I decided to do takeout, because I wasn't really in the mood to cook. My House is located in the Fry's Shopping Center, tucked away on the left hand side of the strip mall facing Gilbert Road close to the Wells Fargo Bank. My House closes at 8:30, kind of early for a Friday, in my opinion. I called my order in. I ordered the meat steamed dumplings, orange chicken (spicy), and one of their specialties I was told the food would be done in 8 to 10 minutes, and it was. When I walked in, I paid and my order was done within a minute. I have to say I was not pleased with the packing of my order. As someone who moved to Arizona from Connecticut last year, I've been on a serious hunt for Northeast-style Chinese takeout -- the kind you get near New York. I've tried so many places across the East Valley and kept leaving disappointed. I cannot believe the spot I've been looking for was less than a mile from my house the whole time. This is the real deal. The fried chicken had that classic orange tint and was fried hard and crispy -- exactly how it's done back home. The boneless BBQ pork spare ribs were perfectly charred and flavorful. The pork fried rice actually tasted right (if you're from the Northeast, you know what I mean). The egg rolls were crispy and bubbly, not soggy. The egg foo young came with that savory brown gravy that makes the dish. Crab rangoons were on point, and even the wonton egg drop soup hit the mark. And let's talk about the combo platters -- full plates like we're used to. Not the à la carte situation I keep seeing out here. The pricing felt just like back in CT, which was such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. Service was excellent -- friendly and efficient. The host was especially kind. When I told him I had been searching all over the East Valley for this style of Chinese food, he just smiled and nodded like he knew exactly what I meant. That alone made me feel understood. The only thing missing? Sweet tea or Kool-Aid and those little pineapple chunks in a plastic container -- then I really would've felt like I was back in the Northeast. Arizona has truly become home for us for so many reasons, but being able to find the foods we grew up loving -- while also enjoying all the new options here -- makes it even better. Great find here on Yelp. The counter service was smooth and helpful, which made ordering easy. I had the chow mein with chicken and shrimp, and it was a big plate for lunch -- definitely something you could share. I live a few blocks away from My House and it's a great place for quick higher quality Chinese food. The food is almost always ready in under 10 minutes and they pack everything to go in a nice large carriable bag. The interior is very clean but only has a few tables for dining in. The few times I've dined in I didn't really like the larger chairs as they sat low and didn't quite fit the tables for a taller person. The food is usually quite good and plentiful. The lunch specials come with an entree, soup/side and pork fried rice. The one minor complaint I have is some pieces of chicken are very large and could be cut up into more pieces to make it crispier and easier to eat. Overall, it's one place I come back to every few months for a good consistent meal. Definitely worth a visit if you've never tried it. read more

Zero stars...not even close to a1 star review I honestly can't remember the last time I was this disappointed by a restaurant meal. It had been years since we ordered from My House, and after this experience, I remember exactly why we stopped. We spent nearly $95 on four takeout entrées, drove three minutes home, and somehow the food was already ice cold. Unfortunately, the temperature was only the beginning of the problem. The beef and broccoli was completely bland, with virtually no flavor. The pork lo mein tasted like plain noodles tossed in soy sauce and nothing else. The egg foo young was soggy, undercooked, and so tasteless that it was barely edible. The spare ribs arrived cold and absolutely drenched in that bright red sauce, to the point where it overwhelmed everything else. I've had mediocre Chinese takeout before, but this bordered on some of the worst restaurant food I've ever paid for. Nearly every dish lacked flavor, texture, or any indication that someone cared about the final product. For almost $100, I expected at least a decent meal. Instead, most of it ended up being a waste of money. The most frustrating part is that this wasn't a minor mistake or an off night. Every entrée was disappointing in a different way. Cold food, bland flavors, poor execution, and zero value for the price. We won't be returning, and certainly won't be recommending My House to anyone. This is hands down the BEST New York style Chinese food in Arizona. The egg rolls are crispy on the outside with crunchy cabbage inside . Sweet and sour chicken is spot on delicious. First time I went here, I tried the Shrimp Lo Mein--absolutely banging. Fresh and hot, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and it wasn't too salty. Second time I went here was today, and I ordered the Shrimo Chow Mei Fun to go--just as good, great portions and ratio of noodles to veggies and shrimp, and service both times was speedy and friendly. The only thing is... in this most recent order I found a few scraps of steel wire/steel wool, likely from a scrubber or steel sponge I thought it was garnish at first until I went to pick it up. Not gonna knock a star off because (1) I get it, stuff happens even if we try to prevent it. I didn't ingest it, and all I had to do was just pick it out; no harm, no foul, and (2) everything else about this place is great and I'd love to go back and try more dishes (namely the Mongolian beef because it looks delicious)! Great tasting Chinese food in the frys shopping plaza. We stopped by on a Sunday night and they were pretty busy with to go orders. Prices are reasonable and they have a variety of dishes to choose from. We decided on ordering a wonton soup, chicken lo mein, and a chicken with mushrooms dish. The cashier was friendly and took our orders fast. We sat down and our food was brought out not too long after. The food was great! The soup was piping hot and had really good flavor. 3rd time lucky. This is our 3rd visit to my house and I have to mention I am really impressed by their food. It was a cold night and we wanted some takeouts so placed an order over the phone and the food was ready in about 20 min. We opened the package at home and the aroma filled the room. We had ordered hot and spicy chicken, chicken lo mein and vegetarian fried rice. The hot and spicy chicken was so good we licked the entire bowl. It was spicy the chicken was juicy, the sauce was perfect. We loved every bit of it and highly recommend. Our second favorite dish was the chicken lo mein the soft noodles was cooked to perfection, good portion of the chicken, tender and juicy. We had requested for spicy and it was. We didn't like the veggie fried rice, it lacked the taste like the other two dishes. It was a little bland. All the dishes were definitely grease, but that's Asian food, can't argue on that.
