I absolutely love this store in Gilbert! I have been searching for a new computer. The one I bought at Best Buy outlet about a year ago has crashed three times and it's just so slow so I've been looking for a desktop iMac instead of a laptop and searched and searched and searched. I found Apple exchange by accident when I typed in iMac financing, I can proudly say that I trust the gentlemen who were in the store. Their items were clean, professional, and they were very confident in the questions I asked about the computer. They did not try to upsell me or talk to me like I'm an idiot. I felt comfortable and upgraded to a bigger screen spare no expense lol. They promoted their work and warranty. I have been in here countless times and not once have I seen anything for a good deal. I love supporting local business so I have tried to buy here numerous times to my own chagrin. Apple offers their own refurbished laptops and not only are they identical in price, apple also provides you a new laptop chassis and a brand new battery to boot. It's also backed by an Apple manufacturer 1 year warranty, rather than the Apple Xchange warranty which may or may not be good (I've never had a chance to try it). That being said, the staff have always been informative and friendly but man, please make it worth my while to show up? Apple products hold their value but when you sell for the same price as the big box, why would I bother? read more

First experience with the Apple Xchange Gilbert location. Dropped off a MacBook in need of a screen repair on Monday, I was told it should be done Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. I called Thursday evening after not receiving any update, and spoke with someone who informed me the needed part had not yet even shipped. Would not give me a timeframe for completion. When I questioned the timeline I had been given on Monday, he offered that I could pick up my laptop from there and take it to Apple where I can "wait 2 to 3 weeks for repair." Very helpful comment! The solution to a customer concern is not to tell them to just go somewhere else. When I asked for an update on the estimated time frame for completion. I was instructed to "just wait for their call." I informed this person that there is now an inconvenience with my academic work because I was told it would be done Thursday; the laptop was functional when I dropped it off with a display distortion (but still working in a pinch) and the response I got again was that I could take my computer to Apple and wait 2 to 3 weeks. I asked when I would receive an update, they said "when it is finished." I get that you're the "Apple alternative" but this poor customer service experience has reminded me that I'm probably better off dealing with Apple. read more

Took an older MacBook Pro for a battery replacement. Job was done by next day. They were gracious enough to help with an OS install at no extra cost. The 2 young guys working there are fantastic, great customer service, good attitude. Removed 1 star for quality of customer service when I picked the laptop up. Older guy. Laptop screen was super dusty. They also did not put back the clear plastic protector I had on the bottom of it. Did not notice til I got home. Overall, nice place, I would recommend over Apple store as no face diapers required and probably faster service. read more

I took my iPhone in for a new battery but the tech who helped me checked the battery and showed me that it still had a lot of life left. He advised me to make some changes that would help save the battery life and said that I really didn't need to purchase a new one. I am a big fan of The Apple Xchange. I am a long time customer of the Tempe location and I am so happy that they opened this Gilbert location closer to my house. I had to bring my computer in over this last weekend because it wouldn't turn on and I didn't know why. I am a Realtor and rely on my laptop 100% to work so I was freaking out. The man working (sorry I didn't catch your name) was so great. I had to leave my computer with them but I received a call only a couple hours later with good news. It was a minor issue and was fixed right away without charge! I have never experienced customer service of this caliber. The case of the curious kitten, the diet Coke and the MacBook Pro laptop...I carelessly left a diet coke next to my laptop and went off to an appointment. When I returned, the laptop was sitting in a pool of soda. My AppleCare expired and I had $$$$ signs floating in front of my eyes. I found the Apple Xchange on Yelp and figured if they had a location near ASU, they repaired a lot of MACs. Long story shorter...dropped it off at 11am and had it back by 2pm same day! Cost to fix was around $150.00 plus a new charger. To say I am pleased with the service, the speed and the price - is an understatement. I came in with my macbook pro and did not need an appointment they helped me super quickly i couldn't be seen at the apple genius bar until that night and i am a med student so i couldn't wait to find out if it was broken. They serviced a diagnostics so quickly and told me my laptop was still under warranty and i just needed a new charger!!! I brought my laptop in to get the battery replaced. It seemed like the battery was not holding a great charge after the work was done but I thought maybe it was my computer draining it because they battery was brand new and I was assuming they tested the work they did before giving it back to me. I went through and deleted tons of stuff of the computer hoping it was something that was just draining it really fast. Finally after the 3rd month my laptop wouldn't even hold a charge for an hour. I took it back in and they said that I was 10 days past their 90 day warranty. I am shocked that a company would only warranty the parts they used for 90 days when almost every online place to buy computer batteries are 1 year. They tested the battery and confirmed that the battery they put in was bad but said they could only comp the labor to put a new one in because it was 10 days past the warranty. It seems impossible that a battery could go that bad in just 3 months unless they put in a horrible quality battery or a used one to start with. I'm extremely disappointed that I would have to spend another +$100 for a battery that they put in that didn't work in the first place. If you want work that lasts and is actually guaranteed past a few months then I would go to a place with a better warranty policy than here. read more
