Authentic Irish pub owned by the same guy who owned the Burren and McCarthy's. I came here on St. Patrick's Day weekend and the place was buzzing. They had a bespoke menu for the season, and the place was packed. Nonetheless, they had a lot of support staff working the service was great.
I was craving a sheppards pie for lunch. I knew exactly what I wanted, visualizing in my head the portion, and quality of ingredients I knew I had a high standard that I didn't expect to be met. What I received was the most beautiful portion of pie I could've wished for. A heap of well prepared mashed potatoes sat in the most flavorful mince with gravy. Not only did the portion size strangle my hunger, but the depth of flavor transfixed my taste buds. I've already ordered it 4 times since.
What a fun bar. In a city with tons of pubs, The Bebop is a great option! I feel like their main draw is the entertainment - seems like there's always something going on there. The service and vibes were on par for what you'd expect at a standard pub. I didn't have anything to eat, but their drinks seemed pretty solid. Fun spot!
The service was good for a standard bar and the food was just OK. Came here for a country music night and there wasn't much space, so we were near the stage and the music was very loud. Students come to play music overall it wasn't a bad post-work spot.
They play music all week! Love the vibes! Great drinks! The place is crowded during the weekends.
We stopped in here after the Boston Red Sox game to grab and beer and was not disappointed! The music is what attracted us to go in and it was a cute, quaint place that ended up having fantastic food. We weren't originally planning on eating unit we saw what everyone else was ordering and couldn't pass it up. We got the fish and chips which was perfectly crispy. I saw some others that got the chicken and Shepard's pie and everything looked great!
Was looking for a quick lunch meal. Saw in Yelp good reviews for this place. The call chowder and the Shepherd's pie were both terrific. Nice and quiet and quick service.
This is one of those challenging reviews. This place should be epic with its pub vibe and amazing music. It just falls short with a generous 4 rating. The music and atmosphere were the highlight and a strong 5. For pub fare, the food was a strong 4. The service is the biggest challenge at 2.5. The bar is simply understaffed and table service is limited. In the category of fool me twice, we had ordered a Guinness and a Jamison and we were given some Jack, honey or terrible alternative. For an Irish bar, that is just table stakes to be able to provide a beautiful Jamison's rather than some rot gut. But, after waiting 10 minutes to get the beer at the bar and then return to our table you don't have patience to check one of the staff consistently barrel through the space bumping me while other patrons didn't do the same. I just made it odd. He did apologize in the end. It was very good pub fair including an appetizer plate was just really well done. Nice plate of healthy nachos. Topped with chicken. For dinner the pesto chicken sandwich was really tasty, the steak tips were quality and reasonably priced value for Boston while the Caesar salad was fresh and good pub fair. The broccoli cheddar soup was good. The flatbread was what you would expect to get for pub fare. Overall, the food was solid. It has an Irish pub vibe. Great location, craic. You walk in, and the band is to your left. There were 4-5 people on a small stage with other people subbing in. Great eclectic music. On another visit, there's a traditional Irish, three person band. Really the highlight of this experience.
Went to The Bebop on a random Thursday afternoon. Turns out that it was open mic night. There were maybe 3 or 4 people in the bar and one person, not untalented, playing guitar very loudly. I guess I can't complain but I could barely get my drink order in because of the noise. Laid-back, divey vibe with a kind of light Irish theme. A small second story with seating. Drink price very reasonable @ $9/mixed drink. I'd go back again, but maybe not on open mic night. I like to be able to hear myself think.
This was my first time at the Bebop and I had no idea what to expect. One thing I did anticipate is that parking would be challenging (after all this spot is located in the heart of Back Back). Once we found a place to park, we walked a short distance to attend the Thursday night open mic and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is "Irish pub meets Berklee student hangout meets Townies" and it was all love when it came to the patrons. We heard some incredible performances, ate amazing food, and the female bartender was very attentive despite being so busy. The highlights of the evening were listening to Cornbread the Artist perform his catchy song, "Purple Dandelions" and eating the best pub food I've had in a long time. I HIGHLY recommend the fried calamari (it was cooked to perfection...tender and lightly breaded...served with banana peppers) and bbq wings which were also prepared really well. I have so many reasons to go back and I want to bring my friends! Why not five stars? The male bartender on duty was rude and had bad vibes...costing The Bebop that extra star.
Really cute bar near Berkeley. Stopped by quickly before a show nearby. They have a stage for livr music and wlrrally cute decorations for Christmas. Service was very quick and staff were very nice, will definitely go again
The food and drinks are quite good! I would like to go back and try their brunch foods to see how they compare. Service can be hit or miss. If you're sitting upstairs you may see your server less often than downstairs. The ambiance is your typical little pub. Very tight knit and cozy. I will note that when I went it was comedy/open mic night and the performers were REALLY hit or miss. I would suggest going during regular hours or during a different event.
A good pub experience at the Bebop! We were visiting from out of town (first time in Boston) and this was near our hotel. They had live music at the front of the pub, and so we chose to go towards the back (upstairs). We got to enjoy the music while also being able to have a conversation (music was good but loud!). We grabbed a few beers (I tried a few of the local IPAs-- very good!) and some apps. For food, we got the sampler and some buffalo cauliflower. The sampler plate was delicious and would definitely recommend getting this with the curry sauce! The curry was the standout for sure. The cauliflower was good but I wish it had been roasted longer for a crispier finish. Overall good food and good service!

