This is a great find. I was craving good Thai food and came across this place. I would most definitely be returning later. This is a small restaurant with many good options to eat. To my surprise at lunch time (12pm) they had a soup and salad set up for you to eat before your meal. The soup was very good and had tofu. The salad had a wonderful homemade dressing that was sweet and slightly spicy. I really enjoyed the flavor on my salad. I love that this place does custom heat for each plate ordered! They go from 1 through 5 and it is true to that heat scale. They have really good Thai tea. It is a big glass with ice and perfectly sweetened for my taste. I ordered garlic and pepper that comes with an optional meat. I decided to go with beef this time. It was soooooooo good! I was happy with a heat level 3 since I don't eat too much spice but do like a kick. Oh! Forgot to mention the plate comes with a roll and rice. We did take out 1/16/24. We had the Hawaiian Beef and the Pad Thai. Both were ordered spice level 3. This was simply the best Pad Thai we have had since moving to Phoenix from Chicago. The Hawaiian beef was something I have never tried before but it was wonderful. We really like spicy food and 3 was about right for us. We both eat hot peppers regularly. If you don't want to feel the burn I would order it at Thai level 1. I liked how they had the peanut pieces in a small container on the side that could be added when you get home. That's great for people with allergies. As I was picking it up they were very friendly and it looked like a great atmosphere. It's smelled amazing immediately when I opened the door. I couldn't have enjoyed our experience more. We will be back to dine in next time! 10 stars if I could. read more

Last time we order from this place!!! Had a ridiculous run in with the owner in the past, but let it go. The food is usually really good and we order often. Tonight, we placed a to go order. One dish was ordered hot, one medium and mine was to be mild. Both my husband and son like hot. They both felt their dishes were spicier than normal. I could not even eat mine. It was not mild... it was way too spicy. Obviously the chef was too heavy on the spice tonight. I called up to the restaurant and explained. I asked if I ran my meal back in if they wouldn't mind making me a replacement meal and to make sure that it was mild. The girl I talked to refused and said that I would have to let them "look at" my meal first and I would have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for a new meal to be made. So I showed up with my meal and they took it back in the kitchen. The owner came back out and told me that my meal was mild spice. I told him that this is the meal that I typically get and it's never this spicy. He insisted that it was mild. I asked how he knew and he said they tasted my food. That's pretty gross considering I ate out of it. To make a long story short, he refused to give me a refund, and he insisted that if they remake my meal, it would be the exact same spice. How ridiculous is this? Like you can't remake the meal with no spice or very minimal spice? I have never met a business owner so rude in my entire life and this is the second time we have had a run in with him. He has poor customer service, and it's pretty pathetic that he can't remake a meal especially after I came all the way back down there. And, again, I really cannot believe they ate out of my meal and tasted it. Anyways, we will never order from this restaurant again and you should think about it too before you order from here. If you order mild and you cannot eat it... it's not mild, especially when you've had this same dish a good number of times. When I told the owner that, his response was "I don't recognize you." For many years this has been my favorite restaurant! It has been sometime though since I was there, probably about a year. Yesterday I went and was disappointed. Food was ok, still pretty good but nothing like it used to be! I used to dream about how good the food was! We have now enjoyed this restaurant for four different visits. Every time we have gone, the restaurant is very clean including the bathrooms. The lunch menu is an extremely good value. The portions are huge! Dinner is even bigger. We have tried several things on the menu between my kids and I. Everything has been very good and fresh. Our favorite appetizer is the crab puffs and steamed edamame. My favorite entrée is hard to call because everything has been so delicious. Items we have enjoyed include pepper and garlic with vegetables, number 7 on the lunch menu, ginger with vegetables, orange chicken and more. The service is fairly quick. I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for 3 years, but am disappointed to say that the food quality and service has been declining dramatically for the past year. It has been chronically understaffed (which I understand), however, our experience last night was unacceptable. I am no longer recommending this restaurant. Last night, two friends and I went to Thai Delight for dinner. I ordered my usual Pineapple Fried