I arrived first and when I was asked how many people and didn't know, the hostess/server gave me a dirty look. Well this large group all got their food and I was the last one to be served and only was served when I looked at her for my food. I hope she doesn't do anything to my credit card. Overall this was a very good lunch. We try lots of Thai places and although I won't say it was better than our usual spots - it was good. Clean establishment serving HUGE portions. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and hubby got the Thai Fried Rice with Beef. Spice level was perfect at 2 (medium) and tons of chicken. Very tasty and delicious. I skipped the bean sprouts and tofu and they put lots of green onions in there. Very enjoyable. Hubby loved his rice. It had lots of veggies and he said it was moist and tasty. You will leave here with a Togo box because they give you so much food. Stopped in here on a recent Monday after working up an appetite at nearby Pickleball Kingdom with my daughter... I love Thai food! Anytime I'm craving something, it's usually this type of cuisine or Indian. I found this spot close to the show we had tickets for, and we met for dinner around 645 on a Friday. Fairly busy as we entered with a big group waiting on their takeout. We were seated and I could see how busy the servers were. We got our waters and put in our orders. I went with the drunken noodles with tofu, spice level 4/5. My table got massaman curry (3/5), panang curry (3/5), and spicy basil (4/5), all with chicken. I loved my dish; lots of flavor, tasty tofu, and solid spice level. I liked the other dishes I sampled as well. The portion sizes were large and most of us had leftovers for the next day. I moved out of state 4 years ago but when I get in town its a must to eat at your location for my entire stay (yellow curry for me, chicken wonton , coconut shrimp& steamed rice for the kids). Lately, you have a lady ( not quite sure if she's a gang member from new york; such a fast talker) keeps asking for full credit card info over the phone without any encryption. Triples times, I told her I'll pay at pickup and confirm my name with Koon. Yesterday, she tried the same 'trick' over the phone and I repeated the verbiage and confirm with Koon. She says Koon doesn't know me. I drove over and she acted like nothing happened and just wanted my card info. After 20mins waiting, she rug up thefood and I paid debit. I asked for Koon again and she stated the latter was busy and can't see me. I tried calling today to see if I can talk to Mike or Koon and my number has been blocked by the lady. Multiple times my wife and I made small polite requests only to be ignored where he would just walk away leaving us unsure if we were being heard. About a year ago I was trying to order the rice rolls but asked if I could get 2 instead of 3, they are huge and i was ordering other items. I was telling a couple ladies I know about this and they had a story that made my stomach turn. they had been served FOOD WITH BUGS in it and the same person told her she put them in there so she could get free food, she actually CHASED HER out of the restaurant yelling and taking pictures and threating to call the police... Who acts like that??? that comes to a visit a month or so ago where we ordered food and as my wife traveled to pick it up had a fender bender and had to stay on the scene for info exchange, etc. so, I called them to let them know, the same lady started yelling at me accusing me of calling the wrong place. I said no, she's been in an accident, and it will be a while before she could get there. She started yelling at me an accusing me of placing our order somewhere else. So a couple nights ago I called to place an order and was hung up on with no answer, i called back and was once again hung up on. The food and service were good until a live roach climbed out of my MIL's appetizer platter salad, which she had been eating from. My husband asked the waitress to remove the plate from our bill, but they did not. They offered 50% off the appetizer (because we ate some of the food) and claimed we had been there too long, which is the reason bugs were appearing in our food. We were there an hour total, so I guess they don't want people hanging around to see their poor business practices. I feel there was some language barrier, because when we told her we would not pay for any food a bug had been crawling on, the manager became upset and claimed she was calling the police and went outside and started taking pictures of license plates. VERY BAD BEHAVIOR. Bad customer service. Bad hiring. I really wish there were negative stars for businesses. The male server today, helping us, did not like to respond or speak or give any emotion. I used to be in the food and beverage industry, myself, and I knew exactly how to conduct myself and what was expected. It seems they need more training or they need some kind of developmental program for the kind of service they are giving.. I remained kind throughout the entire visit, even when he didn't respond to my questions, but would just walk away, I would say thank you. My husband, said wow that makes me not even wanna say thank you, and I said I think it's proper to still continue to be kind and be myself. My last request I said can I get another water please? And he walked away. I asked my husband do you think he heard me? Then he came back and poured me a glass of water and walked away. And I said thank you. He didn't look at me or say anything. So when we left, we gave zero tip. With earbuds in his ears, and no verbal or nonverbal responses, we believed there was no tip to be deserved or expected. When we left, can you believe, he had the audacity when we were in our cars facing the restaurant to hold up the receipt, give the middle finger, and laugh and make gestures. So I walked in and I called over the manager/owner, and the owner said well I have to hear his side. That's all that was said. I find to be very unacceptable and unprofessional and clearly leadership is failed. If I was owner, I would be absolutely sure to apologize to the customer and say I will have a talk with him and that is unacceptable. We have came here for a long time, and will no longer be returning and will never recommend this business and if anything, I will highly speak against it and not recommend after this kind of treatment and behavior. There was an opportunity for the owner to make things right as well, but he failed drastically.. If people have the role of a server and customer service, they need to maintain certain behaviors, understand their role, be kind and friendly and responsive. Those are bare minimal expectations. To get a tip that says zero, means you need to rethink your behavior and not start acting immature and mouthing off to a pregnant woman and her husband through the window. Had Thai Delight bookmarked in Yelp for quite a while and we were finally in the