I have AT&T as my cell phone provider. I subscribed to Assurion for phone protection. My Galaxy S10 got a couple chips on the screen. Assurion told me that I could not get the screen repaired (advertised repair cost of $29.00), so I had to buy a NEW phone for $125 and then return the old phone after all data was transferred and then erased from old phone. When I got my NEW phone, it was NOT NEW; I got a refurbished S23. I felt uncomfortable transferring data, so I called AT&T store, but they would not transfer the data because I didn't buy the phone from them. Instead, I had to go to an Assurion store (uBreakitIfix) so I called the closest one. They said to bring it in and after they checked my Assurion account, they told me the transfer work would be free. I brought it in about 11:00 AM MST. I left another cell phone number for them to call when it was done. About 6:00 PM MST (they close at 7:00 PM MST), I called them for a status update. I was told they couldn't get into my phone because it was locked. They also said I didn't leave an alternate phone; I told them I did and the man who checked me in wrote it on a slip of paper. The said they didn't have it. I told them how to get into my phone and asked how long to get it done since they closed so soon. They checked the new phone and told me it needed to be charged (they hadn't done that yet?!!!) and that it would take about 30 minutes to get enough charge on it. I told them I would stop in about 6:30 PM MST as I was going to be down there anyway. When I got there, the phone was still in data transfer stage, but I took it anyway; I was told to keep the phones close together until transfer was complete. After the data transfer, it took me another hour and lots of frustration to complete the process that I expected them to do if they had started in time. Lousy service from AT&T and Assurion. I will cancel my Assurion protection plan! read more

So I'm trying to figure out if this place is a scam or not. Long story short, I brought one item in, which they held on to for 2 weeks because they had to "order parts." No contact from them and I finally go back and ask where its at and it turns out they have it. It doesn't work in the store. Guy tells me it has worked but the battery must have run low. Ok...cool. I take it home and charge it. It doesn't work. I take it back and they tell me "oh, it's not repairable." You think that might have been an important data point to tell me when I picked it up...if not sooner? So prior to the above, I bought into their service plan...more on that in a minute. Before I pick up my item noted at the top, I bring another item in. "Oh we can't service that." Well WTF is you service plan worth? And yes, it was an item their info in the store says they service, but they don't bother to tell you the nuances of what they will or won't service. I guess you find that out after you've coughed up another $25 a month for the service plan. So on to the service plan...god help you if the person in front of you even remotely expresses interest in the service plan ($25 a month). If they do, that's about a 10 minute run down on what it does (fun fact: it doesn't do a lot). If there's more than one person in front of you and they express interest...then it's time to get your lawn chair out because...they only have one guy that comes out to the counter and he launches into the 10 minute dissertation for each customer that expresses interested in the plan. Overall, a completely miserable experience and about an hour of my life between 3 visits that I won't get back. read more

Great experience from the employees there, I just wish it was quicker, and that I received some sort of updates on it. I waited almost 2 weeks to get my laptop back, did not receive a single update while it was in the shop. The wait is fine, I'm sure everyone is working as hard as they can and I'm very appreciative. I have never used a repair service and on a whim I brought my phone here after breaking it the same day. About 4 hours later I got an email saying they were done. I paid $150.00 for an iPhone SE 3rd Gen Screen Repair and they also performed a cleaning and gave me a quality screen protector to go along with it. I was very satisfied. When you get a repair they give you the choice of an OEM screen or an Aftermarket Screen which is completely your choice and the price is different as well. I think it's good they give you that option. I went with an aftermarket screen since my phone is a little older anyways. Works just like OEM screen no problems at all. STAY AWAY! I had an ASUS ROG Gaming Laptop with a broken power port and power supply. They told me needed to buy a replacement power supply. Fine, it was easy enough for me at least, I'd feel bad for someone older. Anyways, they told me to expect a week. What ended up happening was they called me saying they soldered on the wrong port?!? They then asked if I was okay with waiting another two weeks. I was and I did. There was this whole fiasco of going back and forth to the shop to drop off things I wanted to give them in the first place. It took a month. In the end they couldn't fix it. Come to find out after going back to the local repair shop, I thought was too expensive. Apparently Asurion left my laptop in a worse condition than they found it. At least they didn't try to charge me. This location has a reputation for stealing parts, I wouldn't trust this location for anything more than cracked screen. STAY AWAY. And the way Asurion in general tries to push Asurion+ is kind of sleezy. read more