Rice, mild spiciness (2). When the food was brought out, my dinner was so spicy that I could not eat it. I took 2 bites and it was not edible due to the extreme spiciness. My two guests took a bite each and concurred. Mistakes happen, so I informed the waitress, and she went to the kitchen. When she returned, she stated that they could not remake the plate. I would have to place an additional (new) order if I wanted the plate remade. I asked to speak to Mike, the owner, who I had seen earlier in the kitchen. The waitress went back to the kitchen, and when she returned she stated "Mike is not here." I called her bluff and told her I could see Mike in the kitchen. She replied "I am very sorry, but he does not want to talk to any customers." I settled the bill, tipped the waitress, and informed her that I would never return to this restaurant again. This was my first meal near my new home. It was amazing. Upon entering you're greeted with a warm welcome and the feeling lasts throughout the experience. There are so many great choices to choose from which means more than one visit is needed for this place. I ended up getting the ginger beef spicy level 2. This dish is so good. If you're a ginger lover, you'll thoroughly enjoy this dish. There was fresh ginger all throughout the dish. It also came with rice. Also got the Hawaiian beef. This dish was flavorful and filled with sweet chunks of pineapple throughout. Lastly, there was a surprise treat at the end. Complimentary coconut ice cream. Wow. What a nice touch. Yummy Thai food in Ahwatukee, been coming here for about 6 years. We enjoy the green and red curry dishes with tofu, the Tom Yum with chicken, and the drunken noodles. The complementary ice cream when you dine in for dinner is a nice treat. They do get very busy and seating has become more limited post Covid - I think they get a lot more Door Dashers, Grub Hub, etc takeout orders now. Ambiance is okay, not bad (it feels smaller in there now) but we go for the food. It's better than most Thai places around Chandler for ease, portion size and consistency. read more

This is our favorite Thai restaurant in Ahwatukee. Why? We've made it a mission to eat-at and rate all Thai restaurants in and around Ahwatukee. Now, we've primarily "taken-out" so we can't always rate atmosphere or service, but we definitely have a string handle on the food. This place is the best in the area. Why? And why only 4 stars? Read on. Food: The food is excellent. Extremely large portions, very well spiced and heat appropriate. Super flavorful (this is huge for me, it is not bland or boring, and not mainstream blah-Thai like other restaurants), authentic and fresh with appropriate seasonings. Price is about the same as every other Thai restaurant in the area, give or take a dollar or two. Because of the size, we always get two meals out of each entrée, this is great. Although we haven't eaten on-site, when we go inside to pick up, it's easy to see that the atmosphere is very nice. It's modern and clean and spacious and comfortable. So, why only 4 stars? Each time we've ordered take out over the phone from Thai Delight, the time is *always* longer than what they quote, not by a couple minutes, usually by 15 to 20 minutes, which means, the food takes approximately 40 minutes to be ready. This wouldn't be a huge issue if that's what you're told up front, but when you're told "20 minutes" and you show up 20 minutes later, then wait another 20 minutes, consistently, that can get a bit frustrating. Fortunately, after the first bite or two, it's so good that the frustration dissipates. This could be easily addressed and made better with an apology or even an acknowledgment from the staff. They lose a full rating star for this, not because it happened once, but because it's a regular occurrence and we haven't seen any improvement in this process. Would I recommend Thai Delight? Yes, absolutely! If you're phoning in an order to go, just be prepared that the wait time they quoteyou may be quite a bit longer. Give yourself a bit of extra time if you are really hungry. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. My husband and I are regulars and the service is always friendly and excellent. I particularly love their pineapple fried rice, but I have also tried their various curries and they are all very good. Their "Thai hot" is actually quite spicy (this is something I am very happy about). They sometimes bring out complimentary ice cream after a dinner order, as well. I am NOT delighted! I would give no stars if I could! I came to this restaurant right after businesses started opening up again. This time I came in hopes of a lovely, fresh Thai meal like I had previously. Although previously, the server argued with me when I said the dish was way too spicy for a number 2 level, the taste was still delicious. She balked unreasonably, but figured out how to fix it. Today I ordered the Vegetable Melody (or something named similarly). You know, the typical Thai fresh vegetables tossed in a wok with some ginger. Simple. What I got was a pile of over-cooked vegetables as brown as