I never usually rate places for a number of reasons, but I felt that this was necessary due to the terrible service and experience I received at ABC. I took my computer in to get an estimate when I had a failing hard drive and they told me it would be roughly $100 to repair and recover my hard drive. Thinking that was a good deal, I decided to hand over my computer and see what they could do. They did nothing. They recovered a total of 13 files, most of which were just pictures, yet they still charged me $300 for "labor" and a new hard drive that I could have got off of Amazon for $50 and installed myself. Overall, I would not recommend anyone go to ABC. read more

I needed a couple of cables for hooking up a hard drive to a NVR. I went to the big box store at Tempe Marketplace, and after several minutes of searching, they only had one of the two cables. Still needing the second cable, I searched for nearby computer stores. ABC popped up as a computer repair shop, and since it was so close, I decided to give them a call. The guy who answered said they had what I needed, so I headed over. Sure enough, he had a SATA power cable waiting for me when I arrived. If you are looking for a place that is going to charge you a 200% mark up on parts, try and up sell you, and charge you 80 per hr for labor this is the place for you. The guy behind the counter did not even remember to give me back my charger for my laptop, I had to remind him. Instead of helping me recover my password they tried to sell me a data back up and re install of windows. Ridiculously unprofessional, take your business elsewhere. read more

I first discovered this little gem of a place via a google search a few years ago. Boy, am I glad I did. The place itself is more like a closet with a great big couch randomly place along the wall than a regular computer store. And it is located in a weird little industrial park that you'd never see unless you had a specific reason for being there. At ABC Computers you won't find a bunch of computers or parts on display, but what it lacks in appearance, it MORE than makes up for in expertise, super deals, great service and honesty. Every single time I visit, the person working is extremely helpful, understanding, non-judgmental and downright amazing. They have always done a great job repairing my computers without overcharging me. Once when I brought in my daughter's laptop, they assessed it without even charging me. I was floored. They also perform all repairs quickly and I've never had to bring anything back. Moreover, their used computers are top quality. I don't remember the guy's name that helped me, but he was very professional and courteous. Took my desktop and ran a full diagnostic on it overnight, the next day I came in and he told me I had some RAM memory errors. Very good and happy experience. I accidentally spilled water on my mac and it couldn't be turned on. I went the genius bar and they gave me a quote about $4xx-7xx to fix it since they need to do like an inspection to see which part needed to be fixed. I was like nahhh, I am not gonna pay $700 to fix an old mac cuz I rather get a new one. But I still wanna see is there a chance to fix it so that's how I ended up here. My MacBook Pro 17 was got doused with water at my house a while back. After pouring it out, and taking it apart and letting it sit for days, it would still not boot. I contacted a few shops about it, but the standard repair was replace the mother board, which was not an economical decision. I called ABC about it, and brought it to them. they opened it up, pulled out the motherboard, cleaned up any corrosion and got it up and running again, while I was down the street at lunch! After a great deal of internet research, I contacted ABC and couldn't be happier. My main desktop had been hacked and I wasn't sure whether my tablet had also been involved. On the way out the hackers left a nasty surprised by compromising the sign-in screen so that I wouldn't be able to access my current Windows 10 ever again. Andy, the owner, was preparing to extract my data and reinstall Windows 10 (meaning I was going to have to reset up everything Windows 10 - as well as most likely loose a number of older programs that I had on it - while dealing with the Identity Theft). He called me back to say that the new state-of-the-art app he'd been tracking for sign-in issues had just hit the market, he'd picked it up and he was already back into my current Windows 10! Andy was so great. He got both of my units up and running beautifully; for a fee was able to pickup, return, and setup my computers since I wasn't able to get out; and answered my many, many questions without missing a beat. It was clear they were being very considerate with the pricing too. Wrapping this, that, and the other into one hour charges. Jacob, was great too. Computers have just gotten so sophisticated that many of us that were able to keep our computers up and running in the past, just aren't up to it anymore - ok, or maybe it's age. Excellent computer repair store. I was referred by a colleague and now I'm referring ABC to everyone. I brought in my PC and they had the issue diagnosed before I left (power supply was dead) and had it fixed within an hour. Not only are they quick and efficient, the bill was extremely reasonable at $79 ($54 for parts and $25 for labor). They don't charge for a diagnosis if you get it repaired there and only $25/hr bench time. Also, they suggested several FREE virus protect programs and didn't try to upsell us on anything.