I booked an appt using their website. Got a confirmation text and email. Got 3 more texts about my appt and another email. Arrived at appt a few mins early but the place was closed and locked. Watched several other people arrive to see them (don't know if they had appts or not). Nothing. Called the number on the door, no answer and no voice mail. They may be great at fixing devices, and sending confirmations of appts - but definitely not great about keeping appts. read more

I love this place and bring all my electronics here: dirty phone speakers or ports, broken screens, slow running desktops- they always fix things lightning fast and at a reasonable price. My only complaint is that you will ALWAYS wait to get checked in. Not sure how this place has any good reviews. I took my computer in a month ago for a simply battery change (or so they said) and had horrible service, complete lack of communication. They gave me a date to pick up my computer and it would be repaired. I went and picked up my computer, took it home and it still did not work. I went back down and they admitted that it was never repaired and actually the battery they were supposed to order was never ordered! The manager, Cameron, said he would take full responsibility, overnight the battery and fix it within a week- guess what happened- nothing. They never resolved my problem- just loads of excuses. I then took my computer to Best Buy who immediately told me, it's not a battery issue. ‍ So frustrating. I also was witness to another person who came in to pick up his phone and it wasn't ready. I'm leaving a 4 star but I feel they are very good at what they do but their customer service can use work. I came back because my phone was having issues that it had never had before , I took my phone in for a cracked screen. They fixed it and they had the phone back to me the same day in less than the 2 hours they said it would take. The phone looked great but two days later I started to have problems with my phone that I've never had before. I took the phone back in and felt like I wasn't being helped I was more or less being told that the issue was a common thing with iPhone 7 Plus and felt like I was told to go kick rocks. Well that wasn't the case I was just not informed wIth the correct information. After calling back I spoke to someone who was caring and wanted to help fix the issue. I want to apologize for my previous review. I did what they told me to do and I'm getting the issue resolved. Thank you again for your help. My wife dropped her iPhone in the bathtub. It's an XR. She put it in rice like she's been told to do. Not sure if that really works. Anyway, A grain got stuck in the charging port, naturally. It expanded slightly and stuck to the port. Could not get it out. Called batteries plus and they called but said there was no part and could not be repaired. They didn't ask what the problem was like maybe they could check it out first. I never told them a grain of rice was stuck in the port. I tried uBreakiFix here on power Road. Made an appointment. Walked in, they said they'd take a look. In three minutes the tech came out, had it removed,and said no charge. He could've told Me it needed a new port and he could've charged me some labor time and I offered to pay and would gladly have paid some labor. Iget it, they're not there to do free work. SCAM ALERT- this guy opened and read my wife's phone's SIM card and asked for the screen unlock code. There is no reason for a glass repair work to require removing your SIM card or requiring unlock code after the repair. Even if you do choose to still let him fix your phone never leave your phone unattended while he is working it and pass on his suggestion for you to go shopping while he "fixes" your phone. He will have access to EVERYTHING you have on your phone if you let him get away with this. read more

This is not meant to be a horrible review. But this was my personal experience. I chose UBreakitIfixit based on their overall review rating. I called ahead to make sure that they do what I wanted done to my phone. I took the time needed on the phone to make sure I would not be wasting my time going to the store. I was told to bring the phone in. But could not get a solid answer to my question even though I asked them to ask a tech. I brought my phone in. Which is brand new. I waited twenty minutes to be waited on. While I was waiting there were two people in front of me. One had brought in their phone to have a battery installed in their Galaxy Note 9. They had called ahead and were told they had the battery and that it was set aside for them. She came in and paid for it. But the battery was somehow misplaced and they did not have another one. She told me she had been waiting a long time and was trying to be nice. But had to leave as she did not want to be late for another appointment. The other person had a broken screen. They were going to have to order it for her. At the time I thought nothing of it. Back to my phone. I finally got to speak to a tech. I recognized him as he had saved the data off a hard drive that was sporadically working for me years ago. It was at a different location and I'm not even sure if it was a UBreakitifixit. But I had discussed all the options available at the time and I was just lucky the least expensive one worked. He has a distinctive disability which makes him hard to forget. But he knows his stuff and I trust him with my computer or phone. Anyway, I spoke to him about my phone and he let me know right away that UBreakitifixit is Samsung certified. And that they are prohibited from doing what I had come in for. Nothing that this tech said or did contributed to this negative review. When I came home I read all the negative reviews associated with this location. I recommend that anyone wanting to go to this location read both the good and the bad reviews. And do the same with any company, not just this one. Keep in mind; I'm not saying this is a bad location. This is my only experience with them. If I needed something done and they had the parts needed in stock. I would still consider them. I'm reporting what I know from my very limited experience at this location. read more

