The guy that runs this place is really honest!! I bought a phone from him Friday, on Tuesday I went to make a phone call and the speaker was very low. I brought it to him and within an hour he fixed it free of charge. As far as I could tell he had some good phones at reasonable prices to fit any budget!! I am praying my phone lasts awhile. But I will be a returning customer when I need my next phone. Hopefully I won't have to return anytime soon, at least a year, I'm hoping!! He seems to be busy with customers gladly waiting whenever I am there. I was there about two years ago trying to get a phone flashed and he told me it was too new. I had some questions and they very helpful. Honest and reasonable people. The other customers who were there had questions and were served in a manner that represented their best interests. Today, I was treated to not only a frustrating experience, but an experience noted by my legal counsel as" defamation" due to the following statements I will share with readers of this review. My Iphone 5 needed a new screen, as the body and the screen had slightly separated. As this business was near my office, I made the phone call to the business and asked if a new screen could be installed. The phone was in perfect working condition at 12:34 when I walked in the door today. In evidence of this, the phone had ( and has now) a text message received as I walked into the store, as well as a phone call ( I let that go to voice mail). I was assumed that there would be no problem in replacing the screen, and told to come back in one hour at 1:30 pm, which I did,.How many of you have had your Iphone screen replaced? Read on.. At 1:30, the phone was presented to me by the owner- -but-- on closer inspection, I noted that the message "searching" , as in searching for internet connection, showed on the top of the phone. Now, a reasonable person would believe that the business owner of ten plus years, with experience in repairing cell phones, would certainly make sure for their customer that the phone was completely operational prior to delivering the phone and finalizing payment. I brought the lack of service notification up to Daryl.No comment, except to say that he had done everything correctly. " But why is the phone not working now?" No explanation-- instead -the following comment from the owner. " So, did you come in here to present a fraudulent claim-?" My jaw dropped! About this time , another woman customer walked in the store. I stated to Daryl that I was not interested in paying for a new screen now that my perfectly good phone no longer worked. Another statement ensured--about presenting a fraudulent claim, from Daryl. I suggested that perhaps the piece he installed might be defective ( this in order to allow him to save face- and give him an out .) Daryl did take off the new screen in front of myself and the other customer. I patiently waited. Old screen back on the phone- still -" no service." Again , the next logical step should have been-- to call the service provided, and see if there was a reset that needed to be done. My thought--which did not happen. Left with a now nonworking phone, I advised Daryl that I wished to place a claim with his insurance company. Again, defensive comments about what I must have done to the phone to make it stop working., etc. I had enough!. I told Daryl that I would call my service provider, and see if there was something they could rectify, and if that did not resolve the issue-- I WOULD be back to present a claim. Now for those readers that are possibly uninformed--please look up the definition of "slander". It is a tort of defamation, which carries legal implications. When someone makes a false statement , that damages a persons good reputation, especially if it is uttered in front of a third party- this is SLANDER. I know this as I work with attorney's in the legal field, and have done so for over 20 years. My phone was purchased at full price from my provider-- not as a two year $199 contract phone. Even at Actual Cash Value, I would have to pay between $250 and lets say $350 to get a clean ESN, on my network, thru my particular carrier. This would be difficult, as my carrier no longer sells Iphones. So Ebay would possibly be my option to try and find the same model as what I have. So ,you can all be the judges here. I initially intended to call the store to advise that the phone was reset--and luckily that was all that happened..I decided that I would NOT call-- but instead leave this factual review. Virgin Mobile says this can happen if the technician happens to touch something within the phone , that can set up a static charge--disrupting the signal from the towers to the phone. My new knowledge learned today-- certainly again-- a party with this type of business would know this, having worked on "thousands" of phones, even as he said " nothing like this has ever happened--it's nothing I did. " Well , guess what? It did today. What happened to the respectable business person who should have tried to rectify the issue? Instead, he accuses the customer of trying to defraud his business! One star down because I tried to call and kept getting a voicemail that was so staticky he could have been telling me to jump off a roof, the building burned down or anything and I wouldn't have known it. Went in to buy my daughter a phone, they have a big selection to choose from and he is very knowledgeable about each phone too. Daryl ( if I am remembering his name right ) is great to deal with and made it super easy getting the new ( new to us, it was actually a used phone but you can't tell by looking at it ) phone up and running before we left. I highly recommend that if you need anything for your phone or tablet you go directly to them, it turns out he has a great selection of phones and even tablets to pick from for the best prices I've found. If you don't go see them you're only going to have you're self to blame when you find out that the other places are charging more for what they have and from my experience the other stores don't have the selection or service you get at Yakety Yak read more

My 5 year old daughter has an iPhone 4S that she loves to play games and watch videos on, until one day the audio stopped working. It would ring and alerts made noise, but no audio when doing anything else on the phone. After countless hours of internet research I found a lot of "it could be this..." solutions, but I didn't want to spend hours and tons of $$ replacing parts that MIGHT fix it. So I decided to take it to a pro. I took it in to Darryl, and within 30 seconds he said he knew exactly what it was, and it would cost me $50 to do a port repair (which has the connectors for the audio on it). That was a lot cheaper than buying a new phone so I left it there, and he called me back a few hours later to say it was all done and working perfectly. I'm so glad I found this place and will continue to bring him my business for any phone repairs. He also had a TON of phones for sale that I looked at while I was there, and ended up picking up a used phone for my son to play with since he's about at that age now.
