Our regular place was closed today, found this place on yelp. It had good reviews so thought I'd give it a try. I'm giving 2.5 stars for the service. Employee was really nice and friendly. .5 stars for the food. It was just blah. I had the general tso, and while it wasn't awful, it wasn't that great either, pretty bland. Husband had the Mongolian beef, that was also bland. I even took a taste of the beef and the taste just wasn't there. My son had the beef and broccoli, he didn't say much about it except that it was just ok. My husband wanted no peas in his fried rice but they gave all of us no peas, in fact no veggies at all were in it. It was also a little gummy. service was great, our waitress was a very nice lady. unfortunately, the food was below par. we ordered the lemon chicken and Beijing beef. lemon chicken should be called lemon donuts bc the dough is extremely thick and soft and sweet and there's barely any chicken inside. the tangy lemon flavor is good however. beijing beef was incredibly sweet.. TOO sweet, with TONS of sauce. we were wiping the sauce off. they could use 1/8 the amount of sauce and it would be better, and add some salt & spice to balance out the overpowering sweetness. just overall very syrupy and sweet. if you love your food incredibly sweet, then this place may be for you. i think the fried rice or hong kong pan fried noodles would have been a safer option, but i won't come here again to try it. read more

Big Bowl does this big back right! I have had it several times now. The food is always hot and fresh, even when ordered for delivery. The crab puffs are amazing! Perfectly cooked to where it has a nice, crispy outside, with a delicious soft and warm inside. They never taste like they have been cooked in old oil. In this order, I also got the teriyaki chicken with brown rice. Everything was delicious! I've also had the shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, and Kung pao chicken. All great choices! My family and I visited this restaurant for a pickup order after driving 20 minutes based on the great reviews. Since we do not eat out very often, we were really looking forward to this meal. I ordered a half tray of sweet and sour chicken with white rice, but when we got home, we realized there was no sweet and sour sauce included. Without the sauce, the meal was essentially just chicken nuggets and vegetables. My husband called the restaurant hoping to find a reasonable solution to the issue. Unfortunately, the manager was extremely rude during the conversation and ultimately hung up on him when he politely asked about the possibility of a refund for the inconvenience. We pass this place all the time and the parking lot is always full so we figured we would go in and try. We were not disappointed. we ordered Wor Wanton soup and NY Style Chicken Chow Main. It came with rice and crispy noodles. The chow mein was GREAT! The white rice was cooked to perfection, not too moist and just dry to my liking. the Wor Won Ton soup was ok, but could have been better using a chicken stock instead of beef. the wontons were hand rolled and used a heavier noodle. they were ok but I would have enjoyed a little different taste. the soup also lacked boc choy, parsley, sliced pork and more mushrooms. The lo mein was garlicky and perfectly cooked on the side of my general Tso chicken which was great as well! Upon arrival I was met by a withered woman with a nasty temperament who literally snatched my card out of my hand! While deep breathing & contemplating walking out, I decided not to respond in kind. Absolutely an amazing find! My friend introduced me to this amazing "hole" in the wall. Do not let the outside fool you because as soon as you step in this delicious Chinese spot opens up to a sea of tables and a big screen TV. The menu is extensive with a mix of appetizers, entrees, and teas. I decided to get their white meat chicken with vegetables. It came out pipping hot so fast from the welcoming lady at the counter. The food is not overly salty and has tons of flavor. I added a little Sriracha for some heat and wow, it was on until my stomach said stop! 4.5 Stars... I've been meaning to try this spot for a while so I stopped by tonight. The team members greeted me promptly as I walked through the door & were friendly. I ordered to go & got the Spicy Basil House Lo Mein with Fried Rice. The order came out fast & hot. When I opened my meal in my truck to eat it I noticed there was no fork or chop sticks which was a bummer so I had to grab a fork from Circle K. I was pleasantly surprised at how good my Lo Mein was, the ingredients seemed fresh, the cuts of meat weren't fat, ligaments, or questionable. It also had a bunch of grilled jalapenos in it which definitely added to the flavor. The only reason I docked them a 1/2 star was the lack of any sort of utensils & the $1.50 upcharge for fried rice was a mistake, the fried rice was absolutely flavorless, even after adding soy sauce (I'll stick with white rice next time & save myself the $1.50 & disappointment.) I will definitely be back & I want to try their lunch specials. read more

I have Two favorite Chinese food restaurants and my favs at this one are lemon chicken, egg drop soup it has No tofu, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, the wings and that they sell trays of rangoons with like 24 and aren't stingy with the sauces! They also still do regular home delivery without you having to pay extra fees, but you can use whatever food service app you want also. read more

Probably the worst I've had since moving to Arizona. I had beef with mushroom and string bean and my daughter had pad Thai. We also ordered some appetizers that were basically okay. But as far as the entree goes terrible no flavor very watery it was such a waste of money never again. That's $55 down the drain only for a lesson to be learned. OK Mesa, I am starting to like you better. One of my biggest complaints over my 5 years of being here, is no good Chinese food. I got a mailer for this place and have passed it many times. I checked the reviews and they were great. Still not convinced, as I have gone to others with great reviews and been unimpressed. The ambiance is not great, but who cares? Most of us order takeout anyway. I only ordered one dish (with trepidation), Cashew chicken with lo mein. It was excellent! Noodles done perfectly (No veggies in them) and the cashew chicken was flavorful, full of veggies, chicken and cashews. I am extremely pleased. My next mission will be to check out the other dishes. I have found a couple places that make one dish well and the others not so much. Or, the sauces taste exactly the same in every entree. Big Bowl, you hit a home run on the first pitch, I am hoping your other offerings are just as awesome. I look forward to seeing you soon! read more
