I've been craving good salt and pepper tofu and it's surprisingly hard to find in my area for delivery. I actually thought I was ordering delivery this time, but it turned out to be a pickup order -- not ideal, but luckily the restaurant is less than 15 minutes from home. The tofu itself was delicious -- crisp, flavorful, and nicely spiced. I like salty food (probably my Russian side showing), though my German boyfriend thought it was a little too salty for his taste. I really enjoyed the heat from the jalapeños -- just enough to add a kick without overpowering the dish. Even though I was bummed about the pickup mix-up, my order was ready when I arrived. The staff member was friendly and even mentioned I hadn't selected a rice option, so they went ahead and added one for me -- a small gesture that made a big difference. It seemed like they do a lot of takeout orders, but they had a nice amount of seating in the restaurant as well, which we took them up on. The cashier doubled as our server and he was wonderful. Such a great spot for both lunch or dinner! Each time I've frequented this restaurant, the food is always delicious and portions are very generous. I love that they offer lunch specials thru the weekend. Lunch is served with an egg roll and fried rice is $2 extra. My go to is the Mongolian Beef. Very tender & flavorful served with a good amount of meat and love the mushrooms! My only complaint is the pricing. My lunch total with fried rice is almost $13, which seems more like dinner pricing to me. The restaurant is small & clean and offers a few high top table as well as booths. I stopped in for a quick bite. They are busy doing a brisk takeout so I wanted something quick and easy . A pair of egg rolls and seaweed salad. The seaweed salad portion was ample and delightfully cold ., with lots of sesame seeds sprinkled on top... perfect on a hot spring day! The egg rolls were just pulled out of the fryer and the were crisp and piping hot . And served with a smile. What they do, they do well. On this particular evening, I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, General's Chicken, and Crispy Pot Stickers. If you order the pad thai because you want delicious noodles, you'll get some delicious noodles. With that said, it tastes nothing like pad thai. Where's the tamarind!? The General's Chicken was really good though and the Pot Stickers were delicious. I think I'll probably just stick with the Chinese food options here. 3.5 stars but I'll round up! I had a rare craving for chicken lo mein and was satisfied by Dragon Express. Also in our order was minced chicken with lettuce wraps, crispy pot stickers, fried rice, orange peel chicken, and spicy Korean pork. The minced chicken with lettuce wraps was comparable to PF Chang's; probably the best thing in our order. The crispy pot stickers were good, but tbh it's hard to mess up pot stickers. My assumption is that they are frozen pot stickers and heated up but I cannot confirm. My brother ordered the orange peel chicken. It was battered, fried, and covered in orange sauce. It was more batter than chicken, but that's not uncommon for orange chicken. The fried rice was your typical fried rice, good, solid. The Korean pork we ordered the spiciest level possible and it was NOT spicy. My brother notoriously cannot eat anything even remotely spicy (regular hot cheetos are "too" spicy for him) and he tried it and confirmed, not spicy. Trust me when I say it means a lot when he can eat it. Overall, Dragon Express is good to satisfy a craving but doesn't necessarily hit the spot. read more
