falafel kinda dry. so evidently Christopher doesn't work here anymore... for those of you that are unaware, Christopher opened the 29th street Cava branch. basically he walked so all of olive you could run. HE'S LITERALLY GUY CAVA's SON. So yeah, you can imagine how jarring it was to hear that they gave him the Cava V (glorimiddle finger). I mean Chris put the crazy in crazy feta and the piss in the braised lamb. Safe to say this place probably sucks now, good pita doe.

Literally no food in this bowl.

We ordered ahead of time. I go into the place at the time it's supposed to be ready and I have to wait a couple minutes before they even start my order. They were waiting for the online orders to show up before they started making them. Completely DEFEATING the purpose of online ordering. Next I go home and no avocado on my bowl which is extra. I call to ask about how to get it refunded and no apology. Lastly there is barely anything in my bowl. It's a light snack at this point. When u usually order cava, the bowl is pretty full. Well I will provide pics of this bullshit of 14$ meal

I was in Boulder and wanted something to munch on and thought an order of falafel for the road would be good. I called cava and asked how much an order of falafel was going to be and they said $3.99 for four. Well, that doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. I was only a few minutes away, so I stopped by. I probably should've known because the falafel's were all piled up in a bar like service area. I ordered the side of falafel with some tzatziki, and when I went to pay, it was $7.89. I said when I called I was told an order of four was $3.99. The lady said did you order tzatziki and I said yes. I said how much is the tzatziki which was about a tablespoon and a little cup, and she said $3.99. Never mind, you can buy a whole tub of Taziki for $4.00. Because I was hungry, I bought the falafel's anyway, and by far, the most disgusting "Greek"thing I've ever eaten. The so-called falafel was not crunchy in the least bit, absolutely flavorless, and tasted like refried beans, mixed with miniature, garbanzo beans, and no herbs whatsoever. Gross! Save your money and go to an authentic Greek place. This is fast food garbage, and yet another example of corporate America taking advantage of those on the go.

    The outdoors.

Fast service, and the food was delicious. Came on a Saturday afternoon and the line was pretty long and the line went nice and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean bathrooms too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Cava Catastrophe! My Cava experience went from bad to unbelievably frustrating. First, the staff seemed totally lost. Then, disaster struck! The girl serving me actually dropped my bowl while piling on ingredients. While she was filling my bowl she was in such a rush and haphazardly remade the bowl, leaving my bowl barely half full. So basically, I got punished for their mistake with a skimpy portion. For the price Cava charges, you'd expect at least a full bowl and staff who know what they're doing. Save yourself the aggravation and skip this Cava. There are plenty of other Mediterranean places that won't treat you like an afterthought. :///

    Very tasty!

Our fave Mediterranean sit down restaurant is in Denver so we were hoping this would become our local go to. Located conveniently just off of 28th street we easily found parking. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We were delighted by all the pastries (various baklava and more), grab and go breads and dips, grocery offerings as well as the huge menu for food. I went for a chicken plate while my partner went for a gyro plate. Our meals were cooked expertly and ready within minutes & we ate right in the market. Our plates were so inviting with fresh salad, feta, tzatziki, olives and fresh warm soft bread. Everything tasted so great we didn't even take a picture. We also indulged in a couple pistachio baklava pastries - yum. Recommending to all our friends and can't wait to go back.

Even the gyro was pretty decent flavor wise, just a touch on the small side for the money IMO. Biggest issue and why I have to rate it low is biting right into a toothpick and thought I chipped my tooth...Not sure if quality control or what but shouldn't happen and quite the disappoint. I was already too far to go back.

However, there were people sitting on their outside patio. Hardy folks, I guess! My friend was nursing a sore tummy, so she just had some grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. She loves everything she's had here. It was my first time. I ordered the chicken bowl with yakisoba noodles. It was lukewarm, but that's fine for me. I think they must have microwaved it because it was steamier as you ate down the bowl. The veggies were crisp, the noodles perfect, the chicken was tender. It was spiced at what I'd call a medium level, and quite yummy. My friend then ordered their vegan chocolate pudding, which we shared. Yummy and light. My one big criticism is that they charge $4 for iced tea. I questioned it and the cashier was kind of snippy about it, but the customer behind me approached after I dispensed my tea and said she agreed it's too expensive. The meal was appropriately priced and there is plenty of food, but the drinks? C'mon. It's worth maybe $2.50. They really should reevaluate that. It's the main reason that I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5. The other people who work there were nice and helpful. I didn't grab a fork but the server who brought my bowl cheerfully went and got me a fork and napkin. Very nice. It's obviously popular, it filled up as we sat, with quite a variety of people, from babies to seniors. I might go back, but perhaps next time I'll just get water. I hope they don't charge for that!

I've been here many times in a variety of ways--sat at the bar, at tables with friends and by myself, both inside and outside, and even experienced the large farm table prix fixe menu, which was fantastic. My experiences have consistently been great--the food, service, and atmosphere have always been top-notch. Tonight, however, was my first disappointing visit. I ordered the root vegetable bruschetta, which was very good. I also ordered the butternut squash penne pasta, a dish I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it was extremely spicy. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if it was just a heavy hand in the kitchen, but it was not something I could eat. I mentioned it to the waiter, who didn't have an answer, so I simply asked for a to-go container. Since I couldn't eat it, I later gave the container to a homeless woman sitting nearby with her grocery cart. On my way out, I spoke with someone at the door who brought over the manager. The manager asked if he could see the dish, so I opened the container for him. He then asked if he could taste it and reached in, picked up a noodle, and tried it, saying he didn't notice anything unusual. He also wasn't aware of any changes to the recipe. I suggested that if the dish is now spicy, it might be helpful to note that on the menu so guests know what to expect. What left me disappointed wasn't just the dish itself, but how the situation was handled. There wasn't an offer to replace the meal or provide an alternative, which would have gone a long way. As someone who is only about six months into living in Colorado and a new business owner in the area, I often refer places I believe in. Tonight left me questioning whether I will continue to recommend Leaf based on how this was handled, though I'm hopeful that by tomorrow morning I may feel differently. That said, based on my many past positive experiences, I still believe Leaf is a great restaurant. I just hope this was an off night and that a little more attention is given to both consistency in the kitchen and how concerns are handled moving forward.

We'd already had dinner at home and stopped in for a drink and dessert. I mentioned this to the server, and from that point on the experience went downhill. I ordered a Happy Hour Cabernet Sauvignon, which was clearly about half the size of a regular glass. My husband ordered a ginger beer, but it tasted like sparkling water with syrup settled at the bottom, which he didn't notice until the end of the glass. My son's dessert was also priced $2 higher than what was listed on the menu. The service overall was incredibly lackluster. It was a disappointing experience at what has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Boulder.
