Had been wanting to try a new gyros spot and this one didn't disappoint at all. Super simple and easy order process. I have a bad or good habit depending on who you are of looking at the menu well before I arrive knowing what I will order without hesitation and last night was calling for some chicken shawarma platter. The greens salad was super refreshing and whatever vinaigrette that had on it hit the spot. Now...the main event, the chicken shwarm itself was delicious and plentiful. The rice under neither was cooked well and had a fluffy nature to it. The chicken was also well cooked and tasted phenomenal with the sauce on top. And the pita was warm and inviting with each bite. Ambiance was quant and not too busy, maybe half the restaurant. The take-out orders were flowing as well which is always a good sign of some good food. The staff was nice and quick with the food to come out. Would recommend checking this place out and I'll definitely be back to try the gyro sandwich. read more

Always a fan when one purchased meals extends over to two meals and that was my experience at Gyros and Kabobs! I got the chicken shawarma platter to go. I've passed by this location for years and had it bookmarked for awhile so time to finally give it a go. I stopped by for lunch and took the food to go. It was good.....not mind blowing or anything but tasty. The platter came with enough chicken for two meals, plenty of rice, salad and a little piece of bread with a portion of spicy green sauce on the side. A hole in a wall along South Parker road, Gyros and Kabob isnt a showy spot but it offers great food at reasonable prices. You won't get much from customer service but you'll expect consistent food day in day out. Not going to lie but my favorite thing on their menu is their fried chicken. It is juicy, well seasoned and boy that chicken skin! Other than Korean fried chicken that lines Havana Street, this is my other go to spot if I wanted any sort of fried chicken. My second favorite item on their menu is just like the restaurant name suggests are their gyros. Specifically the Greek gyro which is well packed with meats and veggies. Finally made it in to Gyros & Kabobs. Small interior with booths and tables. Could use an update, but it does the job. Friendly staff, but they were quite loud behind the counter talking/fighting and such. The chicken gyro was ready immediately, but the chicken kabob plate took about 30 minutes. Quite long for the few people that ordered ahead of us. Worth the wait? Yes. The chicken was tender with a little bit of spice and incredibly flavorful. The rice and salad were good. The pita bread could have been better, it was too hard. Baklava was a little hard, but had a great flavor. All in all, it's worth the trip, just account for extra time if you're in a time crunch. read more

I will say the food is what keeps me coming back, not the service. I ordered dinner yesterday to pick up on my way home and for the 3rd time in a row now they have no record of my order. I showed them on my phone the confirmed order and they seemed confused and annoyed. After going back and forth on what I ordered (and was already charged to me) they had me wait about 15 ish minutes while they prepared my food. This is why I select a time to pick it up, so I don't have to wait. They got my order together and I double checked it, just in case, and it was correct. They actually threw in an extra piece of fried chicken. Everything tasted delicious and of course had some leftovers because their portions are pretty large. I just wish they would work on their online system since it apparently doesn't seem to work right. read more

Smelled great. Not empty. Friendly service. We just got some gyros sandwich's cause that should be the best way to just a gyro spot. I have to say it was basic. Not a lot of meat, not thick juicy thick slices that I'm used to or prefer. The lettuce tomato onions were very fresh on the sandwich. The taziki sauce really didn't taste delicious and authentic and was more of a seasoned mayo. This pita was freshly grilled panini style and was just okay, nothing special. I was disappointed by this. But I will say the prices were affordable and every was fresh. it's decent it you want a basic gyro and don't have picky standards that I do since Greek and Mediterranean food are in my top three food genres. My son did love his gyro though. Also the establishment was clean. As were the condiments and napkin holders. Very tasty Gyros, chicken shawarma and other foods. The shawarma plate was a box full of cubed shawarma with a delicious sauce over spiced rice with a salad and side of spicy green salsa. After driving by and wondering how this place was finally ordered food from them last night. It is take out only right now. They are enforcing social distancing and requiring everyone wear masks. The only item I didn't like was the mango lassi. It was very watery and not like those at most Indian restaurants. Perhaps it is different for middle eastern countries. read more

I love this place. First the food is delicious, second the owner is such a blessed and beautiful human. He is always so kind no matter what is happening or how busy he gets. He goes out of his way not to cheat customers on quality and always gives a bit extra if he feels like anything is lacking. Recently, they've updated the restaurant and now the ambiance is so nice. Omg! The shawarma chicken platter was the house favorite. The flavoring is almost like a mix between buffalo sauce and a delicious cream. The rice was cooked perfectly and all the sides were delicious. We also tried the chicken kabob platter which was delicious as well just did not have any sauces on the chicken. Lastly, the service was fast, the food arrived warm and the restaurant did not include utensils... which is always a PLUS! (Save the planet!). Will certainly order again very soon. read more

It was hard to figure out what was on the menu as it is displayed haphazardly on 3-4 monitors. The printed out menu is truncated and doesn't include all of the offerings. It was too much work to figure it out so I just ordered a simple chicken gyro. The gyro was refreshing with crisp vegetables but one of the sauces they put on it was sweet, which I wasn't expecting. As a preference, I'd rather it be more of a savory sauce, which tzatziki is. I bet it is the special sauce that added the sweet element. I really enjoyed that the store bought pita bread was pressed. Wow the gyros here are probably some of the best I've had in my life! Ordered the chicken gyro and Greek gyro. Both very very tasty and full of flavor!! I want more already, can't get enough. Gyro meat and chicken cooked with love, obviously marinated, was tender and perfectly cooked. The bread was soft and their special sauces are truly special, I'm so impressed. The Greek gyro is messy to eat so you might want to sit down for it. If you know your gyros, then you'll be happy to find out that the gyros from Gyros & Kabobs can be compared to the gyros you'd eat in London or Los Angeles. My favorite place in the city! This place deserves more reviews and recognition for the fantastic food and staff. I love that this is a small and modest place, run by a friendly and kind family. My friend and I wanted to try this place after craving some Mediterranean food. We came on a Sunday morning and the place was half full. We ordered right away. What we got: - Chicken Shawarma Plate: Probably the best shawarma I've had! The chicken was decadent and the spices gave the chicken a slight lemony taste. It paired perfectly with the cooked turmeric rice. The plate also comes with green hot sauce, which was great and not too spicy. There was also a side of salad for a palate cleanser. For this time around, I opt for the Lamb Kabobs ($9.99) platter which comes with rice, salad and half of pita bread which they cut into quarters. My friend opt for Philly Cheese Steak ($5.99), while her kids opt for Cheese Burger COMBO with fries ($7.99). The Lamb Kabobs are tender, though I cannot deny this time around it was a little too charred. Both the rice and the salad are decent. Everyone is satisfied with their Lunch and it was indeed filing. I decided to try this place today and was very impressed with the Chicken Falafel and fries. It had tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage and a sauce. I also had them add a little Hummus to it.
