The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered a mix of grilled meats, rice, salads, and appetizers, and everything came out hot and perfectly seasoned. The grilled kebabs were juicy and well-charred with great spice balance, and the lamb chops were especially tender and rich in flavor. The hummus was smooth and creamy with high-quality olive oil and spices on top -- easily one of the better versions I've had. The kibbeh was crisp on the outside and soft and savory inside, and the fresh salad added a great, bright contrast to the heavier dishes. The house sauces really elevated everything. It was busy and low staffed ( day after Valentine's day rush) but the two waiters were obviously working very hard. My partner has not stopped talking about how amazing his lamb chops were and it's the next day! Will be coming back

Now operated under a new name and ownership!! The young lady who welcomed us said this change happened about three weeks or so ago. The inside looks the same and yet it looks fancier than the previous one. The menu is very similar and yet I am not complaining about it at all as Zaytoon's food offerings were really good and the quality was wonderful. This time, I dined in (with a friend of mine.) At 1pm, there was nobody inside when I stepped in but after my friend had arrived, several different groups of people came in and went. It appeared though that it was a slow Friday lunch for them. After perusing the menu, I landed on the lunch menu; its offerings looked good so I ordered Chicken Shish Kabob with a bed of Turkish rice with a side garlic sauce. My friend ordered the beef version with the same rice and for the sauce, she got the Turkish salsa type sauce. She asked us we wanted pita bread to which we both said no. As far as I can remember the both plates are at $14.99 (this is as of July 11, 2025.) Good portion as well. Oh, I got for us the potato sambusa (per the young lady the chef said these sambusas are made gluten free so my friend could eat them.) The quality of all the dishes we had? Solid like the Zaytoon time. I especially enjoyed the Turkish rice which I had never had it until yesterday. Rice had a similar texture to couscous. This rice tastes lighter than the other types of rice so it doesn't sit heavy on your stomach. So in conclusion, clean dining room, welcome staff but most of all, quality food are what impressed me about this new restaurant. They made a nice transition to be a better place. I hope to utilize them more often than I used to.

This spot was sooooo good! We decided to order the mega combo that had a mix of different meats with bulgur rice as a side. All the meats were cooked perfectly and the rice had so much flavor. My favorite dip was definitely the garlic one and it paired well with all the meats. We also got a salad and it was perfect to cut through the heaviness from the meat. It's a large restaurant with plenty of space and it wasn't busy around 11:30am on a Saturday. The service was great and he was very informative. 10/10 would come back.

Great spot for Mediterranean! The pita was perfect for the delicious sandwiches- we had a gyro and the chicken Shawarma and small fries! The dill sauce is the best and the small Turkish tea was a nice addition to the meal.

Ordered pickup. Got there at pickup time but they hadn't started, so I had to wait another 20 minutes. Lamb kebab might actually be the toughest meat I've had in my life. Even when I cut with the grain, it felt like cutting into a motel mattress. Only giving 2 stars because it did have good flavor, but that disappeared pretty quickly since I had to chew for so long.

Chicken Shawarma, Chicken Kofta kabob, Baba Ghanoush (App), Hummus (Side)

I had to write another excellent review for Zaytoon! I met a friend for dinner there last night, and tried another new dish. Of course, I had to start with the baba ghanoush for appetizer, because that is the very best! Had chicken Shawarma this time and it was so flavorful and tender and moist. Had a side dish of hummus and bulgar underneath. So delicious! We keep coming back and try new dishes, but of course always starting with the baba ghanoush!

A cute little Mediterranean restaurant with an Afghan flare. The customer service was good as well as the food. I tried the "Mantu" a dish that is made in Afghanistan. It was Fantastic! Be warned though it takes 40 min to prepare but it is with the wait!

