intensify the flavor, but my usual mild veggie korma at Himchuli is always flavorful. The korma only tasted of creamy coconut, and the vegetables were a little mushy. I did appreciate the variety of vegetables. My friend's chicken tikka masala was also described as just being okay and lackluster. Then the cheese and garlic naan came to the table and I thought it looked a little greasy but was hopeful for a punch of flavor to save the day. The cheese was there, but it only vaguely tasted as if the naan had once met the essence of garlic.