We were in town for Pearl Jam at Fenway, and The Bebop was right around the corner from our hotel (Citizen M). We stopped for a mid afternoon drink on Tuesday and the staff was so friendly, we stopped later the same day for dinner pre-concert. They had student musicians (Berklee school of music is across the street) playing both times we were there which was an added bonus. One girl's cover of Sarah Bareilles "Gravity" was sensational! We had the Guinness stew, clam chowder and steak tips for dinner and everything was delicious (and reasonably priced). Despite being busy with the show at Fenway, the food came out pretty quickly and the staff was on top of refilling drinks. The manager (Nori?) was awesome. Overall highly recommend, especially if in the Fenway area! read more

Great service, menu and location! Surprisingly good veg choices. Can't wait to come back for drinks. Loved the fries in curry sauce. read more
Came here to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday from brunch. Really like that it has a nice Irish pub flair to it with live music. A lot of different musicians from the nearby Berkeley School to outside performers for entertainment. Of this particular Sunday, they had bluegrass. Wasn't what I wanted since I preferred jazz but that was on a Saturday. The food was really good from brunch. Generous portions and nice friendly laid-back service. I will definitely come here again I really enjoyed my Irish breakfast which gives you three types of me at sausage ham and some other thing that was a blood sausage...real good. The price was reasonable and I think you get your bang for your buck. Totally would come here again. Ideal for nearby students and residents. read more

I've been wanting to come to this place for forever and when I finally did, I was very disappointed with my food. Our server was very nice but didn't come over to check on us once we were given our drinks. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower and it was very much not what I was expecting. It wasn't your typical buffalo cauliflower dish. The sauce was very light and just barely tinted the cauliflower orange. It was very bland and I ended up only having a few bites. For $11, it is definitely not worth it. Thankfully, the server kindly took it off of our bill but it's still disappointing to leave a restaurant hungry. Besides the food, the inside of the restaurant had a lot of character and a nice atmosphere. read more

Great little neighborhood music bar even on a Monday night the place was hopping with Musicians and music students from Berklee school . they serve food lots of beers and have a partial liquor license . The place is run by two Irish sisters who are super friendly and generally the place oozes with a very friendly vibe. Check it out. I hear on weekends the place is bonkers read more

What a great experience for my first trip to Boston. The staff was so welcoming, patient, and friendly. The food was delicious. And the live jazz music was so fun. We have told our friends that live there and going to visit that this is a must. read more

Great vibes with live music, but pretty average food. We walked in on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy. The best part of the place is the musicians that play in the front! The music made it a fun, lively place. As for the food, we ordered a variety of appetizers, beers, and entrees. I ordered the shepherds pie which was pretty solid but not anything I would return for. The appetizer platter was also fairly standard and came with fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, buffalo wings, calamari. I enjoyed the variety but thought the quality was pretty average. read more