the sauce that was added in. The rice tasted old. I thought I'd give it a chance and ate, because I was hungry. I've eaten a lot of Thai food in my life--authentic and Americanized. This slop was reminiscent of American-Chinese food. "Cuisine" is too fancy of a word for what was sitting before me. I was in a hurry and didn't want to bother asking for a replacement. Why? Because I already had to get up to ask for chop sticks and a fork. Sat down again and realized I had no napkin. I got up again and the cook saw me and told the sever I was waiting at the cash register. The server was polite and accommodating, yet the place was nearly empty. Why he didn't check if things were alright with me is beyond my imagination. However, upon checkout, he charged me $3 for tofu and $2 for ginger. Outrageous! Because of the soggy mess, lack of attention, and inability to explain extra charges, I removed another star from my review and no tip for the server. Yes, I'm hard-core when paying hard-earned money for my food in America. Yes folks, a grand total of $18.46 for LUNCH. This experience was nothing like fresh, flavorful Thai cuisine that I'm accustomed to. I suspect they don't know or they don't care and are cutting corners or their chef is Chinese trained. My first time trying Thai Delight and I'm a fan! I arrived around 11:40 today, hoping to beat the lunch crowd. When I arrived I was the only guest in the restaurant, maybe the first guest of the day because they opened at 11. I was greeted immediately. While dining, business picked up a bit, 7 more people came in. There was plenty of available seating. Similar to other Thai restaurants, Thai Delight offers free and unlimited hot soup and salad to accompany your meals. The salad bar is slightly different. It's just regular toss salad but they also have tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, strawberries and grapes. How nice?! They did not have the peanut dressing most are used to. Instead there salad bar comes with some sort of Thai Vinaigrette maybe. It's delicious. I had 2 servings. The soup also taste a lot fresher than other Thai places I've tried. Some Thai soup taste like it's loaded with soy and sodium to me. This soup did not! I ordered the L3 - Pad Thai. I keep it simple! The portions were HUGE. I can't imagine what the dinner portions are like (see pics). Again, the food didn't taste like it was loaded with soy and sodium. No after taste from the eggs and chicken (which is what I've experienced at other places). I opted for level 1 for my spice level - it was perfect. So was the spring roll that accommodated my meal. I was in and out, full and pleased within 40 minutes. Probably could have been sooner but I sat and enjoyed another helping of salad before I left. I also used my check it offer and got a free Thai Tea (large). I've never tried Thai Tea because I didn't' like the idea of milk I my tea but I rarely decline a free check in offer I noticed on the menu it said if you want more OR less ice in your Thai Tea, it'll be an extra dollar. Really?! All of this goodness cost me less than 9 bucks (without the tip) and I have leftovers for dinner this evening or lunch tomorrow. This place is amazing. After a day of aquarium shopping in Phx we were on our way back down home to Tucson but needed to eat dinner before the trip home. Pull-up Google Maps and see what is around us. Thai. That works, its nearby and we like Thai food. Not knowing the quality of the place, we split the risk of a disappointing dinner. We got basic Pad Thai, as you can not go wrong with that and then on the "try something new" side of the risk equation we got Crab Fried Rice. Ok, never had that. 1) The prices were competitive. Great. Pass. 2) The portions were HUGE. We took leftovers home and I ate Thai at work for the next two days. 3) The food taste was probably in the top 25% of all Thai places I have eaten at over the last 30+ years. The service was polite and sufficient, but not overly attentive. That is either a plus if you want mostly to be left alone to eat, or a negative if you are expecting Starbucks Barista Chipper in your face service. This is a Go Back To place! read more

First and foremost I want to be clear that the food is not the problem here; it's the service. . . Or lack there of. The restaurant was for the most part empty for lunch, so we sat "wherever you like." My boyfriend had to grab us menus after he went to the bathroom because no one had greeted me. Strike one! We ordered Red Curry with chicken level 2 and Pad Se Ew with beef level 2. The kitchen is unbelievably slow with no one even in there. After waiting some my dish arrived. Problem was it was Green Curry and not the Red Curry I ordered. I mentioned this to the server and she argued I ordered Green, I didn't and my boyfriend confirmed this to her. No apology nothing. No big deal not going to wait, I ate it. Strike 2. Still waiting on the Pad Se Ew. Meanwhile they are cooking and fulfilling a to go order that is just being bagged and placed at the check out station; let me just say no one is even waiting on it. We are waiting! Still