This shop is great for vintage game repairs, but I'd avoid buying or repairing a PS5 here. The owner successfully repaired my original PS5 once, but when it failed again, he couldn't fix it. I then bought a used PS5 from the shop, and it had issues immediately. Instead of standing behind the product, he insisted both consoles were failing because of an "environmental" issue on my end. Thankfully, I returned it within an hour and got a refund. Since purchasing a PS5 elsewhere, I haven't experienced any of the supposed "environmental" issues. Based on his response, I'm not confident I would have received a refund if I hadn't returned it immediately. read more

I stopped by the lab to get my surface pro 4 battery repaired. The staff was fast, friendly and took ownership of the repairs from the start. They advised that though repairs will make my pc work again it is likely to suffer know manufacturing issues after due to faulty engineering. I had some things that needed to get fixed and they were not cell phones. One was my fathers old radio, A Classic with Tubes, and an older extension cord that I wanted to cut in half to create two which is more functional since this cord was over 100'. In both cases Laura said SURE, bring them in and we will look at them. On the radio upon review she thought due to the age and use of tubes I would be better going to the Sound Guy on Bell Rd since he works with ancient radios and on the extension cords she got it done. Most places would had said NO and not even look at them. She was OPEN to the possibility and willing to see if she could satisfy the customers projects. My Xbox hard drive was going out and I've owned it for over five years (warranty expired). Microsoft wants you to buy the latest technology but no one has the X series. I called around locally and ended up finding Tech Lab. They were not my first place to call (due to my searching) but they were my last. highly recommend you choose another company to fix your device. We spent way to much money fixing a PS4, first time Game device was there we paid, took home, didn't work, we had to bring back and another tech said Dan was fixed Incorrectly. Had to bring it back oops sorry they forgot to fix correctly. Second time we took it back because we are suckers and didn't learn from our 1st visit, the HDMI port needed to be soldered. That lasted 2 weeks, we went on vacation and came back they blamed us for it being forced. Imagine Sony sells these all day long millions of them and soldering lasts longer than two weeks. Truth is crappy service, crappy work, no warranty. Any good company would have opened it up fixed it right. Our learning lesson. Don't make it yours. Choose anyone else. read more
