I came in today because I thought I needed my battery replaced on my laptop. Enrique, (I believe is his name) was so nice and I appreciate him cleaning my charging ports since that was the issue. I actually went to Apple a week ago and they wanted to charge me a flat rate of $400. I thought that was really nice that he cleaned my ports instead of just charging me for new ones. I cannot thank Enrique enough for the incredible work he did with my iPhone repair! I have an iPhone 12 mini that mysteriously stopped responding to touch with no previous issues, and as a result I was not able connect and backup my phone to my computer. Apple said they could only attempt to repair after deleting all of the phone's data. Enrique was a magician, and was able to replace the screen without damaging, corrupting, or losing any data, and the phone now responds to touch like it did prior to the new issues I was having. He was also able to return the phone the same day to me that I dropped it off, and was extremely friendly and understanding of my concerns with my phone issues! I will be coming back here for all my Apple products needs in the future- Enrique saved me when I had lost hope and was extremely stressed out that I was going to lose all of my data. I was having a problem charging my iPad and he initially gave me a very honest quote, a range of what it might cost to replace the port and/or replace the port board. I was able to bring it by and he looked at it, played around with a little bit and cleaned the port. Turns out it was just dirty. He saved me a bunch of money and I really appreciate it. Enrique helped me a lot this week! My home was destroyed in a fire and my laptop and son's iPad were destroyed in my mind. I took it to other places and they told me that it's better for me to just buy a new one. But that did not stop me . Five stars is an understatement for how pleased I am with the overall experience with Mac Repair Phoenix!! I have an older working laptop (was on a very old Windows operating system) and wanted to upgrade to a more current Windows operating system to improve the functionality in case I can find a place where it would be an acceptable donation. When I sent a Yelp inquiry, I received a very timely and detailed response from Enrique to solve my problem. Enrique repaired my MacBook Pro. My computer was booting up to a black screen after I replaced the battery. I suspect that the problem was with the motherboard and tackling it was beyond a DIY project. While the computer was in the shop, Enrique discovered that some of the keys on the keyboard were broken. Today, Enrique restored my faith in humanity. This was the best experience I've had with any business in at least multiple months (probably longer). 5 stars is an INCREDIBLE understatement. But... why was I needing to see Enrique in the first place? A liquid spill on a MacBook. Only a couple of ounces of water hit the computer... but it was enough to immediately kill the computer and send me into a panic looking up how to minimize the damage. *** Note: In case you also are in this position, dry the computer off, cut the power, turn your computer upside down to drain the water and DO NOT turn it back on until the inside of the computer is completely dry (internet recommends 48 hours to make sure). *** end note Anyway, after a nightmare situation with Apple tech support where they were not only useless but also took 30 minutes of wait time to say absolutely nothing, I was able to get a same day appointment in an Apple Store 45 minutes away... which ended up being actually worse than the useless people at tech support. Apple Store Genius lady was nice enough, but she quotes $750 to fix the computer (or a new one for ~ $1000) because apparently there is heavy water damage to my Logic board, Battery, airport etc. Sounds like my computer is totally screwed... and as I get home I am wondering whether I really do need a laptop at all even though I am on this thing at least 10 hours a day for work etc. On a whim I hit my laptop's power button... and my computer turns on. I'd had the Genius lady remove the storage so I get an error message... but the thing powers up and it's obviously trying to come back to life. Hmmm. Maybe time for a second opinion... Enter Mac Repair Phoenix. Enrique works in a small office in a co-working space downtown, when I came in I saw quite a few fancy looking tools... more importantly, a small business owner who seemed like he was hustling the right way. Told him what happened and absolutely no drama, Enrique then opened up my machine right in front of me and showed me... well, he showed me my computer had very little damage at all, actually. He did a thorough job cleaning, even finding some damage on the other side of the machine, probably due to something else (maybe another spill I'd forgotten about). Anyway he charged $50 for the whole thing (obviously I paid him a well deserved large tip) -- in a nice touch, before he sent the computer back he tested all the keyboard keys to make sure they all worked correctly (they did). So, I was on my way... and now I am home, typing this Yelp review on the very machine that apparently needed (still needs?) $750 of help. In summary, Enrique is much more qualified than the "Geniuses" at Apple, and unlike them, he does his job with integrity. He also can fix PCs, phones, gaming systems, iPads etc. I will absolutely see him again if needed and if you are still reading this review I would humbly request you not only see him if needed, but afterward tell everyone you know about him because I'm sure you will want to. I sent an email concerning a battery replacement to Mac Repair Phoenix and received a message back shortly thereafter. They requested my serial number and I sent it immediately. They ordered a new battery for my 2012 Mac and let me know it was scheduled for delivery on the following Monday. On Wednesday, I sent a request for an appointment but was told to come in any time they were open. It would take about 30 minutes to replace. I showed up around 11 am on Thursday and my Mac was back in my hands by 11:30a. Excellent service!!! So happy to have a Mac that doesn't need to be constantly plugged in. I highly recommend. Don't even waste your time going to apple go to Mac Repair instead! I was having keyboard issues with my MacBook Pro. I went to apple on 3 different occasions the first time apple said I just had a faulty key nothing to worry about then the problem progressively got worse so I went back to apple and said they needed to run diagnostic test so 2 days later apple said no hardware problems and recommended reinstalling macOS still had the same problem after and apple said it's most likely water damage and that it would cost around $1000 to fix or $400 if it was the keyboard it's my self and said I should just buy a new MacBook. I was very discouraged. On a last effort I took it to Enrique and he diagnosed the problem with in the first 5min. It ended up only costing $160 for a keyboard replacement with parts and labor included as well. Hands down he's the best in the valley with the best prices with no catches whatsoever. read more