area. We arrived at 11:15 and the place was empty. A couple of to-go orders came and went. The restaurant, including the restrooms, were spotless and they played Spotify type casual music. We ordered a La carte and got Beef Pad Thai, Yellow Curry Chicken and Beef Larb. In all, it came to $42.35. That was a good price. Since it was lunchtime, our server brought us Egg Drop Soup. The broth was incredible: savory with lemongrass undertones. Our lunch arrived in 20 mins, which was a bit long considering we were the only ones there and all of the to-go orders came after us. The Larb, a salad that we consider an appetizer, was loaded with cilantro. It had great texture but we missed the lettuce leaves on the side. They served it with chopped salad underneath. The curry dish, my wife's favorite, was outstanding. Plenty of chicken and veggies cut into smaller pieces, which doesn't happen at other Thai restaurants. Great curry flavor. The Pad Thai, always my favorite, was disappointing. It was more sweet than spicy. We had asked for medium heat but got none of that. It was also missing the signature tamarind taste. Always on the lookout for thai when on the phoenix area, we decided on this for lunch. We ordered the calamari and beef pad thai. We had intended for the the calamari to come out first as an appetizer, but they came out more or less at the same time. That being said, the calamari rings were incredibly crispy and not at all chewy. The vinegar (?) sauce was a perfect addition. Portion size was good. Hubby ordered beef pad thai, as always, 5 star extra thai hot spicy and was NOT disappointed. The flavors were good and melded together perfectly. It was extremely hot, as expected, but nothing he couldn't handle. We were both also pleasantly surprised by a complimentary scoop of coconut pineapple (maybe?) Ice cream. Only issue seemed to be they only had one front of house employee and he seemed to be run ragged. Took a while to get water refills. read more

My Thai Delight Experience after reviewing so many Thai Spots and eating at countless more, ranks in the middle on my list. The curry and the fried rice was up to par, however, if they could perhaps lighten up with the added sugar that would not only be more authentic it would be more healthy. This seems to be a common trait among many Thai restaurants here in America when in comparison with the restaurants in Thailand. I guess they think Americans like sugar... wonder where they got idea? My review has been 5 stars for ages ... after today, it goes to 1 star. Not sure if there is new management or ownership. I ordered via Yelp, as I have dozens or even hundreds of times. I ordered on of my usuals, Spicy Basil with Ground Chicken, but asked to substitute veggies for rice (first tie doing that). They modified the order, added $3. I never got any extra veggies. I was expecting a side of steamed veggies, especially given the uncharge - but nope. Just the bowl of meat, veggies and water. The bowl was about 7"x 2.5" and was at least 40% water with some spicy oils swirling around. The guy at pickup looked at me when I walked in, and said nothing. I said I had an online order for Chris. He repeated my name, handed it to me and turned and walked away, while saying have a nice day. No, "do you need any sauces?", etc. Mind you, this was a $25 bowl of water with some ground chicken, peppers and onions. I only wish I had taken a picture. I cannot tell you how many times I've been there in the past and never had anything except exceptional food and friendly service. I've recommended the race to literally dozens, if not more. The food was great! I would say it's the best Thai I have had in Ahwatukee. We had 3 different lunch dishes Vegetable Delight with chicken, noodles with beef, Orange Chicken and all were delicious. This is a great find. I was craving good Thai food and came across this place. I would most definitely be returning later. This is a small restaurant with many good options to eat. To my surprise at lunch time (12pm) they had a soup and salad set up for you to eat before your meal. The soup was very good and had tofu. The salad had a wonderful homemade dressing that was sweet and slightly spicy. I really enjoyed the flavor on my salad. I love that this place does custom heat for each plate ordered! They go from 1 through 5 and it is true to that heat scale. They have really good Thai tea. It is a big glass with ice and perfectly sweetened for my taste. I ordered garlic and pepper that comes with an optional meat. I decided to go with beef this time. It was soooooooo good! We have been loyal customers for about five years. Unfortunately, the recent price increase no longer correlates with the quality of the food. We understand that inflation has made the prices go up everywhere, but they have increased the protein charge from one dollar to four dollars. The base price for entrees has also increased. We are now paying five dollars more for chewy, cheap chicken, or five pieces of shrimp for the entire entree. We sadly will be taking a break from eating here. read more

When trying a restaurant for the first time I have a habit of ordering "go-to" dishes for each type of cuisine that I thereby use to gauge the overall cooking skills of the chefs and tastiness of the food... i.e., Parmesan chicken for Italian, Shredded beef tacos/beans & rice for Mexican, Tikka Masala, Vindaloo and Garlic Naan for Indian, etc. It's a habit I've picked up over the years but the basic premise is this: If the cuisines staples they produce are not very good, then you can kind of tell it may not be worthwhile going back. Anyway, when trying a new Thai restaurant, it's usually Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup that I use to gauge the restaurant as a whole. I know, how unadventurous and white of me. This order came exactly as expected. It was packaged well, the spice levels were exactly as ordered, and I was very satisfied with my meal. There was enough pad thai for me to keep enjoying the meal the next few days too. The chicken, noodles and vegetable ingredients were all high quality and tasty. The tofu in the pad thai was fried and crispy (or meant to be anyway, the process of delivery kind of makes them a bit soggy but I imagine in-person at the restaurant it's stellar). I really really enjoyed the Tom Kha soup as well. Just absolute perfection with the right amount of lemongrass and good cuts of beef. I've found that restaurants tend to put lower quality cuts of meat in soups that you wind up gnawing your way through because they are chewy, or you have to indelicately remove bits of gristle while eating? Not with this soup. It was all really satisfying and delicious, and I found myself enjoying each bite as they had generous amounts of high quality cuts of beef. Very happy with my order, would order from here again and again. Also, as I tend to do, I am giving points for the containers. They are hardy and reusable.
