There were 5 of us dining on a Friday night. We had ordered take out from Spice Kitchen before, so we knew the food was delicious but this was our first time dinning in. It's a large restaurant and there were only a few tables full when we walked in. When we left another couple was seated and a few people at the bar watching the soccer matches. Therefore, we were seated right away when we arrived. A woman was our waitress but you could tell she was either helping out or part of the family she wasn't as attentive as a waitress should be. However, it was either the manager or owner was on top of everything - one step ahead on everything. We didn't need to ask for more rice or to-go boxes (yes the portions are healthy expect two meals out of), he was there with them. We ordered the tandoori chicken wing appetizer and it was superb. The chicken was extremely tender, melting off the bone, and the flavor was bold but not spicy at all. I ordered what I typically do at any Indian restaurant, chicken saag. I asked for it dairy free. - made with coconut milk. They were able to accommodate. Everyone else got lamb Marsala, garlic nana, soup and dumplings. We were provided one pot of rice and they refilled it as they saw us eating through it. We were all enjoying our food so much that I forgot to take photos. We would definitely go back and dine in again. This is the type of restaurant we need in the area. Go get some amazing Indian food at Spice Kitchen, you will be thankful you did. read more

The refreshed space is inviting, comfortable, & airy. Service was quick, helpful, & friendly. The food was everything we had hoped for & more - we kept ordering more to continue enjoying how flavorful everything was! They aced the butter chicken recipe & I highly recommend pairing this with the garlic naan. You thought you had a good Indian restaurant before... think again! This one stole our hearts & stomachs. I've been waiting for this spot to open for months and finally checked it out for lunch yesterday. The pakora was good, tasty and not too fried. The chicken korma and saag paneer were also great--definitely could have used more spice but we weren't sure what spice level to order given every Indian restaurant has such different standards for spice in Denver. The inside of the restaurant is really cute, open and airy. Service was OK, definitely a little slow given we were one of only two tables in the restaurant. There were some strange smells coming from the bathroom area while we were eating--i think because they were cleaning in there? Definitely suggest keeping the bathroom doors closed while guests are present in the future. Otherwise, a solid spot and will likely be returning for takeout. read more

Such a great experience here! Food was amazing, the atmosphere was so nice, and service was fantastic. The chef even came out and asked each table how the food was. This is a large but welcoming space. Besides tables they have huge comfy booths that easily hold 6, and the decor while not busy has some tasteful large floral looking arrangements. The food! Everything we had was the best or second best we had had anywhere. The waitstaff was attentive but not intrusive. All in all a real 5 star performance. read more

The food was outstanding, equal to our longtime favorite spot. Love the crispy samosas and the chili chicken apps. The lamb saag was dreamy and the chicken korma nutty and delicious. The rice was perfect and the naan was tender and lovely. The room is beautiful and spacious, with enough distance between tables that we could enjoy our Valentine's dinner in comfort and intimacy. The falldown was the service. We know the restaurant has only been open for a couple of months, but they haven't gained their sea-legs yet. Not much went right, from timing the course presentation to clearing dishes to getting our check divided correctly (it never happened). We had a nice lunch here. This venue has changed so much over the years with many different owners and cuisines. Th decor used to be gorgeous when it was Three Sons, but it's literally just a shell now. It's got so many exposed vents, pipes, electric conductors, damaged plaster and brick that it just looks run down. There are several booths and plenty of table seating. The service was pretty good. The menu is large and offers a lot. The prices are high for what you get. Perhaps the will set up a buffet at some point to improve the price point vs value issue. Our food was good but seemed too mild despite ordering medium spice levels. We would try this restaurant again if they add lunch specials or a buffet. read more

I didn't start liking Indian food until later in life and this place is as good as it gets. Every bite was delicious (we ordered a good assortment of stuff), the service was great, they even changed the TV so I could watch the DU game. Prices are better than the comparable joint in our neighborhood (which is subpar). I can't wait to eat my leftovers. New Year's Eve at a new restaurant in Sunnyside, what were we thinking? We were regulars at the Sunnyside Supper club that used to occupy this space and we have looked forward to trying out its successor, the Spice Kitchen so not having plans for NYE, we seized the moment. The restaurant has a roomy, welcoming ambiance and the staff was accommodating, friendly and efficient. None of us are into spicy foods so our entries were served mild but the lamb saag, chicken korma and lamb korma were delicious, served in ample portions (we brought home what we could not finish) and aromatic. We shared a vegetable samosa as an appetizer which was also delicious and a healthy portion easily shared by the three of us. There is a nice selection of wines both by the bottle and by the glass and a very tempting beer menu as well. The cherry and nut naan and the cheese naan, soft and delicious, smelled almost as good as they tasted. We were too full to see the dessert options but our evening was filling, enjoyable and satisfying. I miss the Supper Club but the Spice Kitchen is an excellent successor and a welcome addition to the culinary options in Sunnyside. I look forward to exploring the rest of its ample and tempting menu. read more

My neighbor and I were looking forward to this spot since the prior sunnyside supper closed, we are always looking for a neighborhood spot to hang out on a regular basis. THIS IS NOT THE SPOT. We went in at 620pm on a Friday and we were barely greeted to be then sat at the bar. The place was fairly packed yet service did not seem to be flowing. During the 45 mins we were there we had yet to receive our appetizer's let alone were even spoken to. We counted 2 people running the dining room and only one server coming from the kitchen. We decided to leave at 50 mins in after no apology and no indication our 'appitizer' was even close to coming out. We left and went to another restaurant in the area, I don't give this place 12 months! read more

We've been three times now. Great addition to Sunnyside! As someone who's gotten Indian food all over the country, this food is top notch. They have just opened so lighting, the bar and part of the interior is still being filled in. They have brand new servers who are learning.
