Have walked by this place for years and finally made it in. Overlooking the highway and inside a parking garage is this tiny bar with a warm atmosphere. We came for dinner and drinks. Loved my vanilla barrel cream ale. Oh ya, no cocktails here, only brews and wine! I liked that tbh. More raw feeling. Started with gold style tenders, sauce was tasty and tangy and the tenders were fresh. I liked it dipped in the blue cheese. I then got the bacon bleu burger which was good but on the smaller side. I got mashed potatoes as a side which was delicious! The server asked if I wanted gravy and then proceeded to charge $2 (I didn't even use it). I always get a little salty when places aren't transparent about up charges but anyway. My boyfriend got an order of the twin chili cheese dogs. He enjoyed them and hit the spot. Loved the vibes in here. Was staying nearby for a conference and just wanted a beer in a less fancy environment. Was so pleased this spot serves only beer and wine. No frills (unless you want some bar food). We had already eaten so beers it was. The bartender was friendly and helped my friend pick out some sours. I stick with the Hazy and wasn't disappointed. This just be a lore local spot later on in the evening because less than 20 min after we arrived the place was packed. Some good tunes on the speaker and an overall good time. read more

Visited this cozy pub after a Red Sox game and it was a great way to round out the night. Love the location and how it's built into the side of the parking garage. We found seats at the bar. Service was great and there was a good selection of beers on tap. We also got the White Trash Poutine tots which were smothered in cheese sauce, brown gravy, and scallions. Yum! I would definitely go back just for to have these tots again. Relaxed and non-pretentious atmosphere, good food, great drinks, and fair prices. Will keep this on our "post Red Sox game" short list. read more

My favorite bar in Boston. The staff are all amazing, and the vibes are unmatched. They only play records, and there's always some classic movies on the tvs. Food is great and the beer is cold! My only gripe is that it is definitely on the more pricey side. read more

Had a fun evening with some family members at Bukowski Tavern. We drank a bunch of beer, of course. The selection was pretty good. I enjoyed a winterfest from Jack's Abby. We shared pretzel bites and Kenmare tots that were tasty. I had a Bratwurst Sandwich that was very good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals which included burgers and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. Our server did an awesome job of keeping our glasses full without being intrusive. Would not hesitate to return to this Beer dive bar. read more

Awesome place! We came here after comedy show for a bite to eat mostly but also bit of cider. I got the corn dog thing with fries and portion was large and perfect for a cold evening! I really liked the place too, it was happening with groups of people stopping by (fun to people watch) but still a somewhat narrow / cozy style place and we had a great time here (plus cute bartender of course!). This place is definitely a dive beer bar. There are no other liquors, including wine, but they will carry cider or selzers. They play early 1970's by spinning the vinyl on the record player and changing the album constantly throughout the evening. I had the bacon burger because it was the safe choice, plus the bartender suggested that was the best pick of the menu items. The fries were very fresh, but they are strict on the ketchup they provide in a small paper cup, more like a thimble. Serving was okay. They don't check up on you, and the place fills up fast with toursits looking for a cold brew. No complaints on the burger or fries. It's loud not because of the music but also due to lots of people socializing. I probably would pick another place to hang out in Boston next time. read more

I came in here with a few friends on a whim! We were looking for a place to get drinks but didn't want to go somewhere too fancy in the area. Thankfully, this place fit the bill! It's a beer and cider-only joint, and they definitely have something for everyone here. The beer list is rad with tons of super cool and unique ciders and sours. There's of course your classic Guinness on the menu, too. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place, especially. It's quite small and packed with tons of character. There's stuff all over the walls, and hilarious chalkboard writing. The bathroom is decked out in tons of stickers. It's just a really fun bar with a divey vibe and great drinks. As I was sitting with my friends, I noticed they were playing a lot of Sufjan Stevens. I turned around and noticed they had a fully-functional vinyl record player behind the bar. So cool! Definitely, something I'm not used to seeing. All in all, this is a great spot to check out if you're a fan of beer and cider and are looking for something more low-key. read more

