I was trying to find a location to help me recover data off of my Apple airport Time Capsule after Apple Genius Bar wiped my iMac after promising they had transferred all my data onto a portable hard drive I bought from them. Well they did not & 60% of my data was gone. I was devastated for days until my wife suggested a third party repair shop. I reached out to a couple businesses and after speaking to Eric with iFixit, I thought it was worth a try. What did I have to lose? I dropped off my time capsule that apple told me I had completely erased due to holding the reset button in for 10 seconds (they also couldn't pull up any info off of it). They said it requires a network to operate and access the data which they could not do. Well Eric opened the hard drive and was able to directly access the files. I was amazed and so happy. Since the files are scattered he suggested I bring in my iMac and attempt to complete a restore of data which would put the files in the correct location. Eric was right and completely saved my digital life! I am forever grateful to them and his hard work. I was surprised at how reasonable the work cost too. Definitely give them a shot for any data recovery issues you may be facing. They know the "ins and outs". read more

Customer service was not very great not friendly, not welcoming... Didn't say thank you didn't say you're welcome. Didn't make me feel like I was a valued customer. They did the job swapping out the display screen. Good pricing customer service needs a rework entirely. read more

I brought my laptop in for repair due to persistent blue screen crashes during Windows installation and subsequent application instability. Unfortunately, a miscommunication between the initial point of contact and the technicians led to a misguided repair attempt. The technicians, acting on limited information, focused on reinstalling Windows alone, unaware of the deeper underlying issues and wasting everyone's time in the process. This misdiagnosis resulted in a wasted repair attempt. I was charged a $129 fee to retrieve the laptop, despite the repair being unauthorized and unsuccessful. I had to initiate all contact to try and resolve the issues with Tech Bros, leaving me to speak with multiple people, multiple times since they didn't communicate with each other in between - the process was fraught with re-explaining issues, and choosing offered resolutions that weren't valid or were rescinded once accepted (making it feel like I had called a bluff of someone trying to get rid of me). On top of all this, one of the employees I spoke to were often rude on the phone and once or twice put me on long, silent 15-20 minutes holds. The repair shop's disinterest in clear communication with customers and their inability to accurately describe repair methods ultimately led to a frustrating, and time consuming experience. I strongly advise against using this repair shop. Their incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction are completely unacceptable. EDIT: I'm adding some additional info, as this company seems to have put more time into their response to visible criticism than they do for private communication about a client's work order. Some additional background - I am an IT professional of 20 years who had already conducted extensive testing and diagnosis of this machine. Charger provided - Given the ease of producing the issues (ie: Simply installing Windows a few times, using and resetting the BIOS, etc), no more than a 100w charger was deemed necessary. This didn't matter because the company didn't even have that on hand, and I had to be bothered on a day off to drive and hand deliver a common USB-C charger. Post service changes - The "work" that was performed was a misguided single installation of Windows, when the problem definition revolved around the users' ability to install Windows at will. As a company device, a computer must be usable for basic administration tasks. As for settings that were altered, Intel RST, and indeed the entire BIOS settings were wiped as part of prior troubleshooting steps. These are basic troubleshooting tasks I and my associates were qualified to perform prior to consulting your shop, which is why I raised an eyebrow when I was told that was your solution. The mechanic analogy ultimately falls flat on its face, given the client's level of knowledge. It was insisted this was the only way I could be shown what was actually done to the machine, and when I reluctantly accepted, the company couldn't deliver on scheduling anything for over a week out due to "staffing shortages". Offers to "redo work" were rejected given the company's ineptitude and inability to explain what they were even doing. Communication efforts - You ignored the original problem, you didn't ask for authorization to complete any work, you couldn't explain what you supposedly did to address the issue, you imposed longer-than-reasonable hold times, you didn't talk to each other or update the ticket with notes on the portal, leading me to re-explaining the issues over and over. You didn't use basic phone manners. You repeatedly insisted a paid tutorial session was the only way you could explain your process, but when I called your bluff, you ran away, unable to deliver. Complaints of limited information and resources provided is a laugh, as I spent 15-20 minutes walking through the problem and every step taken along the way. I will not be reaching out any further. I have employed a competent repair outlet to service my machine and I recommend anyone else considering this company to do the same. read more

I was very pleased with my PC rebuild done at iFixiTusa in Tempe. I have built computers before, but needed better wire management skills. I added 6 RGB lights and with the clear glass case it looked unbelievable when I cranked it up. I highly recommend them! read more

I brought my tablet into be repaired because asurion told me it was unfixable after giving me the run around for over two weeks. Brought it to techbros. Price was great and service was pretty quick. There was an issue when I got it back and I wasnt able to go back in for a abiut a week ( was afraid that was going tp be a problem) . No problem at all! They went above and beyond to make it right and absolutely no arguing. Set me an sound like a big deal but it feels like in this day and age everybody says not me they did not do that. I used to swear by this place and take all my computers in to get repaired. I've even sent my wife and then my sister in multiple times to pick up newish computers. I bought a used computer in August and then immediately went on vacation for three months. When we tried to use the computer the battery was completely destroyed and would not charge and the computer would not operate unless it was plugged in. When we got back into town three months later I told them that I didn't have time to take it in because I was out of town and that I needed them to fix the battery. They said that the warranty was expired, despite selling me a defective product to begin with. I tried to argue but apparently they don't care about their longtime customers. They were the only ones who could set me up with 2 monitors and could help me tackle problems remotely too.! I've been back with several new computers and old ones for updating. Do yourself and favor and choose ANY other computer repair store but this one! I took in my Mac to have the cracked screen cover replaced and it FELL OFF the very night I took it home -- plus had this gooey goop all around the edges. I took it in the next day and the rude, argumentative manager told me: "that happens a lot - it's a difficult thing to repair" What??! Hey, Tempe Computer Repair Shop: that's why I took it you, I figured you'd know how to fix it: WITHOUT any problems. I was also told they'd credit my card for another repair they didn't even do. Each time I call I've been told "Oh, I'll do that today". But it's now three weeks later, still no credit, so looks like I'm out $280! Not kidding: do NOT use this company. They fixed my first computer almost year ago. Unfortunately with second computer I was given multiple quotes and when I agreed to have them fix it they then replied it would be $100 more because they were out out of stock. When I picked up computer I was still charged $49 even though sign out front says free diagnostic. So I payed and went to another computer store and was told it was easy fix. I can order part and install myself if not bring it by and he'd help no charge. read more
