Super disappointed with my experience here. Spent $530 on a replacement screen for my MacBook Pro last Aug. 31. By January, the screen started showing small blotches of discoloration near the bottom. Took it in, was told too bad, you're outside the 90-day warranty. Then last week the hinges on the screen completely stopped working. Imagine the screen opening and closing like the hardcover of a book, not staying open at any angle. Brought it back again and was told the same thing: too bad. The owner said the best he could do was replace it free of labor. A new screen was still going to cost upwards of $300. I told him I couldn't justify giving him any more business, and I'm hoping this post deters anyone else from doing so, as well. It might have been out of warranty, but if I'm running a shop I would be horrified if this is the product/quality of work I'm offering. Personally, I think the right thing to do would be to take the hit and stand behind a high-quality repair. He wouldn't do it. The Apple Store told me the screen that Apple Xchange installed wasn't an original part. I'm left to conclude the owner here is sourcing low-quality, cheap parts and passing them off as authentic. Obviously a nightmare situation for me; with what it will cost to get another new screen, I'm basically looking at around the same price as if I had just bought a new computer last August. read more

Had a wonderful experience Saturday at the Apple Xchange in Tempe. The calendar app on my IPad was infected with spam that I had tried everything to delete. So I brought the IPad in and they spent a good bit of time going through the settings and explaining everything to me. Turns out it was a problem with syncing the email program with the calendar, and by turning that function off the spam disappeared. I had not been looking for a handout, and when I asked, they refused any payment. If this is the way they treat someone who just walked in off the street, then I assure you I will be buying my next Apple product at the Apple Xchange. read more

I really, really love this place. What's not to love when you get fast responses to Yelp messages, helpful answers to inquiries, and fast and professional service? There is SO much to love. Went back after less than a year to get my MacBook Pro battery replaced. I declined when they mentioned I might need a new one because I didn't want to exceed my budget and the tech thought it would be ok a little longer. Instead of getting a new iPad, I decided to invest the $100 or so in a new battery. I'm doing a lot in a software program and like to be on the couch creating and not attached to my power cord. I was ready to purchase a new Mac and a new MacBook at Costco. My Mac is a 2013 and would not accept updates. My MacBook had water damage and the Apple Store said my laptop was toast and needed replacement. Total cost for new equipment was about $2400. The Costco associate suggested I go to Apple Xchange in Tempe before I made the purchase as he recommended they give my hardware a look to see if I could upgrade OS and repair laptop. I took my MacBook Pro in for a relatively simple screen replacement. I was originally advised that it would take 3-5 business days for the replacement, however after checking with them 2 full weeks later, the "part" still had not arrived. I was then advised that the part would be in their store in 3 days and they would get my device repaired. I check back a week later and the replacement screen still hadn't arrived. Nonetheless, after 1 month of having my laptop in their possession they were unable to replace the screen or even secure the replacement part. Furthermore, the staff acted both unapologetic in their lack of communication and uninterested in finding a resolution. Avoid if you can. It's simply not worth the frustration. read more

I wanted to write an updated review of this location. I previously did have an encounter with a former employee (or one that isn't at this location anymore anyway), but I have never had anything but excellent service with their products and product repair/knowledge. I've continued to use this company for all my repairs with both my computers and iPhone. Besides the one guy that is no longer there a few years ago, all the staff have always been really helpful and very knowledgeable and offer lots of extra tips. Their prices are very fair also. The first few times I went here with my employer, these guys were great. I hate to give them a bad review, however my last visit was short and upsetting. I brought my godsons iPad in to get checked out because it suddenly stopped charging. It hadn't come on in a week, and we trusted these guys to give us an accurate description of possible causes. That didn't happen, I went in and this newer looking guy comes from the back and offers assistance. I explained the issue and he LOOKED at the tablet and stated it couldn't be repaired. I'm telling you I drove from north Phoenix to Tempe for ONE minute of advice. I believe the issue this time was because I was wearing my Trump shirt. The gentleman wasn't kind, and he never once smiled. My assumption is definitely not far fetched as this happens daily especially with me being a black supporter. Either way, I will now find another store, or allow my employer to take it in himself. Discrimination on the basis of something you don't like is unacceptable. By the way, I cleaned the tablet up, because he's 3 and it was sticky all over...and guess what it powered on lol. My 9 year old Macbook Pro was running really slow in January. Had these guys look at it and they swapped out the hard drive for a solid state drive for what I think is a reasonable price with labor. Started running like brand new again. In August the same computer was stuck on a loading screen after I entered my password. After multiple attempts of them trying to check the hard drive or credentials they ended up creating a new user account and I just re-downloaded my files from iCloud again. Also another woman that was there at the same time. I went outside and charged it in less then 2 mins in my car. But inside it took over 40 mins to not charge my exchange phone. They kept telling me my battery was bad. They were lying and trying to give me less for my exchange. They just laughed it off when I told them their charger was bad. I left came back and a small guy from the back wearing a derby type hat came out. He was very rude and flat out mean. I had made no complaints. He gave me Horrible looks and had a real attitude.