We came across the Beebop while we were visiting family in Boston. We were staying in the city and had just arrived and we're looking for a place to get a mid afternoon lunch. I believe my brother found this place via Google search and it had good reviews. So him, my mom and myself walked over to the restaurant. It was well after the afternoon lunchtime, so the place was not packed. Based on the signage it looks like this is a place that often has live music and during peak hours likely has a good Irish vibe. However, the slow pace when we went was just what we were looking for after traveling. We were able to get a seat immediately. The service was average and my Diet Coke was beyond flat, but the food was great! Everyone loved what they ordered! I had the fish and chips with a salad and coleslaw! Yum! My mom and brother got shepherds pie. We would definitely come back! read more
For some reason, I really, really liked this place. The food isn't Michelin star level or super trendy, but I think it's a great neighborhood spot. The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and there's live music. I probably wouldn't get the waffles again since they didn't seem to be homemade (cool whip and dry texture). The nachos weren't super gourmet but had plenty of cheese (coating each chip) with all the necessary toppings. The wings were bomb though--they had everything I love in wings: super crispy, tangy, with a decent heat. Can't wait to go again! read more

Good vibes all around. All the tables were reserved but luckily we got some seats in the back for trivia (which was fun and very beginner friendly!) They were setting up for live music when we left after trivia, and I'd definitely check out some of the other events they have during the week! read more
Not to be confused with Cyndi Lauper's SheBop, this is basically a Boston Pub. Lovely Irish tavern located in Boston with a fun exciting atmosphere and some pretty good drinks but not cheap. That's why I don't give five stars - and I don't come here for the food and neither should you. Like most Irish pubs in America it's just not very good. But for the drinks and atmosphere I give it a solid four stars and it's great to see a good Irish Pub in a real Irish town. read more

This place on a Friday is saucey. I went on a limb walking back from Fenway and was serenaded all night in the smooth finger licking of some gruesome jazz that slayed it all night. Sapped on a vodka water in the breazy 80 degree evening out on the sidewalk and enjoyed pure bliss. read more

Date night on our fist night in Boston and this place hit the spot. I was looking for somewhat authentic Irish Pub and food and this place hit the spot. Fist off, I have to say this is the exact place where I started liking Guinness Beer, they had this seasonal beer that I tried and from there on I can actually enjoy the taste of a Guinness. Secondly the food was absolutely delicious. I had Sherpard's Pied and I was blown away. Their portions are huge 2 adults can easily share, I almost finished the whole thing. My boyfriend had lamb soup and it was also mouth-watering, everything was delicious, he's been to Ireland and he said this was the closest thing he has tried to authentic Irish food. Overall I was very satisfied with our date experience. read more

10/10 wings, cubano, and broccoli soup. They definitely know how to cook and that soup was amazing! The soup was super hot and delicious with bits of soft broccoli and just the right amount of cheese. I got lucky bc it's the soup of the day, it comes with two pieces of toasted whole grain bread. The wings steal the show with the Buffalo sauce being super spicy and big juicy wings! For $15 you get a huge portion!! The cubano was super thick and perfectly even meats, they did not skimp out. The cocktails I got was the jolly rancher and Moscow mule and my bill was less than $40!! Super adorable, super delicious, great Halloween decorations! I would try the shepherd pie. read more
I got the peach bellini for drinks and the fish and chips for entree. Both were really good, but my favorite part was the live music. They were playing jazz when I was there, and the ambience was perfect. You could check their website for a calendar of exactly what is being played at what time. read more

O.M.G. - My husband and I were recently in Boston and I wanted to find a nice bar to enjoy live music, have a few drinks at the end of the day after sightseeing. We stopped in this past Friday night and were BLOWN AWAY listening to Seth Rosenbloom! What an awesome musician! We had the pleasure of meeting an older fan of Seth's, who sat with us at our table and talked with us about Seth and his accomplishments/career. Listening to him was everything that I wanted - thank you for making this old lady happy! I immediately started following Seth and hopefully he will make an appearance in our area (South Jersey/NJ)! If you get the opportunity to see him perform live, TRUST ME - YOU MUST! Thank you Bebop and a big THANK YOU Seth Rosenbloom for an incredible night of music - your guitar skills are SPECTACULAR! (p.s. - just wished I had ordered the shepherd's pie!) read more

Great open mic and live music at this Irish pub. The steak tips are fantastic. I loved the salmon, potatoes and broccoli. I'll have to revisit for their brunch jazz. Visit here before you go to a performance at Berklee or the BSO/Symphony Hall. read more
