Pad Thai chicken with extra sauce.
    Ben C.

This is one of the best orders of Pad Thai Chicken I've had. Anywhere. The place is very clean, service is friendly and fast, and prices are reasonable! The only thing I could not-pick about is the spring roll was crispy outside, but wasn't really warm and was a bit mushy in the middle. Overall, I highly recommend Thaitanic Kitchen's Pad Thai.

    My jasmine tea

I had a pot of tea and fishcakes on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was immediate and I had a delicious pot of hot tea to sip while deciding what to eat. I chose the fish cakes , thinking they'd be pompano based etc They were small fish cakes that reminded me of Korean fish cakes. Very homogenized but when eaten with the sweet cucumber salad and hot chili oil, well I was all in. They were very good. There's about ten tables, and the parking lot is curtained off with a gauze that allows light but keeps it cozy. The mural on the wall is turquoise and black, keeping the color scheme . It is immaculate and smells wonderfully clean. I will be back for more offerings!

    Filet Mignon Pho

I wanted to try out Thaitanic Kitchen because it's located in the same plaza as my favorite Indian restaurant; and the past few times I've driven past it, there always seems to be a lot of cars parked out front. It is an aesthetically pleasing--simple, cute, clean Thai-Vietnamese restaurant. I also wanted to try it out because it's AWESOME to be able to order both Thai and Vietnamese food at the same restaurant! It felt like a small mom and pops type establishment; I believe that the owners (a husband & wife) likely greeted me, took my order, and brought out the Filet Mignon Pho--their service was very prompt. The nice couple that took care of me were very sweet. They continually checked on me and made sure I always had plenty of water; so I loved the service! But I was also the only one in the small restaurant when I ordered on a rainy Sunday night around 7pm. By the time I left; it was a full house. The Filet Mignon Pho was excellent--the filet was very tender and the broth was delicious! Plus, I thought $14 for a large bowl of filet mignon pho was reasonable given that it's in-line with prices from other Pho restaurants that serve Filet Mignon Pho. In case you don't know, a lot of Vietnamese restaurants don't serve "Filet Mignon" Pho. It was prepared perfectly here--the tenderloin falling apart in the soup broth. I really liked the fact that they cut up the noodles too, so it was really easy to eat just using your Pho spoon. I would highly recommend Thaitanic Kitchen to others, and I will definitely be back because that Filet Mignon Pho really won me over!

Pad Kee Mao with chicken (hot spicy level)
    Mehul M.

Small cozy Thai restaurant with a large amount of really good food options and a lunch special. Service Jhakaas Entertainment quick and the food tastes great l. I've gotten their drunken noodles (pad kee mao) and the Khao Soi and it's really good each time. They can make it to your spice level and I've found mine to be a level 3 because the 4 was too much. The Thai iced tea was also really good and didn't come in a small glass or overfilled with ice.

    Thai Fried Rice with shrimp

Service was standard! Placed a take our order! The rice lacked flavor and the fresh shrimp roll was very fishy! Needless to say I won't be back! I'm so said 8282Food closed they had the most perfect rice! Fresh Shrimp Roll 1 star Thai Shrimp Fried Rice 2 1/2 stars

    Thx G.

Rich and flavorful beef noodle soup with tender beef. The restaurant is airy and the service is attentive.

    Shrimp in tamarind sauce!
    Kira D.

3 stars for my first visit only because I probably didn't get a true viet dish. My tamarind shrimp dish was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I didn't enjoy having to pick off the shell & removing the poopy shrimp spine, but the flavor was better than I expected! Surprisingly, they have a lot of snail dishes! I'm pretty sure it's their specialty, but alas, u won't find any snails in my body! ***Gag face*** U won't find me hurrying to get back here, but I'd definitely come back to try a non-snail viet dish from them!!

The pho was very flavorful and reasonably priced. However our spring rolls, cha gio was bit over fried. I would comeback just for the pho.

    Do they use MSG?

I'm allergic to MSG and I wasn't reacted to the beef noodle broth. So it's fair to say the msg amount wasn't significant if there is any.

