Sweetgreen's biggest problem is high expectations: just about everyone has heard of it from the coasts before giving it a try here. My first reaction was, "It's good, but why all the hype?" Especially here, since fast casual salad isn't new: there's already a dozen of a different "Greens" chain in the Denver metro. I've been twice, and both salads I've tried have been delicious, filling, prepared well, and with high quality ingredients. You can make it work with just about any dietary restriction or choices. I love Sweetgreen so I was so excited when they opened this location! The Pearl Street location certainly lives up to the brand hype- it's cute, clean & the employees are friendly. I've been 4 times since they opened in December and every experience has been positive. My all time favorite bowl is the Harvest Bowl, but I also recommend checking out their seasonal options which focus on using fresh and seasonal ingredients. My favorite seasonal bowls include the Chicken & Brussels in the fall and the Miso Bowl in the winter. Their online ordering & pick up options are also great - super easy and convenient! I typically order through the app. My only suggestion is that I wish the pick up shelf was closer to the door (or maybe used one of their side doors instead?) as I've seen at other sweetgreen locations. Right now you have to walk through most of the store to grab your food, which isn't ideal with covid. But it still does feel really safe compared to many other local options. read more

Stopped by for their preview event tonight and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious and the staff were super friendly and explained the different ingredients and meats. If you like salads, this is the place for you. If you don't, I really see no reason why you'd come here. They do salads, and I think they do them well. Lots of fresh, healthy, tasty options to make whatever big loaded salad your little heart could desire! I got the buffalo chicken salad and modified it a bunch, and it was very good and filling (though I wish they could be a bit more generous with their protein portions since you're paying quite a lot.) The bread that came with it was also nice and hearty. I do question their classification of "premium" versus "non-premium" toppings, like why would pickled carrots/celery or brussel sprouts be a premium topping, when the others aren't? I just don't get it. But my salad was good. I would like to try other items, including their bowls, but it is pretty pricy (and they don't take cash, which I'm not sure is even allowed????)