This place is a joke. I dropped my device off on December 18th. They called me a few days later to tell me what was wrong. I told them to proceed with making the repair (huge mistake) and they told me they would order the part and it would be there within a day or two. We're now here...January 3rd. Not only is my device NOT fixed but they didn't even bother to order the part for the repair (more on that later). I received a voicemail at 11am where they said they had a question for me regarding my device and to call them back. I attempted to but they had their phones turned off to only take messages (this was DURING business hours, mind you). I kept repeatedly trying to call to reach someone and didn't finally get through until around 12:30p. The phone conversation didn't go well. I was told my device wasn't repaired, the part wasn't ordered and they then proceeded to put the blame on an employee who they said was recently let go (how convenient to put the blame on someone who isn't there to give their side of the story). I told them I no longer wanted them to proceed with the repair and I went and picked up my device. Please, don't use these people. It's a damn joke in there and I'm now starting to wonder if these better reviews are fake. read more

UBreakICANTfix Spend the extra money to get your device repaired somewhere else. Their warranty is worthless and will only end up costing you more time. I will never do business with them again and instead will try another company. My story: Oct 10- iPhone X screen repair at Mesa, AZ while on vacation. FaceID no longer working after repair. Took the device back in for a quick check without a solution found. Asked them to notate account so I could get it checked out when back home in the SF area. Oct ~15: iPhone checked out in Cupertino store, no obvious fix for the item. Touched base again with Mesa store and told to go to Best Buy for repair. Best Buy diagnostic with FaceID issues. Called Mesa to verify that BB repair price ($450) was okay. Told to wait a little for a solution since that was expensive. iPhoneX replacement device eventually mailed to me. Nov 9: Replacement device arrives with same FaceID issue as my broken phone. Nov 11: Mail back the broken replacement phone. In discussion with Mesa store- replacement phone being sent to the Cupertino store for me to exchange. After calling for several days after the item had been received based on shipping tracking, the store said they did not receive a replacement phone. (Side note- I still don't understand what happened here. Was a phone even sent to them?) Nov 25: Spoke with Mesa store, who spoke with Cupertino store and decided to have the Cupertino store try another part replacement. Phone dropped off and then picked up again, still broken. Cupertino told me they tried two different screen replacements without success (Side note- I'm not the expert, but I wouldn't expect that to fix FaceID anyway). Spoke with Mesa store and told that he didn't have a solution yet and that it would take until after the holiday to be sorted out. Waited until after the holiday to follow up again. Dec 4: Mesa store contact unable to talk because in a meeting. No follow-up. Dec 5: After having driven to the Mesa store twice, the Cupertino store twice, Best Buy, and the shipping store, in addition to all the time and small fees (shipping, gas) and without any plan moving forward, I called Corporate. Dec 10: After sending the timeline above, I received this response from Corporate: "I would like a little more information on your device. Did you visit the Best Buy location for a repair? I'm working with the Superstition Store on the possibility of a replacement being sent to a store in the area. Thank you for your continued patience." I responded with the information I had previously supplied. Dec 11: Received this email from Corporate: "I am working with the District Manager of the Superstition Springs location on the possibility of a replacement. I will reach out with another update once I have it. Thank you for your patience." Dec 16: I emailed for an update and received this: "I understand you are not looking to have the device repaired anymore because the previous phone had the same issue. I am working with the District Manager on possible replacements. I will keep you updating going forward." Dec 24: I emailed for an update and received this: "Thank you for your patience. I worked with the District Manager of the store and the resolution is to have you visit the store to have a diagnostic done on the device. If the issues with the repair cannot be fixed we can move forward with the replacement as an option. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns." I responded that I've already taken my phone and dropped it off an additional time after the first issue at Superstition Springs and then two separate times at the Cupertino store. It is clear they are not doing anything about this. I have never posted a Yelp review before, but I decided to post when this issue occurred. I have given them 3 months to fix this without any resolution. I have spent hours running my phone around and contacting them to no avail. I finally just requested the money back on my credit card and am calling it a loss. The screen repair was something like $160, and the FaceID repair will be something like $450, so I've clearly lost in this deal. It's constant disorganization and stalling for time, and I don't have the patience to deal with it anymore. Stay away. read more