waiting. We mention this, no apologies. Now I get angry, and the server rudely comes up with excuses and apologizes. . . Sort of. Strike 3. My boyfriend ended up just eating some of my food and we asK for the Pad Se Ew Togo. Literally still waiting on it by the time we finish up the Curry. Just to note, when we left, that's Togo order they were in such a hurry to get out was still sitting on the checkout; getting cold, waiting to be picked up. Read a few of the other reviews - and yes, prices seem to have gotten a little higher lately (assuming because of inflation), but I reason that the amount of food you get more than makes up for that. Every time I've gone, I have been shocked by the amount of protein (except for the shrimp) in each meal. Doesn't feel like they skimp. And I can easily make a meal here last another three or four due to the quantity. Doesn't hurt that the food is delicious either :) I've tried approximately six different dishes off the menu and have yet to be disappointed! Service is so so. All needs met - interactions are short and to the point. Not great, not bad. Finally, the place itself seems clean. Aesthetic is nice. Always not many people when we go. To wrap up - it's not a knock it out of the park dining experience - but the food itself is, imo, and prices are worth the quality and quantity. The coconut pineapple ice cream they give you as a "courtesy" at the end of the meal - my favorite part :) So is it my favorite restaurant? No. Will I keep going back though? Absolutely. I'm from out of town and wanted some Thai food. I found this place online and decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did! We ordered the coconut shrimp, pot stickers, pad see ewe and the spicy noddles with basil. The portions are huge even on the appetizers as we received much more food than I have seen at any other Thai restaurant which is great. Aside from the portions, the food itself is excellent and some of the best Thai food I've ever had! The spicy noodles with basil have an incredibly tasty sauce. I eat pad see ewe probably every week and this brown sauce was delish! Served up hot and fresh and a good mix of sweet with spice. Plus the noodles are cooked perfectly. Our waiter was also so accommodating and kind. The restaurant itself it very clean. Plus, we loved the complimentary coconut pineapple ice cream! Such a nice touch! Pretty good Thai food! Not the best, but not bad at all. The eggplant dish had a variety of vegetables that were cooked nicely, not hard but not mushy, and I asked for extra sauce. The portion size was very generous. The only drawback was that the sauce wasn't very concentrated in flavor and was rather watery. Strange because I had the same experience at the other most recent Thai restauant I reviewed in mesa. I would probably try a different dish if I went back. The eggplant was tender and nicely done overall. $11 with no meat. Great value. The drunken noodles were a bit bland. Noodles were cooked properly, but for some reason the sauce was more orange than brown, and the taste was more of a tang than a savory one as expected. Not many vegetables, and for the extra $4 I only got a few pieces of shrimp which tasted to be just boiled in water. So I wouldn't get that again. The complimentary Thai tea from the yelp coupon was nice. It wasn't very sweet or strong, more mild, but pretty nice. Overall a decent spot, but nothing special. We are repeat customers at Thai delight! We love getting weekend takeout from here. Some of our favorites are the red curry, pad Thai, drunken noodles and the Thai fried rice. The wait is always very reasonable, we've never had longer then a 40 minute wait and it's usually around 20-25. The portions are very generous and get us several meals. We ordered our food and were served. One of the entrees had beef that was very overcooked and almost impossible to eat. We called the waitress and explained we couldn't eat the food. She went and got the manager,a bald headed gentleman from the kitchen, and explained again to him about the food. He said that they had been serving the food all day and nobody had complained about it. He said, "What do you want me to do?". We said, "We didn't want the food because we couldn't eat the meat ". He then said "You can either take the food and pay for it, or I'll remove all your food and you can leave." We said we would pay for the other dish we ordered and not the one we couldn't eat and he said, "You can buy all of it or you can leave ". So, we left and we'll never return again. read more

This place used to be my GO-TO for Pad Thai but not only have they changed the recipe of the Pad Thai, the owner doesn't even care about his business or customers enough to come out and address the concern. I am not a Karen and usually write glowing reviews for places with good food and service but the woman working the front wanted to argue with me stating it's been the same for years and refused to take it off the ticket (one bite was taken) When I got up to the register to pay the owner came out to stare at me and said few words making me very uncomfortable.