The space itself is small, but the interior is surprisingly aesthetic and cozy, which makes it feel intentional rather than cramped. I usually gravitate toward the green curry, which hits that perfect balance of creamy, aromatic, and spicy without overpowering everything else on the plate. The flavors are bold but still refined, and nothing tastes muddy. The tom yum is another standout for me. It's bright, tangy, and comforting all at once, with layers of flavor that really pop. Even the side dishes shine. I'm a big fan of the chicken wings and skewers. They're seasoned well, cooked perfectly, and never feel like an afterthought. What really elevates the experience is how balanced yet distinctive everything tastes. Each dish stands out on its own, but the overall flavor profile feels cohesive. Service is always attentive, and the staff is consistently smiling and welcoming, which makes the wait feel easier. I also love that it's BYOB. It makes it super easy to enjoy a relaxed night, especially when I'm just snacking on appetizers with my own drinks. Sala Thai is a gem.

The staff here are so kind it really made the experience of having to wait a bit so much better! The gentleman at the front door recommended a wine bar around the corner to wait at after we got on the list, which was a cute divey spot. The food was delicious, we loved the papaya salad so much, there were so many flavors of spicy and tangy, and the papaya itself was very refreshing. We had the Pad kee mao and Panang curry which were also delicious. For the chicken pad kee mao we requested it to be gluten free and they gave us the same rice noodles as the Pad Thai and a slightly different sauce which was so darn good! The chicken was very tender. When the Panang curry said it came with beef, I didn't know what to think but after a single bite I was a huge fan! So many flavors hit you at once and the beef was so incredible, it was falling part. I also ordered the savory cocktail option (I can't remember the name) which had cucumber vodka, fish sauce, mint, onion, and some other goodies, and wow! It changed my life. Highly highly recommend. Overall would definitely come back here, we were a walk in on a Saturday night and had an hour and a half wait to get in.

Being at Mekong Plaza on…read moreNew Year's Day around lunch time, it seemed impossible snagging a parking spot so we decided to go somewhere else. Looking at nearby Thai restaurants, we ventured to Tempe to give our second option a try only to find them closed for the holiday. I see Smile wasn't too far from where we were at so we decided to give them a go. Why not try something new in the new year? We were greeted as soon as we walked in, the host/server was welcoming and provided great service the entire time. We ordered their Thai tea, crab wontons and spring rolls for our drinks and appetizers. They were crispy fried and so delicious. The appetizers come with a standard sweet chili dipping sauce. For my entree I ordered their chicken bbq with a side of fried rice. My friend ordered chicken red curry. For dessert, we ordered their Thai custard sticky rice and the mango sticky rice. Wow! All I can say is, what a great experience! We were so impressed with the food that I think this is our new spot. We'll tell our friends and family to give this restaurant a try.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more Smile Thai Cuisine 2107 S. Rural Road Tempe, 85282 I last visited this restaurant more than 10 years ago, so it was time for a new review. Upon entering I immediately noticed that the inside has totally changed. The entrance seems to be filled with a bar and a cash register and the tables have moved to the side. We started off with an appetizer of chicken satay. Long thin strips of chicken threaded onto skewers and served with a peanut sauce. It was a tasty dish though a bit difficult to get off the wooden skewers. For companions main course, ordered was pork cashew nuts. The dish had a melange of vegetables in a chile/garlic sauce. Companion enjoyed it be was unable to finish the dish because the portion was large. I ordered duck curry. I asked for it to be spicy, but unfortunately it was anything but that. The sauce was thin and without body and had an assortment of veggies in it along with some duck. At the bottom of the bowl I found a leg of duck. The dish was served with white rice which I promptly added to the sauce in an attempt to soak up some of it, but alas, it was to no avail. For drinks, we both ordered Thai Tea, which was properly made. It is served in tall jars, and neither of us could drink it all. If you have real Thai food that is Thai hot, Thai Tea will get rid of the heat on your palate in less than a minute. Cleanliness is a bit of a question, as our table had some old food encrusted on the edge. 3 Stars
