So it's only been one day since I got the laptop, but I'll definitely log back in if it bursts into flames or something. What a great place. Dealt with Jack almost exclusively- knowledgable, helpful, and professional both on the phone and in person. In short, I needed a MacBook Pro for music/film work and looked around town for a good place to start. Went to a few places with less than solid results- expensive and prices change every few minutes if you speak with the wrong people. Found AmpleBay and swung by. Jack had me set up within minutes. A hard drive swap and few minutes later and I was out the door. More importantly, the laptop is in near-perfect condition with specs I couldn't find online or in person at the price Jack quoted. Went to this place to see their merchandise, and saw their iPad selection. Nice prices, picked up an iPad mini 2, very good shape. Everything here that I've seen is in like new condition, and very well maintained. If I get any other hardware, the first place I'm coming is to this place. I was in desperate need of a laptop to pursue my blogging and social media dreams. (Ya feel me, Millennials?!) When I found Ample Bays amazing online deals, my dad offered to get me a MacBook Air for my birthday. I told him I thought it was a little too good to be true and had to check out the selection in person. Welp- they were as good as they said online. They have a grading system for appearance (A- great, B-couple scratches, etc). In my opinion, they are hard on themselves. I saw what they would grade a C and they looked great to me! I walked away with a fast MacBook Air and I'm in love! I invested in the 2 year warranty that covers everything- except loss or theft. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and didn't try to oversell me. (Even though they could have...I'm kind of a sucker. ;-)) The place has a family feel and I'll be back for future purchases! read more

I've been meaning to give Rich and company this review for over a month now, but better late than never. If you have a iPhone, a mac compy, tablet, or anything... GO HERE!! Pretty much everything you could want in a company, in service and in straightforward honesty are here. And i'm certainly a tough critic on all those. What they did for me was update my older macbook pro 15". New operating system, and added hard drive. They were able to do it in just a couple days. (GYI the other places won't give you a timeline and are generally 3-5 ties more expensive). I also had them replace my screen on it that was going out. So all in all the lil' compy got a makeover for under a couple hundred bucks. AND Rich discounted it more than he quoted me on the phone. Later I found out I need to go back and get some RAM added and Rich dropped in it on the spot within ten mins and I was on my way. Listen!! I can't tell you enough. If you appreciate good people, new local business that deserves your money and you get what you want in return in all those things I listed. Bring whatever you have that ails you. We bought a laptop at Ample Bay. After one day, it didn't work, and I couldn't determine if it was the charger or laptop. (the computer was not compatible with any chargers I had at home). I called and asked them to send me a new charger (we live 150 miles away), five days went by and no charger, with no one returning my calls. Finally after a week (and by then my return warranty had run out) they sent me a charger but it was the wrong one. Called again for another charger (again didn't know if it was the computer or charger), no supervisor returned my calls. Finally an associate contacted me and I asked for an extension on the 7 day warranty. I was told no way. And they insisted I needed to send them pictures of the chargers that didn't work.... well you get the idea.... terrible customer service, no backing up of products they sell. I had to buy my own charger (out another $50) thankfully it was the problem and not the computer. I don't recommend these folks they seem to be in the business for the short haul.... no customer service skills or interest in retaining existing customers. read more

I decided I needed a Macbook Pro 13" for business presentations for my video production business, and also to do mobile video editing. I thought I would need to visit 3 stores to see who had the best price on a refurbished Macbook Pro. Ample Macs was the first place I went to to check inventory and prices. Not only did they have the exact configuration that I wanted, but they had a great price as well. They even offered an upgrade at a really low price to seal the deal. I bought my new laptop on the spot, and they saved me driving all over town. Even some of the other stores buy their inventory from Amplemacs. I have now had three absolute failures with Ample Bay products. I purchased and returned a Macbook Air last summer. Decided to try again with a Macbook Air for my wife in November...it beach balled and froze constantly from day 1. 4 months later, it is receiving a new hard drive from someone else (Ample Bay would not cover, even though problem had been present since purchase). My biggest complaint centers on my own Macbook Pro, purchased from Apple in 2010. It has been flawless...at least until I allowed Ample Bay to "upgrade" my hard drive. I took it back into them for service after the infamous question mark folder appeared as it froze, at which point they "guaranteed" me the problem was my hard drive and that it was no longer under warranty. Instead of paying them another $300, I took it to another Mac repair shop. Turns out is was a $30 internal chord and not the hard drive. Ample Bay has proven again and again that their products are just not up to the standards that we all expect from Apple products. They are nice guys, but I believe they are using sub-par materials and the techs are not as knowledgeable/capable as we all deserve. read more