Was looking for a place to get food after 9pm. This establishment popped up, as it was near my hotel. And, not that I was looking for it, one thing that was highlighted was that they had a peanut butter burger. One of my favorites. So, of course I had to come here. The place is small and kind of dark. Luckily, it wasn't busy at this time at night and there was plenty of bar seats. Food wise, I knew what I was going to order (as stated above). I figured I would have a beer while I was here, too. They had a unique cider on tap, which was Blake's Caramel Apple Cider. I took a shot with it. I was not disappointed. As soon as the glass arrived you could smell the caramel. But, it wasn't overbearing in the taste. Again, a unique taste. Now, on to the burger. IF you never had a PB burger, you are missing out. You have a few side options to choose from and I went with a side salad for a $2 up charge. And it is a small portion. Worth the up charge? Probably not. The burger, itself, I think was a frozen patty. Didn't really taste that fresh. I got mine with bacon, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. And it had a perfect portion of peanut butter. The main downside about this experience was the customer service. It looked like there were 2 guys working, not counting the guy in the kitchen. But, they were more concerned about looking and playing vinyl than taking care of the customer. Oh well. Someone else's mileage may vary here. read more

Bukowski Tavern is a great hole-in-the-wall bar in a great location. It is easily accessible via the T. The menu includes a nice selection of beers, including several local beers, and they also have an extensive food menu. I tried the Hermit Thrush and Winter Hill beers. The Hermit Thrush is a delicious sour, and I highly recommend it. The prices of the beers are fairly average. We shared an order of tots and they were so good that they were gone before I could snap a picture. Needless to say, that is a must-order if you're looking for a snack alongside your beer! This bar doesn't seem to be very busy most of the time, so it is a good place to visit for some social activity during the pandemic without being around too many people. read more

Went for late dinner and drinks on a Sunday in Boston. It's a pretty small dive bar, but it does have plenty of character as you can see from its menu. Service was average. The food is pretty good, and it even features some vegan items. I had the peanut butter and bacon cheeseburger, which was pretty awesome. They even managed to make my burger medium rare as requested. Their white trash poutine tater tots are amazing. The cheese sauce and gravy combo was quite addicting. Strangely enough, they make really good potato products in general. Their fries, tater tots, and mashed potatoes were all perfect. Their beer list is extensive and features more than your run of the mill macro brews. I pass through Boston a lot for work. I make it a point to visit a new restaurant/bar every time. First, I check out the Yelp reviews to set my expectations. I note and analyze the good and the bad reviews. I am a "dive bar" connoisseur. It takes ONE thing to make a dive bar "rise" or "dive" : the Service. Being a "dive bar" doesn't mean having "divey" service. Unfortunately, tonight, I didn't get the service that would have kept me there beyond ONE beer. I wanted to try their food- even though the main focus seems to be tater tots. I got a beer quickly. There were two bartenders. Both just appeared somber. One left for a brief while. I got close to empty on the beer. Nobody came by and asked if I wanted to order food. They seemed like they were not wanting to even be there. I don't like having to work. I'd rather be independently wealthy and do other things too! But when i face the public- my boss expects me to help my own paycheck by at least appearing like I'm "OK" and giving the appearance that i would like to see the customer enjoy being there. Now, the place has a "schtick" - it IS known for it's unique quirky/eclectic theme and so forth. But that doesn't let people off the hook for doing a good job. I got tired of being ignored, watching somber faces - and it wasn't busy. They seemed like they were at some work camp vs trying to earn a tip on your experience. I left a tip anyway. I know it's a dive bar. But grimace (if you can't force a smile) once in a while or say "welcome" one time. I was nice, maybe reflect that back? IDK. I went across the street and had a much better warm experience at the same price. So, I'm sorry to say- not coming back. Maybe they didn't like me because only locals are welcome? Bukowski is one of those small neighborhood bars that the locals go to. And when I say small, it's prettyyyy small. I haven't had trouble finding a table here though because turnaround can be pretty quick, or I've come at off hours. **Just so you're not surprised, BEER & WINE ONLY. and CASH ONLY! They'll remind you though They have a good selection of beer, and I love that they have the petite sizes! I can't drink that much beer to begin with, so those mini ones are perfect for me :) After midnight, their burgers are only $6!! Ummm hellooo peanut butter and bacon burger? YES PLEASE. It even comes with a side! such a good deal. Too bad I'm a gramma and rarely stay up past 12 unless I'm already out and want some late night drunchies. BUT kitchen closes at 1:30, so your window is pretty tight. I really liked their peanut butter burger! Not as good as Boston Burger Company, but it definitely gets the job done and I recommend it for the adventurous souls We also shared the white trash poutine tater tots. I wasn't a huge fan of these. The tots themselves were nice and crunchy, but the gravy, jalapenos and whatever else was on it, didn't really add much to the dish except for heat.