Very nice lunch with my daughter! She wanted something healthy and close to the house. We both love Mediterranean, so off we went to Zaytoon. This is the former location of Crave, and idk what happened to them. I liked them. The interior is pretty much the same. Very spare and simple, but with fun lighting fixtures. Service was excellent. Efficient and very polite. My daughter wanted to try grape leaves. I didn't think that she would like them, but stayed quiet. We encouraged both kids to have adventurous palates. They weren't her favorite, but the filling wasn't bad. She had the gyro wrap, and I had the chicken shawarma. Both were DELICIOUS!! They were wrapped in a very, very thin flatbread that could possibly be mistaken for paper. It was unusual to me. But a very nice change from giant flour burrito wraps. I liked it. We also got a giant order of fries to share. They were CRINKLE FRIES!! And so yummy!!! Perfectly cooked. I ate way too many. Yum! Took half the sandwich home. Very generous size. We really liked this place. Will return, maybe even get my next plane sandwich here.

How this place has a decent rating is beyond me. Hands down the worst Gyro I've ever had. The pita immediately crumbled, is super dry and the whole thing is just bad. I wondered how it was going to taste when the hot sauce that came with the order was an assortment of packets from Taco Bell, del taco, and some Asian restaurant. What a bunch of cheapskates. This was a delivery order, but I watched it get picked up and delivered to our house 5 minutes later, so it's not like it sat for a while and that was the issue. Trust me, it's awful. Both me and my wife threw the food away after a couple bites. I NEVER throw food away, it was literally that bad.

Best Middle Eastern food I've ever had! The chicken shawarma was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, while the lamb kabob was juicy and cooked to perfection. The rice was absolutely incredible--fluffy, fragrant, and full of flavor. Every bite was a delight. I can't wait to come back!

Chicken Kabob skewer This was fabulous! A great restaurant! Great Atmosphere and wonderful staff!

Outstanding food and service! Lived in the Middle East. This is the best Mediterranean I've had since being back home.

Situated in this run-down strip mall that is desperately needing some upgrades, the restaurant…read morequietly exists with so much humility. Despite its image, however, the reviews left by previous customers are solid. This convinced me to try them on one Saturday evening. Its inside is very simple with interior like an old Middle Eastern diner feel. They could utilize more decorations to indicate the kind of cuisine (Afghanistan) they represent/boast and yet, that may not be their focus. Most of all, what's important is the "heart", the food to say it precisely. A few tables were occupied by eat-in diners which I noticed upon entry. I wasted no time by proceeding to the front where they take orders. A young man there greeted me. I told him I was in for a to-go order. I thus adding said to him that I would need a minute to decide. As I took the time to study the menu I noticed that the prices of the dishes were quite reasonable. And yet it was hard to gauge the portions of them. I shall see when I get my food though. By the time I had been back to the register after solidifying as to what I would want, a different young man was upfront. He was also polite and welcoming but not to the over-the-top way. His "generic" type of gesture was good enough. I told him what I wanted 14. Lamb Tikka Kabob ($13.99 as of early April of 2026). He said it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. It was quite right on time when my food came out of the kitchen. Once I had the chance, I started my dinner. Let me quickly summarize the food here: -Portion: Quite good. If mere $13.99 buys this size of food, I would go for it often. -Food quality: Whereas I wouldn't describe it as "excellent" or "exquisite", the plate was filled with good flavors. Everything from the meat to the rice to the salad to the hummus, the quality was solid. The naan bread, however, was quite small and thin (thought they could be a bit more generous.) Is this a typical Afghani style bread? Not sure. I am not versed in the Afghani cuisine (as I've already hinted a bit.) Whether or not I am speaking about the authenticity of the very culinary traditions/styles correctly, this might be as the closest Afghani eatery gem as you can find in this part of town. I don't know how long this restaurant has been around but my assumption is that it's not overexposed to the public eye just yet. Despite the fact that it's located on this busy intersection of Quebec and Evans/Iliff, King of Shawarma & Kabob is indeed a humble business. And yes, I will return to it when I think of reasonably priced solid Middle Eastern food next time.

I have never tried their food, wow ! I was missing out, the food here is amazing, Been there 3…read moretimes this week , and going again today for lunch
