We finally decided to try what is advertised as the only sit-down Turkish restaurant in Denver, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment--we left hungry. There were three of us. We ordered a koobideh sandwich with fries, an Adana kebab plate with baba ghanoush, and a salad. My husband asked if we could have a traditional Turkish shepherd's (çoban) salad, but instead we received a few slices of tomato and cucumber served alongside a single skewer of beef. To make matters worse, the koobideh and Adana turned out to be the exact same kebab. When we asked, the server confirmed they were essentially the same item with different names. The baba ghanoush was served by itself with nothing to eat it with. When we requested bread, we were given a microwaved pita and charged an additional $3. Our total bill was $39, which might sound reasonable, but the value simply wasn't there. The server repeatedly mentioned how understaffed they were, there was no traditional Turkish salad on the menu, and dips were served without bread unless you paid extra. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations. There are much better places in Denver to spend your money. read more

The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered a mix of grilled meats, rice, salads, and appetizers, and everything came out hot and perfectly seasoned. The grilled kebabs were juicy and well-charred with great spice balance, and the lamb chops were especially tender and rich in flavor. The hummus was smooth and creamy with high-quality olive oil and spices on top -- easily one of the better versions I've had. The kibbeh was crisp on the outside and soft and savory inside, and the fresh salad added a great, bright contrast to the heavier dishes. The house sauces really elevated everything. It was busy and low staffed ( day after Valentine's day rush) but the two waiters were obviously working very hard. Now operated under a new name and ownership!! The young lady who welcomed us said this change happened about three weeks or so ago. The inside looks the same and yet it looks fancier than the previous one. The menu is very similar and yet I am not complaining about it at all as Zaytoon's food offerings were really good and the quality was wonderful. This time, I dined in (with a friend of mine.) At 1pm, there was nobody inside when I stepped in but after my friend had arrived, several different groups of people came in and went. It appeared though that it was a slow Friday lunch for them. After perusing the menu, I landed on the lunch menu; its offerings looked good so I ordered Chicken Shish Kabob with a bed of Turkish rice with a side garlic sauce. My friend ordered the beef version with the same rice and for the sauce, she got the Turkish salsa type sauce. She asked us we wanted pita bread to which we both said no. As far as I can remember the both plates are at $14.99 (this is as of July 11, 2025.) Good portion as well. Oh, I got for us the potato sambusa (per the young lady the chef said these sambusas are made gluten free so my friend could eat them.) The quality of all the dishes we had? Solid like the Zaytoon time. I especially enjoyed the Turkish rice which I had never had it until yesterday. Rice had a similar texture to couscous. This rice tastes lighter than the other types of rice so it doesn't sit heavy on your stomach. So in conclusion, clean dining room, welcome staff but most of all, quality food are what impressed me about this new restaurant. They made a nice transition to be a better place. This spot was sooooo good! We decided to order the mega combo that had a mix of different meats with bulgur rice as a side. All the meats were cooked perfectly and the rice had so much flavor. My favorite dip was definitely the garlic one and it paired well with all the meats. We also got a salad and it was perfect to cut through the heaviness from the meat. It's a large restaurant with plenty of space and it wasn't busy around 11:30am on a Saturday. The service was great and he was very informative. 10/10 would come back. read more

Ordered pickup. Got there at pickup time but they hadn't started, so I had to wait another 20 minutes. Lamb kebab might actually be the toughest meat I've had in my life. Even when I cut with the grain, it felt like cutting into a motel mattress. Stopped in for lunch today and disappointed with the experience. There was no one at the front desk to seat us so we grabbed a seat on the patio and had to clear the old plates off so we could sit. The food was not very good either. My Gyro lunch plate had dried and tough beef (no traditional lamb) some salad with a super sweet (could not eat it) dressing and some bland humus. The pita was extra. My wife had a kabob and bulger wheat. This was also pretty bland and she could not eat the bulger wheat at all. I don't think we will be back. Very nice lunch with my daughter! She wanted something healthy and close to the house. We both love Mediterranean, so off we went to Zaytoon. This is the former location of Crave, and idk what happened to them. I liked them. The interior is pretty much the same. Very spare and simple, but with fun lighting fixtures. Service was excellent. Efficient and very polite. My daughter wanted to try grape leaves. I didn't think that she would like them, but stayed quiet. We encouraged both kids to have adventurous palates. They weren't her favorite, but the filling wasn't bad. She had the gyro wrap, and I had the chicken shawarma. Both were DELICIOUS!! They were wrapped in a very, very thin flatbread that could possibly be mistaken for paper. It was unusual to me. But a very nice change from giant flour burrito wraps. I liked it. We also got a giant order of fries to share. They were CRINKLE FRIES!! And so yummy!!! Perfectly cooked. I ate way too many. Yum! Took half the sandwich home. Very generous size. How this place has a decent rating is beyond me. Hands down the worst Gyro I've ever had. The pita immediately crumbled, is super dry and the whole thing is just bad. I wondered how it was going to taste when the hot sauce that came with the order was an assortment of packets from Taco Bell, del taco, and some Asian restaurant. What a bunch of cheapskates. This was a delivery order, but I watched it get picked up and delivered to our house 5 minutes later, so it's not like it sat for a while and that was the issue. Trust me, it's awful. This was a terrible restaurant. To clarify, I have been here a few times before and it's not mind blowing Afghan food, but it's okay. Today, however, was the first day of their new ownership. There was one female server taking care of the entire restaurant and I'm assuming no more than 2 cooks, if that, in the back. We were a party of 6 (typically how many people when I eat out with family). Had we known the food would take 1+ hrs to come out post ordering, we would've skipped. The food eventually came out stone cold. My Dad mentioned this to the server who offered to microwave his--and anyone else's who had cold food (all of us). I passed because 1.) that is just comical. We're paying an upward of $20 per meal. and 2.) I had salad on my plate and didn't want that to be warm. I also want to add that tables all over were dirty and had food on it because there was 1 server serving 5 tables. The tables were also way too close together. The server noticed that we were having a pretty miserable time so she took 25% off our bill. She was incredibly sweet and tried her best. It's not her fault management sucks. Will never go here again lol. Also their "beef shawarma" and "greek gyro" are the same thing. read more

The food here is great. The issue I have with the place is their operations/internal communication and their apathetic attitude towards customers. We've ordered from here several times and have encountered similar issues the past two times: they don't have someone monitoring their online orders. I've had family members arrive twice in the past few weeks to discover that nobody took orders that came in on their online ordering tablets and passed them along to the kitchen. The first time a few weeks ago, we saw a look of panic on the young man at the host stand's face when we came to pick our order up. There was some yelling and confusion in the kitchen, and we were told that what we had ordered had also been ordered by another table, so they'd give us our order and we'd be ready in "5 minutes." Instead, it took closer to 20 minutes of waiting. There was no proactive apology nor offer to make up for the inconvenience. You'd think that they'd improve their operations to make sure this didn't happen again. However, the same thing happened again a few days ago when my family ordered from the restaurant again. While my family member waited for his food, he heard at least one other customer come in to discover they hadn't started their order either. They left after telling the restaurant to cancel the order. So, while I'd love to support a local restaurant that makes good food, I'd suggest calling after you place your order to ensure your food is actually prepared. read more
