We came in for a wedding cake tasting so this review is based solely on our experience for this event. - PARKING - Huge parking lot, no problem finding a spot at all. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We booked an appointment ahead of time and told them the cake flavors we wanted to try. Pretty simple process, no hiccups in scheduling. We got a few high tables and chairs reserved for our party, where they served us two plates of the flavors we ordered. We were also given small Martinelli bottles and water. There's no private area, and they simply drop off the cakes, let you try them, and come back to check in. Other customers are still going in and out of the store, having their food at the tables behind us, and ordering things to-go. I do like the fact we got to discuss amongst ourselves, but it was a much more casual experience than I expected for a wedding cake tasting. - EXPERIENCE/FOOD - Cake Tasting ($40 for 2): They gave generous portions so we were able to try multiple bites of each flavor which was nice. I did feel like their regular cakes were all a bit dry and crumbly, but their chiffon cakes were nice and fluffy. Their buttercream is also too sweet for my liking, but their whipped cream was great. As said before, they were very casual, almost seeming like they weren't too invested. When they checked back in at the end of our tasting, they ran the numbers for our guest count and that was it. - OVERALL - I wasn't very impressed with the cake samples we received, so I guess in a way I am happy we got to taste their product before making a decision of not going with them. read more

I'm so disappointed. I called on 11/26/25 the day before Thanksgiving and asked them if they had the white cake with the berries available to pick up on the same day Wednesday for Thanksgiving. They assured me they do and they will. I live in OC and was driving to my sister's house in Murrieta and told her she could pick them up. So my sister went there to pick up the cake was informed that they did not have any. The lady was so rude to my sister and was calling me a liar. Saying no one ever said that. So we were out of luck because this cake was also for a birthday. I called because the lady lied to me and to my sister. I called back and she said there was a mix up between the front and the bakery. This is not an excuse. My sister and niece always and only go to this bakery. They are loyal customers. However being lied to, having my sister drive all that way to have a smug lady talk to her and basically said that I never called is outrageously unacceptable. However I bought a white cake with berries down in OC at Whole Foods with no problems and no one calling me a liar. Plus how rude they were to my sister makes her never want to go back here. Ordered the strawberries and cream cake but it was so underwhelming :( Nobody liked it because it was so lacking with strawberries in between layers, you were lucky to find any when slicing. I payed way too much for what it was. My company and myself have ordered cakes many times from here and this was the first time my Walmart cake ( $26) was hands down better than this cake . Bought 14 assorted cupcakes and paid 69.91! Was a recommended bakery. It was a special occasion for my daughter's 25th birthday. As we were spending the weekend in Temecula to celebrate. The cupcakes were absolutely horrible. All stale and no flavor! The worst cupcakes ever. I was better off buying them at Costco! Do not recommend and don't waste your money for old stale cupcakes. We wanted to try their assorted desserts when had a second tasting in store. Meghan was so sweet and presented us with possible ways to go. All their desserts were amazing and it was hard to choose but we went with mini cheesecakes, cannolis, brookies and creme puffs along with our two tier cake. It was huge hit. Interesting experience to say the least, found 2 hairs in 2 tamales (red and green) so 4 hairs within one meal with my family so it was interesting seeing my son who hasn't ate all day disappointed to find 2 hairs in his food. Don't trust this place for special events.... This place ruined my daughter's graduation. After much back and forth planning the cake design I was told to come in and pay for it in full. I attempted twice to pay for the cake in the store but there was confusion on taking the payment. I was told to wait till the cake girl called me. She tried to call me and left a message with just her name, I tried to call her back but no answer. I came in on the day of pick up early in the am to confirm the order and was told they decided not to make the cake since it wasn't paid for. They should have tried to call me again to confirm before deciding not to make it rather than wait for me to come in and get upset that the cake wasn't done. They asked me to leave and never come back. Don't trust this place to make something important for your families event. Cakes are not amazing tasting but look nice. Not worth the trouble. read more

