I think I finally accepted that this former Gunther Toody's was Spice Room about halfway into our meal. They've really done it up nice especially a trippy mirror in the women's bathroom, it's worth a trip! I ordered my standard chicken tikka masala with a little spice and the little spice was SPICY but oh so good! Garlic naan was fantastic as well and portions were enough for two meals. I love a good Indian meal but this was GREAT! The air conditioning blows kind of hard but maybe it was just the area where we were sitting. They don't mess with their spice levels either. Getting medium on my tikka masala was spicier than normal but still so good. Our waitress brought over a side of yogurt to calm things down. The yogurt itself just elevated all the flavors. Service and food were great. Anyone going here can tell this used to be a Gunther Toodies restaurant. Much of the furniture is still there from the yesteryears. We liked it. The menu is truly extensive. We got shrimp tandoori and shared a dosa with our family. We had a side of the masala sauce. I found the food to be a step down from our favorite Indian spot, which is Unique Indian on S. Colorado Blvd, but no denying it was good. I had a strange feeling that I've been here before, and it turns out that was accurate. As Tiffany N. mentions, this was the former Gunther Toody's. It's a very large space with a huge parking lot. Wow!!! Everything was delicious! I met up a friend and we were both craving Indian food so I suggested the Spice Room. We both have never been. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. But we still got sat right away. Our server was attentive. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and i can't remember what my friend ordered. We also got garlic cheese naan. The flavors were there the naan was so delicious, that I could eat it with every meal. I will definitely be back. It was so good. We have now been here twice and have been thoroughly pleased both times. The service was incredible-our server was working so hard and they were quite busy both times we went. The menu is a little overwhelming, with lots of options, but I like reading the little notes about the dishes! The food is soo delicious! I tried the vegetable korma, mild and my husband had the chicken tikka masala, mild. On our second time there, I just had to get the veg korma again and we shared that and a sweet potato tikka masala. Chef's kiss, scrumptious!! Truly blown away by our dinner this week- we have ordered takeout a few times and always liked the food but haven't had a chance to eat in and finally decided to last week. It's large space and used to be a 50s diner, they have done such a cute job making it uniquely their own AND they saved the booths which I loved. We got there at 5:30 on a Thursday and it was filling up, by the time we left most seats were taken so next time I might call ahead just to be safe. I didn't expect the crowd but so glad to see it. The food was AMAZING - the menu is extensive so they have all of your favorites and then some. Our waitress was very helpful in sharing ideas on what to order so we got a few classics and a few new dishes and really loved it all. Saag Paneer, Jalfrezi with chicken and a few others from the "house specialty entrees". We stopped in before going to see a play at Arvada Center, based on the wonderful yelp reviews. It was a little hard to find because the Address lead us to a small strip center when the restaurant actually sat as a standalone building behind the strip center, and facing the road. The inside is quite lovely And the people and staff are friendly and helpful. I was so taken by the decor, I had to stop and take pictures of everything as we went to our table. Second time eating here and it was still amazing!! It's honestly the best Indian we have had in the entire Denver metro area! Just go. Have all of the things. I have gotten takeout here several times but haven't eaten inside yet. The restaurant looks fine inside, props to the decorator! So far I have had my go-to orders for Indian takeout places, namely Tandoori chicken, goat vindaloo, and malai kofta. The malai kofta had a tiny amount of raisins and some spices that I don't find in the same dish at other restaurants, so it was not what I expected but I could get used to it. They have a tandoori wings appetizer, which is not typical, but not rare, either. It is quite good and I have ordered it twice now. The samosas are acceptable but not the best I've had. The spicy levels are very low compared to elsewhere. I ultimately got the 5/5 for a couple entrees and they were about as hot as a 3/5 elsewhere. I think next time I should ask if they can give me a side of the sauce or spice blend that would make the food hotter. I don't particularly enjoy the front desk experience; I feel like the people greeting me have been uncomfortably brusque. This is not a deal breaker because I only have to exchange 7 words with them, but I feel like they are unhappy to see customers who are walking in. read more

I typically get chicken tiki masala when I'm at an Indian restaurant, but this time I decided to mix it up. We had the Chicken Shahenshah. On Wednesday, April 29 my friend and I met to have dinner at 530pm. This was my first time at your restaurant. The food was very enjoyable and thr chai I had was amazing. At 640pm we were approached by someone who wasn't our waiter and were told we needed to leave as there was a reservation coming in. No one was waiting - in fact there were a few empty tables. We were there 70 minutes. I was so disappointed. Is this common? It would be one thing if we were told prior to sitting down, but we had just paid our bill and I had not yet drank my chai. Holy YUM!!! My grown daughter asked to eat here for her birthday. So I just met her. What a delightful surprise both and the atmosphere AND the magnificent food! It seems like Spice Room (in Arvada) prides themselves on their vegetarian offerings with quite a bit also classified as vegan. When I order Masala Chai the server made sure that I knew that it has dairy. I'm not a veggie but I very much enjoy Indian veg dishes! And I am a huge fan of southern Indian food which is hard to find in NW Denver. Wowza! The dosa and also the idli are screamingly fantastic! Just had dinner here for the first time it was very good. Our Niru server was so pleasant and nice. I'm the type of guy that likes to try food that most Americans don't. when you walk in and the menu is so extensive it's really hard to pick stuff especially when you have no idea what 90% of it is everybody orders the same stuff the butter chicken and of course my wife had to because she loves it and it was really really good. This new location is very popular, and rightfully so. On both of my recent visits, the place was packed. The parking lot is large, but it was still pretty much completely filled. Service is solid. The food is outstanding. All of my traditional favorites, are quite good here. They do an exceptional job with their Momo. I see myself returning here quite a bit in the future. read more
