I went early to The Halal Guys because the last few times I tried to go the place was packed. I got the combo platter w gyro beef and chicken. I added jalapeños, black olives, and onions. I also got white sauce which I'm not 100% sure what it was and also got a plate of fries and a coke. The good: the French fries were hot and weren't sitting around. Not sure what it's like any other time , but pretty much fried to order. The other thing I would say that was good was the coke. The bad: the chicken and beef was dry. I read this on a few other comments, but I was hoping since I went early enough in the day this wouldn't be an issue. Not sure how early they prepared the protein , but I would have thought at 1115AM this wouldn't have been an issue. The service was really good and friendly. Went there for lunch. Quick and simple menu. Either pita or platter. I wish they had kabobs but I ordered the beef gyro pita and my friend ordered the falafel platter. My gyro pita was ordinary but my friend let me try her falafel and I really liked it. It was different and had a little tangy flavor to it. We also ordered the hibiscus lemonade which was tasty. Instead they gave me double spicy chicken which is obviously cheaper. Could have been a mistake. Could have been a ploy to save money and screw the customer. Either way, I was VERY disappointed after checking the receipt and seeing I had ordered correctly. Check your food before you leave. I should have taken an image. Went to Halal guys with my picky teenagers. They are normally chicken tender and fries kids but they were willing to try Halal guys. Service was great, they answered questions about the dishes and we got the popular beef platter. I like spicy so they recommended the red sauce and warned me it was quite spicy. Listen, I'm Asian so spicy is like Thai chili peppers. But they were not wrong this red sauce is spicy but the good kind where I want to add more! The white sauce I thought would be too much but it paired so well with the favored beef and spicy sauce. Pita was great to help the spicy heat lol! I really liked the yellow rice too (good texture and flavor) It was quite a large portion and we had leftovers to take home. So I've had OG Halal Guys in NYC before and it's absolutely delicious. This isn't the exact same as what you get from the NYC cart, but it's decent. The Good: I love the platters because the rice is absolutely amazing. I can't get enough of it. The white sauce is also addictive and just necessary to appreciate Halal Guys, and I highly recommend the hot sauce but BE FOREWARNED that it is SERIOUSLY hot. Came here for opening weekend and the food was great! Got a combo platter with falafel and gyros. It had a good amount of veggies and meat. Everything tasted great and the pita was so soft and warm. I was out with my co-workers when they suggested Halal Guys, this place wasn't on my radar but I was outvoted. When we arrived, there were a fair number of customers in line (somewhat expected because it was lunchtime). I didn't mind, this gave me somewhat enough time to yelp for suggestions. The line moved along smoothly, and I ended up ordering the Beef Gyro Platter. I was pleasantly surprised, the Beef Gyro Platter was really tasty, and their white sauce really tied the gyro meat and pita bread together nicely. I've been to The Halal guys in Phoenix, Seattle, vegas, Orange County and the original ones in Manhattan. I usually order lunch / dinner for myself and bring a bowl home as leftovers. How exciting to see a Halal Guys location in Denver! We came to the Aurora location a couple of times before, but Denver is more convenient coming from the North side of town. Parking was a breeze and we were lucky that there wasn't a long line when we arrived during dinner hour. Service was quick and friendly. I usually prefer chicken, but at Halal Guys, I love the beef. It's so flavorful and easy to chew. I got the beef platter and fries. The platter was generously loaded. Love the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, they balanced perfectly with the meat and rice. And all slathered in the white sauce. Mmmmm. The fries were fried in fresh oil, not like some places where you can taste/smell that they are using old oil. The restaurant was clean and comfortable.
