Are you worried it's gonna take ages to get in to see them?! Are you worried about making the mortgage payment AND paying for the computer repair. So if those are your concerns you should take your trust issues and not walk but RUN to go see Tom. He has been helping me out of sticky computer situations for probably a decade now - I trust him implicitly and he will not only go the extra mile but will straight up tell you when you passed the last mile and it's time to just give up. And mourn the loss - of data or documents or computer - with you. Not enough stars to rate Tom, he is one of the good guys. I took my pc in knowing that my ssd was failing in some way, but wanted to get it diagnosed on what…read moreexactly I needed to get replaced (the cables, connectors, or the ssd itself) so I could have peace of mind. After paying the $59, after waiting a weekend of relief, when I called for the follow-up, I was told what I already knew. That my ssd was failing, and they couldn't test it any further. Okay, I took it in for a diagnosis, told them I knew it was the ssd that was corrupted or damaged, and then three days later they tell me the same thing that I told them to begin with... But for the repair I was told it would be $240, and that it might not even work to get my data back. I told them I don't care about getting my data back, I just wanted a new drive and a fresh install of windows. I was told it would be $140 for that. I don't understand how buying a $50 ssd and reinstalling windows would cost $140. Even if I asked them to just ditch the ssd and install windows on one of my HDD's it would be the same cost. Since the only thing they told was the same thing I told them when I walked in the store, I would desire a refund. Update: I picked up my pc and when I asked about a refund, he was rather blunt and said that I didn't know what was wrong and insinuated that I was lying. He said something similar to "you would've fixed it yourself if you knew what the problem was". I told them that the problem was the ssd with the operating system downloaded on it when I originally called and when I brought it in... and apparently I'm being gaslit... There is no reasonable explanation for a new ssd and windows installation costing $140 at the minimum. It was not a transparent price, as when I asked on the phone and in person what their rates were they said both times 'it will be a $60 fee, BUT it will go towards total cost of the repair which is the cost of parts and a small labor fee' According to them, it would be $99 for the ssd replacement and $40 for labor. A 500 gb samsung ssd (already double the storage of my original ssd) is only $53 on amazon... I am a highschool student and can only work part-time hours, which means I don't have enough money to pay for these absurd up charges, and not enough time to do the repairs myself. I don't have enough money to have $60 go to waste when that is half the money I make in a week. I had to save money to even afford the "evaluation", and I am not interested in the $240 or $140 prices. Again, like before my update, I ask for a refund because the workers were a bit rude and blunt when I told them my situation and didn't care about the situation I'm in.

The bill they gave me differs from what my credit card account states. Sneaky!!!! The total cost was $438 to replace a hard drive. That is ridiculous. I called the next business day to ask for help (that is part of my membership) and they said to bring it in and they would look at it. I am self-employed, I cannot leave my laptop somewhere for a day or two. I called a friend and he logged into my computer and fixed what I needed in 5 minutes. We tried a number of methods to solve our networking issues. strategically placing TVs, games and screens in "HOT" locations. We purchased extenders and the Netgear batwing 8000X super modem that is so powerful it might cause mutations and be illegal in other countries. Soon The west side of the house was deemed the Black Hole of WiFi death. After some research we hired Data Doctors. THEY ARE Amazing. The fixed our WiFi added hot spots throughout the house and set up the kids network from the adults so that I can snack down their WiFi at a moments notice! No more waiting for things to load or download or print! I'm having to kick the neighbor kids off our WiFi now! No more black hole of death!

He told me Data Doctor prices, what else would go into it (e.g., getting Windows back on the computer), and that if I couldn't do it myself, Data Doctors was there for me. He didn't exactly tell me to go for it, but he definitely gave me the confidence to know I was on the right track. I was able to save myself 100s of dollars by doing it myself. So, if I ever CAN'T do it myself, I'm definitely going to Data Doctors because this experience really spoke to their integrity and the type of business they run. Thank you!!

Disclaimer: Sean is in the process of moving his storefront from Tempe to Gilbert and is running a pickup/drop off service. I offered to meet him halfway as his location was around 20 minutes away and he was very grateful. I am not one to typically leave reviews, however Sean was so kind, well meaning, respectful, and gave me live updates about how the repair was going. This was the best customer service experience I have ever received in tech. The apple store quoted me at $1300 and sean completely repaired my water damaged 2017 macbook pro and was able to recover all of my data for just $400. My computer was under reasonable use conditions and slightly dirty when I gave it to him. He returned it back in sparkling condition having cleaned thoroughly the interior and exterior. He even cleaned my dusty fans even though they had nothing to do with the repair. Above and beyond service. 5 stars

My I phone would not let me update or download or do anything. I tried everything I knew then I called experimax and spoke with a young man named Ryan and he assured me even though he was not an apple store that he could fix my phone problem. So I went there and Ryan took my phone and began to research the problem he found the cause rather quickly ,however we needed to call apple as they had internally disconnected a part of my phone do to strange activity. I purchased a new Mac Book Pro and a new I Pad from Experimax - Gilbert. The procured my items at prices comparable to the Apple Store. They transferred my data from my traded in items to the new ones and made sure it all worked properly. They accepted all my old Apple computers, I pads and part for recycle. They also cleared my old equipment of all my data. They have responded to all my requests for help. They are much closer than the Apple Store and not near as busy. They were also able to find me a discontinued Mouse that I really like. I will do all my future business with them. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Great Pricing, Great Communication... Called Muaz with an issue I had with my PS5... I asked can you get it done and back to me the same day... he said yes, I got a call from Muaz during the the repair process and he explained there was additional work required to identify the underlying issue. Ultimately the PS5 was irreparable. If he can't do it, no one can. He dropped the rate to his base fee because it could not be repaired... even with all the work he had done. I had a computer with a 120 GB SSD hard drive, that I had maxed out. I was ready to buy a whole new laptop for $1300 from Fry's. I took my computer to Experimax, talked tp Russ, and they were not only able to install a new 500 GB SSD, but also transferred the operating system, all programs, and data. Cost was less than $170. They saved me more than $1100, and my computer works flawlessly. One thing I really liked was talking to the guys that would work on my computer. Thank you, Russ, great customer service. read more

I just had a hard drive and screen replaced and also upgraded the RAM by Experimac for no more money than I would have had just to replace the hard drive. Nadine, the manager, is a great lady who really tries to make sure the customer is happy. Also, Eric is there most of the time in the Gilbert office and can be relied on to give solid advice. I'd recommend them to anyone who is having problems with their MAC but doesn't want to pay the high prices and long waiting times of the Apple Store. read more

These guys saved my iMac. I had upgraded the software to Catalina (Apple insisted) and nothing worked right. Apple couldn't fix it. My iMac is too old (2012). Ryan was able to restore Mojave OS (which Apple would not do) and all is working well. Very reasonable pricing too. They also install I-phone batteries for much less than the Apple store. read more

I spilled milk on my MacBook Pro and my screen stopped working, so I took it in and Eric opened it up to see how much water damage my board had. He said that most charge even if it's not that bad. He was great and helped me out! I will be returning in the morning to get it cleaned and get hopefully get the screen working again. read more

This place actually made my phone worse than when I brought it in for a simple screen fix the rep damaged my lcd and wouldn't own up to it and I wasn't even refunded and had a non working device that would need a total replacement. That's not exactly great service. read more