The Battery Up Bakery is located in the plaza across the street from Costco with plenty of parking. My husband and I decided to stop by this bakery this past Saturday, a little before 11 am. Lisa (according to our receipt), a very friendly employee helped us when it was our turn to purchase items (there was only another couple ahead of us in line). We ended up purchasing: Caramel Macchiato Cake Slice, $6.25 prior to tax- Wow this slice of cake was good. The caramel was a delicious complement to the cake but was a bit sweet with the frosting. My husband and I shared this slice, as it is really the perfect size for sharing. We ate this dessert here inside the bakery, as there is seating available. Buckeye Bar, $3.99 prior to tax- This bar is made with dark chocolate, mousse and walnuts. I was thinking this dessert would be too rich but I really thought it was perfect in small amounts (I ate this over a few days, just a little amount at a time). I loved the chocolate mousse. Lemon Dome, $4.99 prior to tax- This dessert is a ball of a small amount of cake with a large amount of lemon mousse that is covered in white chocolate. I thought this dessert was just fantastic and I don't normally like lemon flavored desserts. That mousse really was nice and not too sweet. It was very nice with the cake and white chocolate. I ate this dessert over 2 separate days and found it to still be moist and very flavorful (I am sure most would just devour this dessert all in one sitting but there is only so much sweets and desserts I want to eat at the end of the day). Lemon Blueberry Scone, $4.50 prior to tax- My husband ordered this and ate this scone 2 days after purchasing. He heated it up and dipped it in milk. I ate it without the milk and thought it was very moist and very tasty. This scone is definitely a large size and had a nice balance of the blueberries and lemon icing. Chocolate chip cookie, free with Yelp check in, but normally $2.99 prior to tax- This cookie was warm and was surprised how big it was, especially since it was free. Nothing beats a classic cookie and this bakery definitely has nailed it. ------------------------- (Total= $21.46 after tax + free cookie with Yelp check in offer) Please note that this place has both indoor and (covered) outdoor seating. There is also a coffee place inside this bakery called Bean Coffee Roasters. The indoor seating has black and white/ sepia colored photos of baseball players and a few photos of the Brooklyn stadium. I love their logo of a woman up to bat but with a large whisk. The ladies restroom that I had used on this visit was clean and adequately stocked with the essentials. My husband and I were happy for days after coming to this bakery with all the desserts we had. I will be sure to come back to this bakery the next time I am visiting Temecula. read more

Unfortunately just because they have cool Pretend cakes outside doesn't mean that they are going to be good. It's my friend's 50th birthday and we rented a ranch in the wineries. This was the closest bakery for special 50th birthday cake. I literally live on a mountain and my best friend has a cancer, so it's a big effort for us to go down the hill into town.We got there they told us to go on the website to order the cake. Which already felt very frustrating. We did get in contact with them one time with a quote of $210 which was fine. Now trying to pay it or get them to get back to us completely different thing. Unfortunately, I have to rate Batter Up Bakery 1 star due to my wedding cake not looking like the inspiration picture at all. This bakery was a preferred vendor from my wedding venue and when I met with one of the Batter Up team members, they assured me that this was a simple design that could be achieved. Not sure why the cake was transferred on this white crinkly plate thing but I would expect more for a WEDDING cake. I also didn't add on the fresh flowers since that would've been an additional fee. If you zoom in, you can see that the edges are not smooth and even at all. The inspo pics even have gold dots but that is nowhere on my cake. I've showed multiple people the comparison of the inspo vs the result and I'm met with shock and silence. The bakery never apologized for this poor performance and only gave me a 30% refund ($54.20). The only positive things I can say are: 1) that the cake tasted great, however it was way too expensive for the 1/2 sheet cake to feed 100 people at $400 (considering no one was going to see this sheet cake) & 2) everyone who tried the desserts said they were really yummy (cookies, lemon bars, brownies, shooters, cake pops). I was too busy enjoying my wedding to try the desserts but happy my guests were able to enjoy. Overall, I would not recommend buying your wedding cake here and would find elsewhere. I've never had to write a bad experience on Yelp before and I'm glad I didn't know about it on my wedding day but it is just very disappointing to look back at pictures of my cake. read more

I recently visited The Batter Up Bakery to place a large custom order for my daughter. Unfortunately, I was informed by the staff member at the front that she couldn't take custom order and that I need to speak with the person responsible for them, presumably her boss or the owner. When I asked to speak with this specific person, I was told that she was in the back and unable to speak with me because she had exactly 58 emails to respond to. Exactly 58! Dear young lady at the front, learning to value customers and saying "Yes" will get you a lot further in life. Dear owner, it's 2024. Customers should be able to order online without having to deal with your rude staff. I found it surprising that I was denied the opportunity to speak with her despite my insistence. Ultimately, we decided to leave and went to a competitor down the street, where we were treated much better. Just tried your new " Build a BUB Sandwich Wrap"(selected sliced Turkey, Swiss cheese, spinach, tomato, onion, and added guacamole). It was amazing. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
